Last month, Donald Trump summoned top lobbyists and executives from the oil and gas industry to Mar-a-Lago and proceeded to solicit a $1 billion bribe, multiple outlets report. In exchange, he would basically roll back all climate regulations and let the industry run wild in his second term.

Furthermore, the solicitation of an alleged bribe has to be a bribe in the mind of the person soliciting the alleged bribe. Chris Hayes, at the outset, said "This is not a crime." Read the Constitution of the United States. The conduct may not be legally disqualifying, but law and morality is not the same. You do not have to vote for a candidate who has a policy platform you disagree with and that has always been the case in a functioning democracy. You could even stand for election, so long as you legally qualify to be a candidate.
