This quilt started with a gift. My friend Hanna Bovsunovska makes ecoprints, dyes fabrics with plants, so I tried working with such a treasure for the first time) This quilt is a reflection of the moment in which I am now. When there is a lot of everything... War, suffering, but also bright and strong people. Everything the most terrible and everything the most beautiful at the same time. When the quilt was finished, I realized that subconsciously I was inspired by the works of a wonderful artist, a quilter who has a special freedom in working with fabrics. Amazing. Such a shame there aren’t enough hours in the day for you to write your patterns. Could you possibly get someone else to do that so you can go on with your amazing designing/sewing? I would gladly pay any price for every one of your patterns! Your devoted followers will more than pay his or her salary. You are by far the master of quilt designing - wish I was talented enough to make a quilt just by watching you do it. Thank you again for another masterpiece.

Watching your process as you build the quilts is really enjoyable:) Loved seeing you make the paper pieced triangles for the circles. I have not tried that technique, so it is on my wish list. Chris's artistry with fabric is challenging to my eyes. I appreciate his talents and statements, yet I do not linger. I find your fabric art more enjoyable and something I want to spend time with, both to relax into and to be excited about sewing and playing with fabric and color and shape.

@@oltasquilts2725 I am adding a level of brave for me that is adding colors that are outside what I consider "safe" matches. I laugh at that but I've been looking at fabrics and thinking it doesn't match well enough. Instead I'm going to look at them and wonder if they are just far enough away from matching to add some life and excitement and movement to my quilt. This was some great advice I got from quilter Amy Dement. My level of brave is still fairly safe to be honest. If you take on being "brave enough" - what could that look like for you? I imagine life has given you a lot of practice being brave.

On the other hand, wanting to be brave - that is a beautiful choice we can all make more often:) Thank you for having me think about this more deeply.
