IN THIS VIDEO:
A solo play through of the MARVEL CHAMPIONS Living Card Game published by Fantasy Flight Games. This is my first two plays with him, going up against Absorbing Man in both Standard and Expert Mode. Please note while I do my best, mistakes sometimes happen, but the intent and fun of the game remains intact. Feel free to comment and ask questions. I'll do my best to answer. :)

@Sean Gause Until Quicksilver, the only hero I liked with Protection was Iron Man ... but Protection does seem natural with Quicksilver! It's always good to play with the pre-constructed just to see how the new cards work. :) Thanks for watching!

If you can remember all the active cards/abilities he has going, he seems extremely strong. Being able to attack/thwart 2+ times every round plus defend every turn seems “above average”.

@TheVlad1616 That 'free defense' every turn is HUGE. And all the other card abilities are super good too! He is a lot stronger than I was expecting. :)

Something to remember about Multiple Man: if you play him the first time he’s in your hand, you get all 3. The one you pay for gets you the 2nd, the 2nd gets you the 3rd. If you DON’T play him the first time you see him and you have one or more in your discard, he’s totally not worth it. It certainly makes him better, but I still won’t be using him much. That’s a lot of deck space for a huge maybe.

Quicksilver is amazing!!!! I love the fact they have represented his speed by making it possible to ready him numerous times each turn. I can see him being powerful. Is he going to be a bit fragile in say Justice or Aggression?

I honestly think Quicksilver is going to be the strongest just below Dr.Strange but actually really fun to play. Just had a kang game last night with someone playing QS leadership, in 1 turn with all of his upgrades and all 4 always be runnings he wound up doing close to 36 and some damage to kang in one turn. Honestly really darn fun to play

Thanks for the play through. I always watch your playthroughs before taking the character out for a spin myself. I did notice you are no longer using the Burger tokens, why is that?

@Andrew Chang Thanks for watching! I use the token in my off-camera plays. They didn't show on-screen as good as the games tokens. Mainly the threat and condition tokens made it hard to follow at points.

What card sleeves do you use? They seem a perfect fit. My ultra pros are much bigger than the cards. Great video, excited to play Quicksilver

@Sepher 2809 I'm currently using Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves. Prior to that I had used Fantasy Flight Sleeves for over a decade. If you do re-sleeve, I hope Quicksilver helps. ;)

When I found out that FFG discontinued their sleeves I had to re-sleeve everything. On Dale's recommendation I went with the Dragon Shield Clear Matte. For all the cards with information on the front and back I went with Dragon Shield Clear non-matte. For the big folding cards like Ant-Man I used Dragon Shield Perfect Fit Sideloader Clear. I like the Dragon Shield sleeves so much that I'm going to re-sleeve my Arkham Horror LCG collection.

At 4:35 you play Adrenaline Rush which only lasts to the end of the phase. Your turn, the hero phase, then ends straight after it, so surely that card gets discarded straight away? Or am I missing something here? Thanks! Great video as always. Played a bunch of QS last week and he's awesome! Scarlet Witch coming for me this week!

@Zero Ceid Adrenaline Rush is an Upgrade so it will stay in play until you use an action to use it. Hope that helps! :)

I knew you would be smart and use the electrostatic armor and unflappable! If you play him in protection try keeping the nerves of steel to allow never back down to be played for free and stun lock plus guarantee unflappable works! We played an entire game where he took 2 damage on expert!

@@DaletheCasualGamer we tried him in aggression with the “Asgard Weapon” and I think you’ll like that! Also the tenacity card is also worth a look in his deck especially in multiplayer games!

Why did you ready Quicksilver at the end of the Villain's attack at 5:00? I thought you only untapped/readies a hero at the end of the player phase? Am I playing hardcore mode? LOL

@Crits Happen Quicksilver has a special ability that lets him ready after using a basic power (ATK-THW-DEF) once per phase. So that's once during the hero phase, and then once during the villain phase. It's pretty powerful! :)

Isabelle Clara Therrien-Gros-Louis His card ability lets him ready once per phase after using a basic power. So once during the hero phase after he attacks or thwarts he can ready for free, and once during the villain phase he can ready for free after defending. That defense is amazing!! Hope that helps. :)

I thought indirect damage has to be spread out among the hero and your allies?

@Adam JC916 If you have someone that can handle all the damage, that is fine. Where indirect damage is different, if you have 5 indirect damage coming in, you can't assign all 5 to a character with 2 health, the other 3 has to get assigned to another character. Hope that helps. :)

@@DaletheCasualGamer "Indirect damage dealt to a player or group of players must be split among all characters that the specified player(s) control(s)". Taken from 1.3 rule book. It says "must be split" between all character you control. Don't mean to harp on it, just want to get clarity.

@@adamjc9167 No problem! Not all rules are clear, and even when they seem clear, some clarification can be useful. So in short, indirect does not need to be "split" evenly, just can't assign all to one character f they can't take all the damage. Following is from one of the game designers. How does indirect damage work for an effect like Green Goblin I-II’s “when revealed” in Risky Business? Indirect damage may be split among characters you control however you like, with the exception that you cannot over-assign damage (i.e. place 3 damage on a character with only 1 hit point remaining). [Also see above: Luke Cage] -Boggs Hall of Heroes is a great site to find some of these things. www.hallofheroeslcg.com Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)
