They just never sold out to commercialism. The Pink Floyd of the United States. They were a match for the Allman Brothers. Two dueling master guitarists backed up by a wall of sound of percussion and underlaid with a concert keyboardist. That isn't under appreciated.

That iconic song, was spot on, for our generation and you could play that today, and it would still be a hit. I see a man that loved to perform. See if you can check out the bands It's a Beautiful Day, the Doors, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, so much great music in the 60's. Unfortunately, radio and record companies are constantly dumbing down the music and lyrics of today's songs. Right on this page to the right is Santana, It's A beautiful Day, the Byrds,Yes,and Traffic. Check them all out. They will blow your mind! There are great musicians still out there. All of us need to do something about this. We. Baby boomers and our Fathers and mothers built and faught and died for this country. No----- we can't let our country go down like this. For the longest time after hearing the “Just For Love” LP I was reluctant to listen to any other QMS album since I was afraid to be disappointed by anything they did that may not be as good. I ended up with every LP they came out with and a double bootleg as well. I had listened to “Just For Love” so many times I remembered every note! In the days before being able to carry recorded music with you, even before CD or cassette players, I had to “listen” to the music from my memory. I used to pass the time on watch in the army by “playing” it through in my head. Great stuff.

Amazing. I have loved this band and its music for over 35 years since I first discovered them as a student. Quicksilver's music has permeated my life ever since.

I saw them live at Central Park's Schaefer Music Festival in 1972 for $2.00 (the cost of general admission then). For $3 you could get a preferred seat but we were just poor secretaries then. So many wonderful acts back then, including Richie Havens, Sha Na Na, Bill Withers, Blood Sweat and Tears & more. R.I.P. Dino Valenti & others.

I was a little too young to go to these concerts but I’m sure glad they’re on you tube now. True classic rock
