Randy is an all-time legend. Gotta Give Shouts to Carlos Cavazo who plays on this song. Way underrated player & still around. This is a masterpiece for sure.
*Cheers for Carlos*! It's so nice to hear a kind word for him. He's suffered terribly from being compared to Rhoads by insensitive people. They're (were) very different guitarists, both gifted, both incredible.
If you got people that want channel the movie channel tube they have a documentary about Randy rhoads his life you might want to watch it it's pretty interesting Kevin dubrow took Randy rhoads death really hard and he started crying no he's up there with Kevin dubrow he's up with the greatest musicians ever
I’ve been listening to this song Thunderbird ever since it came out in 83. Randy was supposed to play on it. Then Randy died. I was 13. I still get teary-eyed to this very day 2022 listening to it. God bless you Randy Rhoads. You were the greatest. RIP in God’s hands for all eternity Randy, Kevin And Frankie .
Shedding a tear!! The brighter you shine, the more quickly you burn through your fuel. Some stars weren‘t meant to last, just to inspire. Kevin DuBrow, who wrote that song is also gone, sadly
And NOW, unfortunately Mr. FRANKIE BANALLI...😔.R.I.P. (To ALL my rocker guys influences taken away from us, as we struggle OURSELVES to get through this thing we call L.I.F.E.) The MUSIC IS ALWAYS FOREVER! 🤘🔥🤘
R.I.P. Randy...and Kevin. Now you two are reunited and may you rock for all eternity in the clouds. This song still gives me goosebumps today. First heard it when I was 14--people criticized me for liking 'old school' and being way out of style cuz it was the late 90s. CDs were in their big hayday but I had this on casette, later got the CD. Someone told me what this song was about--which further spurred me to get the Randy Rhoads tribute album of Ozzy. Funny how this song has never changed to me even though I've changed. I'm glad I got to at least meet Kevin and Frankie in 2006 after a small concert, a little more than 1 year before Kevin died. This world just gets stranger and stranger. Can't explain it. But the more you know, the more it drives the feeling, you know?
Beautiful tribute to Randy. Thanks for putting this together. It's pretty crazy..I don't really listen to much metal anymore but as the years go on I still find myself looking for anything with Randy as his passing probably hurt me more than any other musician while in my teens. He passed away just two weeks before I was supposed to see him destroy MSG as well as I would have seen him at the Speak of the devil show which as great as that was with Brad Gillis.. Randy would have taken it to a whole other level. Still missing you Randy 39 years later. Who knows what he would have done after the third album he would have done with Ozz. Whatever it would have been..it definitely would have been special. I think if he would have went to the classical guitar world he likely would have revolutionized that in the same way he did with metal. RIP Randy.. some people were just too great for this world and I'm sure he's got his angel wings just like the closing pic. ✌️💜🎵🎶🙏😇
Its interesting Kevin wrote this before Randy's untimely death. This song is about Randy leaving Quiet Riot hence the line. "Fly away to your new home across the seas" in reference to Randy's departure across the Atlantic to join Ozzy in England. This song really shows you the impact Randy had on Kevin as a performer and as a dear friend and also how hurt Kevin was by Randy's departure to his future endeavors that layed before him...When Kevin learned of Randy's passing by phone he didn't want to believe it so he went to turn the radio on and one station was paying Crazy Train and another station was paying Slick Black Cadillac off Quiet Riot ll and he looked down at his watch and it had stopped..thats when it hit him that Randy was gone..RIP Randy and Kevin
RIP Randy, Kevin e Frankie.
I have been a Randy fan since I first heard the Blizzard album shortly after it's release. I felt a strong connection to his playing. I have to be honest, I CANNOT hear this song EVER and not cry like a little girl.
I was a friend of randy . I went to the same high school that he did and he and my brother along with kelly Garney started there first band that was not yet a band because my brother sucked but it was loud. I was 10 years old they were 12 or so he would go on to be the best guitarist around burbank .There was always a lot of partys everything weekend and would play every weekend he was great . I Owe my life to randy no shit. I was at jack in the box after party or two and me and my buddy were in the parking lot and this biker dude , colors and all got in a fight with my friend and I helped my friend because he was big and he had a knife I knocked it out of the dudes hand and we were wrestling on the ground and the guy was going for the knife and out of nowhere Randy picked up the knife ad threw it on the roof of Jack in the box preventing the the guy from stabbing us . The biker somehow cut his hand there was lots of blood and I remember randy giving a statement to the cops
My ALL TIME FAVORITE GUITARIST of ALL TIME! From the onset of hearing Blizzard when it debuted (as I was already a little headbanger in the works at 8 friggin years old! Lol) I heard that opening riff of "IDK" then "CRAZY TRAIN" came tearing through my older sister's Pioneer super stack stereo on vinyl AND....😳 I have been a RHOADS FAN EVER SINCE...So MUCH so, I have the OZZY/RANDY TRIBUTE TATTOOED on my back with wings behind Randy as Ozzy's got the little genius guitarist hoisted up...And I am not a guitar player either, just an old school metal rock drummer of MOST my 47 years. Rock ON.....
Quiet riot never made it big with Frankie Kevin and Randy but now they’re in they can play and do their thing up in heaven and I’m sure it’s amazing can’t wait to get there and hear it
Life forever changed at the introduction of these great bands of musicians and forever changed at their passing . I still listen every day every chance I get as though it was yesterday and realize it's still only today. Rock in peace my brothers and sisters!
Guy I knew a couple years older, idolized Randy. Dude played guitar, was in a band, and saved his money to get a V he repainted with dots, when he got the news it crushed him.
Dedicated to Randy Rhoads. Died way too young on this day back in 1982. The guy that made me pick up a guitar when I was a kid. Much respect to Carlos Cavazzo for this song also! Awesome guitarist too!
I remember buying this album when it was first released. I bought it at Sam the Record Man (remember them)? The vinyl was $7.99 back then. Man, that was a long time ago.
I know the song is about Randy, but it so reminds me of my ant Candy who passed away this time last year...Fly on spread your wings to the sky!! Keep rockin' Quiet Riot
This is a very beautiful tribute which adds more to an already beautiful song. Thank you for doing this. Watching it on what would have been Randy's 60th birthday really brought tears to my eyes.
It sucks but so many people claim to love rock but have no idea who Randy Rhoads is but we know he's playing hard in heaven R.I.P. man and thanks for the tunes!!!
