(TW for self harm and disordered eating mention) Talking about my experiences with the 9 symptoms of BPD and how they've changed. Unedited, unscripted, unexceptional.
Forgot to mention in the video I've been volunteering at various places. Some excruciating thanks to my social anxiety, or very dull and I floated about like a ghost. Often these volunteer days lead to an epic episode of misanthropy and isolating, until I get bored or just wake up one day and ambitiously plan something, leading to regret, and cycle goes on...
Questions, thoughts: leave a comment. Thank you for your support and interest.

You have a great amount of insight for someone with BPD . I have CPTSD as it looks a bit like BPD although I don’t have the narcissistic core and lack of insight or splitting/dichotomous thinking that characterises it. I was in Aberdeen when I got given a book on DBT mindfulness by a psychiatrist but mindfulness and grieving my childhood losses has helped me. Though I still have massive addiction issues . I can tell by the accent your Scottish, same here I’m from the borders, Melrose but lived in Aberdeen for years. I hope you find a path and tools that work for you. For me the only thing that keeps me from sinking into suicidal depression ect is my passion for sport / boxing at the moment. I had a severe nervous breakdown in Aberdeen due to my alcoholism coupled with trauma bad mix 😵 take it easy mate as long as you learn to be okay with you, the right people will come to you.

Hey. I had a depression, social anxiety and anxious attachment type. When I tried to be more active, I made a huge tone of mistakes. I can't take my actions and awkward words back, but I have no regrets. Because I finally felt alive and that I do exist, and that my actions have consequences. I felt empty my whole life, and everything including my goals and hobbies was a burden. And I felt happy, only when I found something pleasant and deep out of my responsibility zone. Now I'm working on my fear of abandonment, and it's much easier when you have many connections. You don't need to have a huge circle of friends, but just being among people really helps. When you know how to make friends. And it's much easier than it seems. You don't need to be interesting. You can talk about nonsense, but if you have a spirit, nice aura or something, people will like you anyway. If you don't exist in the relationship, they will not be able to like you. If you're having a good time, they will be too. Despair is an absence of hope. You don't have a hope if you don't know what to do next to solve your problems. And if the only thing you have in your life is problems, then you'll have no energy. Concentrate on things that you like, that light you up, try to understand what you are and what you want. Goals, ambitions, aspirations, love for someone or something are what makes you alive. I hope that you will find your way too.

So grateful for you sharing your thoughts, especially at such a difficult time for you. I would never be able to sit in front of a camera and share my thoughts like you do, so bravo. I think you maybe just need the right kind of connections, on your terms perhaps? Time does have a habit of bringing people into your life quite unexpectedly. I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future, take care.

I think I mentioned I'd been on bumblebff; I'm having some luck in meeting a few matches in person. I'll continue trying out groups to meet people, effortful though they may be. thank you for listening to ne rant for 40 minutes 😆

It's absolutely fine, if it helps then it's all good. I found your earlier video on quiet BPD so was pleased to find that you'd just posted another update some years later. A lot of what you say is what a lot of us feel so it all helps to overcome the more difficult times just to hear another voice confirm what you're going through. Another point worth mentioning is that the pressure to get a job and be "normal" is very great, but more important is finding what you enjoy, what makes you happy. If you have a creative side, whether it's writing, drawing or videography for example, it may help you to progress. Take as small steps as possible, maybe try and enjoy the journey rather than the destination. Most people focus on the negative aspects of BPD, but I strongly believe that there are also positives there also. I do hope you find them in your "journey". Take care.

Hello, firsr of all, thank you for your video. I wish you all the best in your recovery. I have one question, are you doing dbt therapy? Or what therapy are ypu doing? Hugs!!!

hi, I actually recently got discharged from my therapist as she claims she's "taught me everything she knows" and thinks I should be self reliant for a while since i'd been seeing her for 2 years. she's an occupational therapist with a focus on mental health, we worked on behavioural activation, values, problem solving, self soothing. I've looked at the DBT acronyms/skills, and the stuff we did was similar. i might seek it out in the future if i struggle.
