I came back to say, for many projects this stitch beats using chains or any other chainless method. As an edge, it looks nice alone or with an edging border. A genius thought of this - if that's you, thank you so much for sharing it. No more "chain 260" ever again!!!
Piece of cake - thank you, Brianna! I've heard knitters extol the benefits of an I-cord edging and have searched for a crochet version - this is the first one that worked for me. Now to start using it!
Janice just hold main yarn in right hand as usual, allowing yarn end to droop. I use my right hand to hold both yarn ends. Hope that helps. Main thing to remember with being left handed, is that it can always be mirrored unless the pattern doesn't match at each side x
