To be fair, if they actually called it Galleons, then they'd try to make sure the item prices actually make sense for Galleons. And they kind of didn't for Hogwarts Legacy. Saying gold is just easier, and makes more sense for the casual audience.
@@dustinvanwinkle5078 That's like saying that any of the movies beyond Philosopher's Stone weren't made by fans, cause the House Cup is never mentioned again.
"Gold can only be earned through in-game progression and cannot be purchased with real-world currency." ... Except when you spend money to buy the deluxe edition and get 2000 more gold. I'm moderately excited for this game though!
It's pretty simple. Physical media has supply chains to worry about in order to get millions store ready. At the end of the day they either release the electronic version early, or wait till all physical issues are sorted.
There is an offline mode. It's stated in the first few seconds of the trailer it has a singleplayer mode. If you however mean an offline multiplayer mode, then I understand what you mean. But it's not like there isn't an offline mode.
@@VegardMyklebust No, you still need an internet connection to play single-player. It says it on the next FAQ line. It's just saying that you don't need a PS+ Subscription to play single-player. However, games needing Online connections isn't anything new these days. Devs need to have a way to update games in order to fix any security risks and to prevent people from discovering new ways to exploit the game. It's normal, and its better for both the safety of you and the game.
We rely on physical copies because otherwise it'll take 2 days to digitally install. Physical copies are also better incase someone gets into your account and your game data gets deleted. That physical copy is your solid proof of purchase. I stand by physical forms because one time we bought a limited edition physical copy of a Sims 3 game. You had to buy it within a certain amount of time to gain a special item. After install, the game wouldn't allow me to have the special item. So I contacted support, who just needed the bar code number, and they found out that I did indeed buy it within that time frame, then giving me access to have the special item, and adding the pack to my list of purchased games. For some reason my account wouldn't add it to my account. So a physical copy can be a big help!
What are you running that takes 2 days to install? I have shit internet an my games install fine. And your sims scenario... Digital purchases your info needed would just be in your confirmed purchase email.... And strange you're using an almost 20 year example for your reasoning lolol
@@dustinvanwinkle5078 The Sims 3 issue was back in 2015, not yet 10yrs ago. Never heard of getting an email for a digital game purchase, but I also can't buy digitally anyhow, unless it's through the Xbox, if I can ever get enough points. For an EA game purchase, it just shows up in your EA account, but that didn't always happen. I've spoken with folks few years ago who had bought Sims 4, physical and digitally, but it wouldn't install because it wasn't showing up in their EA account as purchased. Origin caused a lot of weird problems for us all. But when our upload and download speed is just at a 1, it's gonna take many hours to install a game for Xbox or Playstation. When I tried to install Sims 4, on a pc, the estimated time for install at first said over 7½ million hours! But then about 10minutes later it changed to about 8hrs, which for us, 7-8hrs to install a game is considered fast.
@@dustinvanwinkle5078 I already made a reply to this and I see it's gone. It's really selfish when someone falsely reports a reply just because they didn't like the answer given back to them! 😡 I had said the Sims 3 issue had happened in 2015, not yet 10yrs ago. And we have AT&T dsl internet. A lot of people do, just elsewhere where it actually works. An entire town near us gave up on AT&T for being a crappy provider, and just west of us, there is a new internet provider who stepped up because of how bad AT&T's service had become. And our cell service is also through AT&T, which ends next year. Most people have dropped AT&T as their provider because they don't care to fix their cell towers. I lose service multiple times every dam day! At times, we lose internet service for no reason. AT&T has already had to credit us back officially twice this year, but it'll be more than that come January next year. Let's just say AT&T is burying their own grave this year.
Seems like they try to double their income buy postponing the physical product. Those who prefer physical product will have to buy a subscription to get the game in September, and then will have to buy a physical version as planned.
I'm sorry but if someone buy a subscription THEN a physical copy that is just plane old stupid. People don't have patience so let blame the corporation 🙄
so if I want to play the game on PS on launch I need to get PS Plus, and then if I want to keep playing it I either need to keep PS Plus, or buy the game digitally? Bruh that’s whack
So I was excited for Quidditch champions... But than I looked up the studio that was making this game and now my hype for this game has plummeted. This studio recently helped out with suicide squad kill the justice leage, and they made Fractured lands, and fantastic plastic sqaud. I never heard good things about any of those games...
Did you enjoy Hogwarts Legacy? The last game that company created before Legacy was Cars 3 Driven to Ride Also they only co-developed those games so was probably just lent a small part to help develop and had strict instructions. This is one they developed solo so I'm going in open minded
@@JordjeWing I did enjoy hogwarts legacy, but overall I say the game is a 6/10 just above being mid... I enjoy the main storyline, and Side characters quests, but outside of that, and you can explore hogwarts, and around it that's about the upside for me, as all the other side content feels to me done quite bad... like on the level of go collect 100 feathers type bad... I never got to feel like a student, maybe if they did the persona 5 classroom type deal it can be alot more fun + it could add to the world building and lore. But that's just me... in my eyes it only has a Good story, and good Side character quests, and that is it, everything else doesn't feel that fun for me to even want to deal with the rest of the game. I got it because I enjoy the Harry potter universe. But it's not a game I would recommend to the average player. That being said I think I'm not going to get this game at all since it apparently Requires online only... If they remove it I'll probably change my mind on getting it.
@@サイバー狼 I agree Legacy was about a 6/10 but considering that was their first go at a AAA RPG that's not bad. Most games are online only these days. I'd imagine it's because they want to make it possible to switch from one console to another. Most likely PS4 to PS5 with all consoles. But, with WB accounts linked, could potentially do any console? Not sure how it all works outside of same Network login for consoles by the same manufacturer.
@@JordjeWing I don't know about you, but most games I've been playing doesn't require online to work... out of 230 games I bought on steam I have only 3 paid products that requires internet to enjoy, and I got them all on sell for like 10usd or below.. Rainbow six seige, For honor, and Friends vs Friends. ( the 3 games listed only had required internet when I got them, friends vs friends still only requires internet.) Now if it was free to play I would be more lenient about it. I am more lenient about certain things in a free to play game... but for a pay game unless I get it for pretty much dirt cheap at Launch. I would not get it for these three reasons. 1.Contains a battle pass of some sort, 2.Requires internet connection, 3.Or has outrageous microtranactions where I essentially am able pay just to buy the color blue. Because what happens if I wanted to play a game many years down the road, and the servers get shut down? Welp I can't play it now... I personally think marvels avengers is a shit game, but I'm glad they made the game playable offline when the servers go out for the players that actually enjoy the game.. Look what happen to the crew, many people enjoyed thay game, but did ubisoft make it where you could play peer to peer, or offline after they shut down the servers.. No they didn't, and now people can't play The Crew anymore... This part is going off on a tangent and isn't related to our conversation. Ubisoft instead remove the game from people's account, so they can't set up their own servers or make it playable offline... which is complete bullshit....
@サイバー狼 just checked the FAQs it seems you need to be online because otherwise you can't switch consoles and keep all your progress. Basically if I play on the PS5 at launch if I get the Switch version as well all my progress will be on that copy too due to it being online. That works for me. Saves me having to decide if I want to have 2 progressions going on at the same time. I can just switch between the 2
If I don’t get to play as the chudly cannons team I’m rioting we need to be able to play as the league teams, they’ve already dropped the quaffle when it comes to choosing the Uk as a national team I wanted England Scotland wales and Ireland as teams what a mistake
I think they incorporated a price because of the career mode imo. If it were just MP it wouldn’t make sense to charge $30 at the get go, and mtx would make much more sense.
No confirmed versions for Switch just yet from what I can find. We know it WILL release for the Switch, but not sure if it's going to be standard, deluxe, or both.
I think people vastly overestimate physical copy owners. They have the numbers, if this was going to cut into potential profits, they would release at the same time.
How do they account for the snitch being worth 150 points and ending the game? From someone who has read the books and doesnt understand how the snitch could possibly be part of a competitive game
From what I have read, the snitch will be worthy only of 30 points in Quidditch Champions, but you can catch it multiple times and the matches will have a set time of play, they won't end after the first catch.
I don't find this confusing at all. It's pretty easy to understand. The only thing I will consider confusing is WHY they do it like this, why aren't they able to realease everything on the same day?
I dont know if its a us thing but most of us gamers in the uk have wanted a modern quiditch game since world cup and i personally think it could be a new fifa type of yearly sport game wnd besides from it being cartoony it seams to play exactly like quidditch world cup which is great and i dont know but i personally love the nod to the coloured rings to get to the snitch again
It really does feel like the spiritual successor to Quidditch World Cup. I have a video dropping tomorrow morning breaking down the trailer itself in more detail.
People dismiss this because of its art style which is just absurd. This game is going to rock and people shouldn’t write off any game just because of the art style. I made that mistake with Life is Strange 1 and when I finally played it I f’ing loved it. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover
no the first playtest was 6v6, they are launching it with a new max limit of 3 humans and 3 bots v 3 humans and 3 bots max. not 6v6 humans on each team. it's impossible to play without bots.
We don't need Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy. The game already has enough different mechanics in it. Adding Quidditch means adding an entire new set of game mechanics and you people already complain about lag. What we need is exactly what we're getting. A proper remake/successor to Quidditch World Cup.
I bought a PS5 just to play Hogwarts Legacy (lol). I went to preorder this after checking the Back to Hogwarts updates and, just as your video says, you can’t. I was going to preorder the physical deluxe edition to get the “Firebolt Supreme” broom skin (I’m unhinged), but it looks like they’re planning an in-game Hogwarts Legacy event this month and a Halloween one next month, which I don’t want to miss. Fingers crossed that there is, in fact, a deluxe edition at launch tomorrow? I don’t get it 😂 Cheers, man!
They're just trying to dance around the fact that the game will inevitably have micro-transactions. It's the Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fuelled thing again, where the powers-that-be will go out of their way to make it look like the game WON'T have MTX... and then a few weeks after launch, a few weeks after all the initial positive review scores, they'll shove them in everyone's faces unapologetically and unashamedly.
The more I see of this, the more I look forward to it. Everything looks and sounds great based on footage that has been shown. My only worry (for myself) is needing to have lightning fast reflexes to turn and fly through rings as a Seeker. I positively love the idea of the single-player career mode, though. Combining my favorite mode in sports games with the Wizarding World and one of its own most popular sports looks like a slam dunk to me. 💛🦡🖤🪄
Trust me when i say, you don’t need lightning fast reflexes lol. Out of everyone i know, i’m the 4th oldest playtester, so my react time is a bit slower. So i’m sure you’d be fine
I mean, if they were being very clear that they are going to out it to pc and x box first, at least give us a Solid reason like not wanting them to be able to walk all over PS players. The PC and x box players have a handful of ways to play the games that we don't on playstation. Therefore testing the waters would make sense, but they're not even implying anything of the nature😂
No offense to the devs but this is literally BS that PlayStation users can't preorder the game yet Xbox users can. I don't know if I even want this game now because of this 😠
how are they going to give us updates while paying for server costs/maintenance without any consistent revenue? i feel like this game isn't going to last long, not without micro transactions. a box price cant pay long-term.
Yeah, I think there has to be plans for some type of battle-pass system or new content expansions down the road. That's the only way they could keep it going, imo.
This game is probably going to be a live service game like suicide squad kills the justice league and won't let you play offline what's the point in buying the physical version
Per the FAQ on their site, you need a Game Pass Core Membership. "A subscription is not required to play the game’s single player Career Mode, however a PlayStation®Plus membership, Game Pass Core membership, or Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to play the Online Competitive Mode.
I thought this would be a free to play game with the usual monetization tatics. I guess it will be free to play after a year or so... it is too easy to exploit some mechanics and it doesnt translate the quidditch experience as well and simple as the world cup game.
What the hell is this, why are you so excited about it? This should have been in Hogwarts Legacy, instead they're making a separate game out of it? They're kidding us!
