This was pretty much a perfect game from Quinn. He did everything you would ask of him and then some. Damn near every throw was pin point accurate, perfectly placed and on time. He had complete command of the offense. He stood tall in the pocket and maneuvered well when needed. I'm so excited for him and this team. I know NFL scouts are drooling.
i counted 8 catchable passes that were incomplete because the receivers couldn’t catch or couldn’t hang on. Ewers should’ve been 32 of 38 instead of 24/38. the receivers got all season to work on it before they go bowling
at should have been 48 - 24. 2 TD passes dropped. But a win is a win especially in the heart of SEC country. 13 yrs of frustration ended Sat. Now take care of Wyoming.
Wr drops was a problem last year. Bijan was the only one next to sanders a roschon that didn't drop much of anything worthy hand was broken so hopefully the team overall can play great team ball and eventually a few big time catches and smart defense will win them games
Ewers has an insanely quick release. He has such arm talent that he doesn’t need perfect footwork to make throws. Reminds me of Mahomes, but really he reminds me of Rodgers. I think when he’s on Ewers can make any throw he wants.
More of a Dan Marino IMO big arm and quick release but not as mobile as Mahomes and Rodgers. He’s gonna have to tweak his throwing motion at the next level though or he’s gonna get a lot of balls batted down.
I’d say more Mahomes than Rogers. Mahomes in college threw very similarly. Didn’t have the best footwork, and really aired out a lot of balls off pure arm slinging (given his baseball background too). He only averaged 63.5% at Tech, so he wasn’t super accurate either. He was a sheer gunslinger. Quinn reminds me of Pat in college when it comes to throwing. But I think Ewers’ pure arm strength is slightly superior than Mahomes.
@@CrimsonUniverse22 Mahomes receivers dropped a ton of balls at Tech so it wasn’t a accuracy issue. Ewers doesn’t have the scrambling ability of Mahomes his game is more similar to Dan Marino with the rocket arm and quick release.
Every loss a Nick Saban coached Alabama team involved stellar play from the quarterback position. What surprised me most was the way Texas pushed and mauled Alabama's offensive line. Haven't seen that in forever. Time will tell if Texas is for real or did they just beat a weak Alabama team. Hookem...
I see a lot of Dan Marino in this kid! I’m not a UT fan but I’ve followed him since his Ohio State days. The talent is there just hope his mental is strong enough for the next level.
I'm a michigan wolverines season ticketholder and the game against Ohio st I'm like "where do these people come from?" They get about 25% of our stadium
Great video! Ewers was the MVP! Alabama got so many penalties. Their penalties were like giving the Longhorns an extra player on the field…denying touchdowns and taking yardage. There must be a culture at Alabama that encourages aggression that results in penalties and injuries to opposing players. Bama needs to clear out their football program and start teaching players that you can win by playing a clean game. Alabama plays dirty football. They’re bleeding after this loss. Crimson Tide indeed.
5:10 I'm worried for Bama. That whole "hit them with your shoulder pads instead of actually tackle them" thing on this play was a hallmark of late-stage Mack Brown at Texas. It's one of the cracks you see when a program is crumbling.
Totally, it took a few years or more to break Texas from those bad habits. I mean those are basic fundamentals, but I think it really speaks to players being overwhelmed at times and can only think to pop instead of wrapping up.
You see those every week in college and nfl. Players on any level don't know how to tackle anymore. It's one of the things that have ruined nfl. As for Mack Brown, Muchamp should have stayed as DC in Texas, because the guy was a terrible head coach. And Major Applewhite should have played Malcolm Brown and ran him like a workhorse. And developed Case Mccoy over Ash. And honestly they would have been competitive.
@@thecensoredmuscle563 if muschamp doesnt get greedy and leave texas they win another natty easy but he had to take the money and become the man at florida. Auburn didn't really act like the missed him either
I watched the first 3 throws. Arch Manning transfer portal next year. That second throw where he just drops sidearm to get around the backer. That's not taught.
The excuses for drops last year was broken hand. This year adonai and jt even jwhitt become the true pass catchers and worthy is becoming strictly a yac guy. Worthy is averaging 3 drops a game
This ain't that. Tape dont lie texas also didn't even have many penalties against bama. With that play calling and discipline i would expect a talented team to absolutely wreck shop after beating bama physical and disciplined. The writing is on the wall but texas has taken the bama philosophy and simply added more offense to it. 5 wide sets against alabama shows pure confidence in pass pro for texas. The fact they think they can pull it off will keep defensive coordinators up at night why? Texas now has a nasty oline to go with nasty skill players lol and now add ewers into that if bama of all the defensive pass rush to face cant sack ewers in 5 wide nobody else will have a chance. I was texas biggest hater but i watched film of the lsu natty team thats what it looks like when an sec team gets an elite qb nothing is guna stop texas this year but texas. Ewers reminds me of burrow but more confident. Ewers is in front of camera's and everything boasting lol texas will either go undefeated or have 2 losses this year. Fsu mich Georgia usc in the playoffs
Ewers looked great, but after only seeing 2 games of the season, I'd pick the guy from Texas Tech or Sheduer Sanders ahead of him.. Ewers would be the 3rd pick of the board to me..
@@SmooveClipsss I didn't say they were worse, I said i would pick those 2 players ahead of Ewers.. Go ahead and re-read the post.. That dude from Texas Tech, whatever his name is, is a beast.. Did you see him play? I never heard of the dude until yesterday.. Never seen him play til yesterday.. But what he did yesterday was way better than anything i ever saw from Bo Nix.. I never seen Drake Maye play.. I seen some Caleb Williams highlights.. He looks good.. But i think Caleb is over-hyped a bit.. Like how Kyler Murray was.. I haven't seen Michael Penix play.. I heard he is good.. I never even seen any highlights on him.. Never been interested... But Sheduer is hella fun to watch.. Seen his last 2 games.. Over 900 yards in 2 games... And that dude from Texas Tech looked better that Bo Nix in that game... If we had a draft, you take Bo Nix and I'll take that Texas Tech Dude...
what's going on announcers just keep praising ewers; he overthrows so many attempts. giving credit is great, but giving honest praise truthfully would be better. feels like a gaslight to create some kind of excitement.
I have two comments. 1. Texas receivers suck. Big time. They stink. 2. Is this a UT channel. I'm now 1/3rd of the way through the 3rd quarter of the game in the video and there hasn't been even one play shown of Alabama.
Let's give credit where it is due.......the offensive line looks formidable, at least this game. They gave Q time to throw. Key moment in the game when Q fumbled on short fourth down attempt and his back picked it up and got first down. That could of changed the outcome of the game.
Sarkisian and Ewers can take this longhorn team to a national title. the more ewers get comfortable trusting plays the better the offense responds. this game highlights it
Alright, let’s pump the brakes. Championship/Heisman talk after the second game is nonsense. They need to focus on winning the conference and actually getting to the playoffs before you start talking National Championships. This is definitely a great start but, UGA, Michigan, and FSU are on Bama’s level if not better. We’ll see what happens.
