Walking around the NS main line in Johnson City TN. Thank you David Sims for helping me with the phone because we all benefit from your awesome gift! www.paypal.me/...
Thanks Dave,, It's a very nice camera, the zoom was incredible and I really didn't notice the wind, Shoestring sounded good. Thanks,, you are very kind.
I don't know Dave, but I must say thanks for a being such a good friend to String. I watch his videos religiously and they will only get better from here!
As far as I can tell, you have a good phone there. Even with the wind blowing I can still hear you pretty good. Also when you back away from the phone and talk. Definitely better than the other phone. Picture quality is good too. Just thought I give you my 2 cents. Can’t wait for you next adventure with your new phone. Take care. Cheers!
THANK YOU, DAVE ! What a wonderful gift . I get a a lot of satisfaction, education and a feel for places I've heard of but will never see in our Country through these videos that Shoestring produces. To upgrade equipment and enhance output for us is a blessing. Shoestring, you obviously struck a chord with Dave and I'm glad you did. Thanks to both of you. Please stay safe and well. OUT.
Thank you Mark for making videos. You inspire me to get out when all I want to do is be a hermit in this crazy world, took my jeep in the woods last weekend and it felt good, and thank you David, you the man!!! Your thoughtful gift made it possible for Shoestring to make better videos, although I'd still watch if you filmed it on VHS lol.
I’ve watched all your videos and most of them twice and I must say your one intelligent son of a gun! I bet you walk into CSX or Norfolk or whoever! And tell them they need your consulting expertise and they’d hire you in minutes of listening to your railroad knowledge. I’m sure there’s plenty of people in their companies good at their jobs but I’m sure they’ve never seen one person that knows as much about every job and every railroad in this country. God Bless you my friend. You’re something special.
Shoestring has spent his whole life out on the rails hoboing but yet he is very knowledgeable about all kinds of subjects makes me wonder where he learnted everything. He doesn't seem like he read a lot, kind of makes you wonder what he done before hoboing. Thanks agian for sharing your time with us Shoestring. It has really helped me with being stuck in house..
IQ of 141.... Born with asperger's syndrome and I just learn different than others. From age 4 to 18 my face was in books like college books and encyclopedias and almanacs.
looks real good, nice and crisp video and good audio too. I see the wind in that grass but dont hear it, your voice is coming through loud and clear, even the background noise seems dampened down. nice camera phone.
Cool bro. Lookin forward to the new videos. 🤣😂🤣 I lived in a Airplane Hangar for a few years and i was in a Golfball Sized Hail Storm once and it was UNBELIEVABLE LOUD 😂😂 I also got caught out in a Pasture on a John Deer 60 cuttin brush and another Golfball Hail Storm got me and all I had for cover was under the Tractor. If ya dont know a John Deer 60 ain't but about 18 inches wide and I STILL got the 💩 beat outta me🤣😂🤣😂BTW. THANKS DAVE!!!!!!!! YOU THE MAN!!!!!That camera is GREAT...Its like you got your own professional camera crew following you around😳👍
Good sound. Good picture. Good color. Good stabilization. Good zoom. Good grief! This camera takes 15 pounds off you, adds 3” to your height, gives you whiter teeth and a brighter smile. I’m not 100% sure if it’s just me, but I think it makes you smell better, too! LOL... Safe travels, Shoestring! Cheers! Whipple
Yes Shoestring you're right that flood was in 1993. I was living just north of St. Louis and I remember looking out my window and seeing houses floating down the river
I know what you mean by that super loud noise, Shoestring. When I was a kid, I lived in Biloxi Mississippi when Hurricane Camille came through. We sheltered in a classroom building at Keesler AFB (my dad was in the USAF and was an instructor there). These buildings don't have windows because the materials they teach in them are classified, so it was fairly safe. I remember at one point in the middle of the night I needed to use the men's room. The men's room was where one of only two windows in the building were located (the other being the women's room). The window was about six inches square and was mounted way up high in a corner of the room. The sound of the rain hitting that tiny window was so loud that you couldn't hear anything else. In fact, someone could have been screaming as loud as they could an inch from your ear and you wouldn't have been able to hear them.
You should do audio books, just talking and telling us all the adventure and all the knowledge you got about the rail life, I'm pretty sure that some thousands off followers will love to hear!!!! Thank you shoestring, you the best!!!!👍👍👍
Whatever makes you smile, and I think you have found your happy spot.😆 some people never do find there rail road in life.😑 I am very happy you found yours. Ta ke care my brother, from Tacoma, Wa. I work right next to the switch yard there, always womder if youre going by while I am working. So long my fteind, peace to you.✌
Wow, this footage and clarity/color is amazing. I've learned so much watching your videos about trains and railroad practices let alone the interesting stories and locations you visit - great job!
I could listen to this train barnacle tell stories all day. You should to a shoestring Sunday story or Sunday special story time with shoestring where you do one story every week.. even if it’s just a quick one.. a weekly video everyone can look forward to.. think about it.. you should get some T-shirts made too.. just saying I would probably get one.. everyone on RU-vid has shirts n cup’s n stuff... “ this ol train barnacle “ with a pic of you or something haha.. just a thought bud
I would have loved, I mean loved to run in this dude!!! Wish I could go looking for him now but he on that “Westbound” I got to at least head out to Chicago from Indianapolis and then come back on different train! RIP
Looks great! You can even shoot in 1080p since that’s what RU-vid uses, you won’t notice a difference between 4K and 1080p and will save space on your phone. :)
Video quality is great! I suggest that you set up a video default setting for 4K video with as fast FPS that phone will permit. We look forward to your future videos. Stay safe.
That loading dock was at one time the Southern Railway freight warehouse. There were several docks and they loaded/unloaded LCL (less than load) freight.
Nice day for a walk in Johnson City, Camera works excellent. I think your friend Dave very kind of him. Looking forward to more videos of different places. The next piece of equipment you need is a smart drone. They're getting built better and stronger and cheaper I'm sure you could easily handle a drone.
First off, thanks David for being so generous to gift The String w/this sweet new cell phone cam. Great quality here. The other cam was pretty good, but this is a step up. Stay safe, Shoestring and stay warm, the cold weather is approaching.
I, personally, want to extend a sincerely heartfelt thank you to the 'Hobo Shoestring' RU-vid channel Subscriber who provided Mark with the new Samsung phone. 👏 👍 The camera quality is really good! Camera long distance view is better, colour is more vivid and images are more detailed. Nice. 👍 😎
