Fantastic videos on quick load. I will be purchasing the program. I wish I would've known about it earlier! By the way, my wife loves the sound of your voice. Glad you're on the other side of the pond.

I just received Quickload today and have been using it now for hours to work up .308 Win. loads...:) and your video is very helpful. Thanks!

I read you should meassure case capacity of a fired case, because the case will expand to this dimension as preassure builds up during firing. It makes a big difference in my calculations. Since I cant meassure preassure I cant tell which way is right, after firing or after FL sizing.

Hi Richard great video Thankyou, I have purchased QL and it's very interesting, I have done all the measurements and came up with some test loads for my 308 target rifle , imr8208 berger hybrid 155, went to the range yesterday and using shooting chrony beta found my velocities where, depending on load, 75 to 90 FPS over QLs prediction and showing pressure signs on the higher loads, 3090 fps 26 inch barrel, ( I won't go there again) angel target rifle action. I realize chambers and barrel friction play a big role, also powder burn rate variation, what I have done now is changed the powder burn rate Ba in QL to match the velocities I am getting and using the new data to develop a load close to the theoretical node 3 for my barrel length. Do you think I am on the right track? I checked my lab scales all ok, next week at the range I will check my chrono against the expensive club one, but 90 FPS is huge. Interestingly I checked some old data for my 223 competition rifle, and I am 65 FPS under QLs prediction, so maybe it's not the powder ( same bottle) according to QL 25.1 grains of 8208 in a 223 80 gn projectile will put me 10,000 psi over saami specs but no pressure signs, time will tell but maybe competition actions bahave against the norm? Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Best regards Richard

Richard, Thank you for the video, I just ordered Quickload 3.9 and look forward to learning more to aid in my load development. One of the things I have not got a total grasp on is where the program lists or tells you where the best nodes are. In your video given the information from your friend, the powder may be increased, which will increase volume, velocity, and pressure. But does that mean any given increase will be as accurate? Or are the best nodes a combination of several factors added together? If so, which ones, and in which order? Also, I don't see much regarding twist rate of the barrel, does this not matter? I hope this makes some sort of sense, and apologize if it doesn't.

Something not taken into account here is that if the longer seating length is touching, or worse yet engraving into the lands, it'll probably spike the pressure.

Hi Richard, Great video as usual.... I just bought QuickLoad 3.9 but in the powder file there is not info about Tu-5000, Tu-7000 and Tu-8000. Is there any way to get that info???? Thanks. Francisco

+7mmRM Thank you kindly. I'd email the importer in your country of QL. Failing that, the powder manufacturer. Merry Xmas :)

With the case H2O weight would you do an average of ten cases? and my second question is how you get an elevation chart out of QuickLOAD. I have one but have forgot how to get it.

neil calder Yes that would be great That's QuickTarget, which comes with (but separate icon)

I'm a little puzzled When you say 'maximum case capacity overflow'. Obviously when you fill a case with water, the level is higher than the top edge of the case. As in convex. Would you take that as your 'maximum case capacity overflow', or would i need to use something to work the water level down to exactly the same level as the brass height? Thanks. J.

Hi rich .... watching all the figures on the 22-250 I noticed the ballistic efficiency was 23.4 % when u increased the powder load however you said previously this should be above 30%, is this important? ... also im looking at buying quickload and I was wondering if the Australian made ADI powders we have down here are programmed into the software? cheers

+Matt Riches It seems a load above 30% is very very likely to shoot well. But plenty are going to be fine below this too I just checked and there's gotta be 20 ADI powders in the list and it's all frequently updated buddy - so you're good to go i reckon

thanks for that mate, just ordered a copy! Got a new 223 yesterday i need to develop some loads for and ive been disappointed with the accuracy from my 308 remmy, so hopefully this will help me sort that out as well ... going to order one of those barrel tuners you talked about in another video and play around with that as well .... great channel, keep em coming!

I have a custom rifle soon to be finished. It's a 7mm Rem. Mag. and I'm looking to use one of the new IMR Enduron powders (IMR 7977). Does QuickLoad have loading data for these powders yet?

Louis Smith I can't see that powder Louis. I'm speaking to JMS Arms UK on Monday so i'll check if it's due on the latest update CD, which looks likely.

Quick Load asks for a fired BUT Not resized case to work out Water volume . (5 min 5 sec )

+FGYT Shooting Quite right. Easiest for me is to fire the brass and then weight it before sizing. Fill will water to brim and wipe clean. Weigh again. Subtract the two figures and that's your H20 capacity in grains. Then straight in the tumbler to clean and dry off

@@RichardUttingSharpshootingUK thanks for the great video, is measuring the fired capacity only necessary if you plan on neck sizing only
