You are awesome, the quilt is epic, and such a treasured gift. I hope Bernina does recognize you for your talent, and has you as a sponsored artist. PS I finally got my first new machine a Bernina 570 QE after 67 years of many second hand machines I wore out. I retired from 35+ years of nursing, and finally gave myself a retirement gift, it’s 2 yrs old, with 6 million stitches on it already. Make quilts for charity, and with my Guild. Loving my new life. Keep up the great programing, and ideas. 😊
Bobert is a very lucky person to have received such a wonderful quilt. Dave, you are talented beyond words and soooooo brave. Thanks for sharing your genius. Very sincerely, J
Hi Dave, I just cannot get enough of your quilting idea videos. You are a true artist, you work wonders with textiles and different fabrics. Besides being a textile genius, you are very entertaining and you seem too enjoy yourself as this truely works for your creative genes. As long as you continue produced this videos, I will be a faithful watcher and learner.
I made a Star Wars quilt last month and it looked nothing like yours. I only had 5 different fabrics (3 I saw on your quilt). My great grandson loved it, but I love yours even more. Thank you for sharing
Hi Dave. I have saved this quilt video to watch later since I have a Star Wars quilt in process for my husband, but I think I will be breaking into my older/original fabrics collection and add more appliques from an unused curtain in the border that I have been struggling to finish. Usually when I seem to be getting close to finishing a quilt, I get into my quiltblock stage where I just can't work on it at all. It's like I don't have to give it away if I don't finish it. But this one will stay with me too, so not sure what my real problem is. lol. I just LOVE your subject collages! The quilt within a quilt, the layering of the appliques... Just wonderful!
@Bernina what are you waiting for!!! Dave, when you first placed the Star Wars lettering on the blank design wall, I could feel your creative process begin to build. Once again you don't dissapoint!
Holy. Cow! Once again….mind….blown! I’m getting ready to make a tshirt quilt for Karie, might have to take some tips from you, mine are pretty tame in comparison. ❤❤❤
I love your process always and I’m always looking to see if you’ve posted yet. Lol. I know you have a life, so I patiently wait and forward to viewing your next video. Their is a charm about you and a couple of my favorite things you do is when you extra emphasize your t’s and pop your tongue. It is super cute and funny. Just love you.
Dave, check out the Bernette 77. Knee lift, integrated dual feed, and you can program the foot control to tie off and cut when you back step it. Pricier than your singer but more reasonable than other machines with the same features.
Another amazing quilt., the appliqué takes it to the next level. I love that you use t-shirts, sheets and cotton together in your quilts, showing that the fabric can vary. Thanks for sharing, I truly enjoy watching you as you work through the layout of the quilt.
Wow Dave, This Quilt is Fantastic ❣️❣️❣️ I’m sure that Bobert will Cherish Quilt Forever. You are an Amazing Fiber Artist and you’re lots of Fun, I Love this Quilt. 👍❣️Chris
Another stunning quilt. I just found you tonight and have already watched 15 of your videos. You are a true artist and your ability to just create out of thin air makes me quite envious. I have a Baby Lock machine and it has all of the things on your wish list and was just over $1000 dollars so you should check it out even though Bernina would be smart to sponsor you :)
Wow! Another! You are so fearless and imaginative! Bernina should definitely sponsor you! You have some amazing friends! Keep sharing and inspiring the rest of us.
Where did you get the fabric sheet with the star war words. They look really large. I would like to use you idea of the applique. I have all my fabric for a quilt for my grandson. Yours is very inspiring.
I have a Bernina 930 record that I have been using since the 80s. It doesn't cut the thread But I don't like that feature anyway because half the time it comes un threaded on my Jukie. You should keep an eye out for 1 they are a work horse machine I recently attended A presentation by someone who makes Ecclesiastical garments professionally and every body he Has sewing for him is using the bernina 930. They do come up periodically on marketplace and would run about300-600 dollar. I really think these overpriced computerized machines are just too much and they miss the point of what a quilt is. They are not about conspicuous consumerism And a couple of my friends who have them talk to me out of my Fomo by telling me just how finicky they are and how many $70 feet they had to buy to get 1⁄4" seam. Not for me.
I love my singer quantum stylist 9960. You can personalize projects with 600 built-in stitches, including built-in lettering. Extension table and hard dust cover included $350 included accessories 600 stitches including letters for any fabric Stitch sequencing with memory Consistent buttonholes with 13 one-step buttonhole styles Convenient stitch selector with stitch style/width/length The Quantum Stylist 9960 sewing machine is the perfect tool for the budding designer. Give every piece a personal touch with five stunning fonts and 600 built-in stitches. Mix stitches and lettering to create unique stitch sequences for endless possibilities of customized projects. Many stitches can be mirror imaged and elongated for even more creative options. Use the Needle Up/Down feature for easy pivoting like sewing on a pocket, top stitching, free-motion quilting, applique and more. Set the maximum sewing speed of the machine where you want it with the Speed Control - faster for long seams like those on curtain panels, or slower for more intricate projects - you're always in control. The Top Drop-in Bobbin is easy to thread and easy to see, so you won't run out of thread in the middle of a seam. When you're done stitching, a simple press of the Thread Trimmer Button will cut both the top and bottom thread, saving you time. This machine has all the features you need to get your masterpieces runway-ready.
