I first saw QR and Randy live in 1977. I was quite young and still remember being just in awe of him as I stood there as a child ten feet from Randy as he just shredded.

Love this footage

I have been reading the bass player, Kelly Garni's, book called "Angels With Dirty Faces". Watching videos taken from the time of all the stories helps me with foundation. Here I can see they had not yet discussed the costumes they eventually were to wear, and yet, Kevin DuBrow was wearing suspenders already. Other things which come to mind is where Kelly talks about how he was a pretty busy boy on the fret-board. Here, I get to actually see what he was writing about. It reminds me of Cliff Burton's style (at times). In Kelly's book, he talks about how there was some contention between Kevin and himself about his playing style and Kevin often trying to tell Kelly what and how to play. I really wonder what Quiet Riot would have been like if Kelly was in the band rather than Rudy. BTW, reading Kelly's book is a great insight into this time. I am so thankful that Ron Sorbol was taking the time to archive this footage.
