Quillable Nathan K5LA and Custom Amtrak P42DC Sounds for ESU LokSound 5

This took quite a while to make! The two stage horn is simulating the dual Graham White 501 solenoid as used in the Genesis series as well as the Acela, HHP-8, and F59PHI. Part of an entire custom Amtrak P40/42 sound project I'm working on, as well as a P32ACDM variant. More videos coming soon with additional features as described in the video.
The "flyby" sound effect shown in this video is not mine, it is from one of Matt Donnelly's videos, so I am not including it in the version I am selling. I will substitute one of my own recordings.

Hey! I’ve been dying to get a hold of your P42 sounds for years, ever since those videos you put up. Your project, and its unavailability, lol, was what sparked my interest in doing this. I am actually going on a recording trip tomorrow to get the rest of the sounds I need.

I got the Sounds on my P42DC and it’s a Real Attention Getter Among the public as it makes the locomotive even more Realistic especially when u can Quill the horn when leaving the station or Blasting by a Crossing.

How munch for a decoder?

Is there notch 7-8? It looks like it doesn't instantly notch-up (from HEP to 7) unlike esu's stock file which would be correct. Can you confirm?

This uses a different ESU base file for the non-HEP mode 7FDL that does have notch 7 and 8. I’m not sure why ESU chose to remove those for their P42 file, but it’s completely inaccurate. For HEP mode, my file uses completely new custom sounds that transition from ESU’s idle to 900 rpm HEP mode.

Yes they are, they make full use of the V5's 16-bit capabilities. I also have an 8-bit version for the V4 decoders.

@@Bryce_TBS_Films he charged $30 for the file alone, or if he’s got decoders he just tags on whatever price the ESUs are currently going for. I bought the decoder from him as well and put it in my vets unit. Honestly one of the best projects I’ve purchased and would highly recommend!

Do you have other horns on CV163 to change Horns like, Raised Letter K5LA for P42DC, and Hybrid other K5LA’s and the Other Quill Narrow Front K5LA and from the 803 and 9 for the P42DC That will match the Prototype of the GE P42DC, and Radio Chatter?

@@dlm1228 The whoop compressor is heard in this video. The non-HEP mode sounds are not custom, they are the ESU provided GE prime mover.

I don’t do N scale installations myself, but my file is compatible with any LokSound 5 decoder including the N scale versions. Whoever does your install can load the file.

@@amtrak706 gotcha. No, I can't seem to find anyone to do N scale installations. I have nothing but newest run Kato locomotives but I don't dare do that type of work lol I'll contact you if I'm ever ready for sound files! I love this file for the P42, so accurate. The HEP sounds very good.

The file is compatible with ESU LokSound decoders, and can be written to a decoder using a LokProgrammer.

@@eclipz4129 You would pay for the file that is opened and written to the decoder using the LokProgrammer software on a Windows PC. A LokProgrammer device is required to connect to the PC via USB. If you are looking for general familiarization I would suggest you go on ESU’s website.

@@amtrak_modeler1566 It is a file download. It is compatible with LokSound 5 and LokSound V4.0 decoders only, as the LokSound Select does not support custom sound projects unfortunately. If you don't have a V4 or V5, I can sell you a decoder with the project installed on it if you would prefer that.
