Scientifically it doesn’t have the components like nicotine that causes addiction, the addiction comes from the rush of dopamine you get after smoking. So you’re technically addicted to the feeling of weed, if you managed to find something that gives a similar rush that isn’t harmful to you, you’d less likely because addicted. Sadly addictions stems from our brain wanting dopamine to preserve it’s self

@@beeeeeeep6834 Good luck bro. You got it. I'm on day 4. The dreams and insomnia is real. You have to really want to quit or you will go back. I have been smoking medical concentrate for a long time and overall 20+ years. I have had some crazy dreams lately. I usually smoke when I play video games. But I am done for good this time. I will be saving money and my sanity. After 2 weeks it usually not too bad. I have quit once before. I hardly ever do it socially and it's probably the reason I have been such a shy person in the past. Stick to it if you really want it. I have been getting bad anxiety as well. I will make it. @@zkilla4611 You’re spot on. I’m 1 month 10 days in and I’m starting to sleep just as good as I did when I smoked after smoking for 15 years. I can actually remember my dreams now. Lol They’re so vivid, it’s crazy. The best feeling is getting your power back and actually being in control and realizing your worth without it. There is a difference between the substance being addictive or being dependent. Weed makes you dependent on it where you need it to eat or to sleep… While nicotine for example is an addictive substance and will be more mental craving or you wont even notice.

@@justinplourde9576 bs. Smoked it for years. I know first hand that is complete bullshit. It pushes you brain to make a lot more dopamine. That why you feel good and happy. From blunts to joints to cartridges and everything in between. It’s a terrible feeling and everything around me makes me want to relapse. You have to want it. Not for other people, but for yourself. I want to let anyone know that doesn’t think they can do it. You definitely can. If I could do it so can you. I was dependent on marijuana for SO long to sleep, eat, and to go out. Been a regular user of weed for years (on and off since 2015) with many periods lasting many months where I smoked all day every day. I began to have horrible feelings of negative self image and feeling like I was hearing things when I was smoking weed every few hours. I have tried many times to get off of it, but the portability of the cartridges makes it too easy to relapse. I am now sober and I can tell you that I feel like I have super powers. I am perceptive of my surroundings, able to have deep meaningful convos with others, and able to play music at a higher level than I ever could while I was high. My dreams in the first week of quitting were absolutely insane and frankly terrifying, but, once that passed, my sleep improved and I now am able to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to get stuff done. I feel more intelligent after quitting as my ability to recall things has increased significantly. I am also able to live in the moment more than I ever could when I was high. If you are thinking about quitting, try it. It’s hard, but take it one day at a time, you’re worth it. The other side is beautiful.

I took my first hit in 2020 when I was 16 at the beginning of lock down and the very next day I got a disti. I haven't gone a day since without being high. I lost a lot of weight due to loss of appetite, my friends know I ain't the fun-alive person I used to be, I dropped out and started working so I could at least say I'm doing something. Weed isn't the worst drug but it just makes u comfortable with being bored, a lot of people have different experiences and maybe better self-control but all I know is I gotta make a change. I miss going on trips with my family and just being a normal person, I forgot what it feels like to have a clear mind. I feel my memory getting worse and worse, I just wanna spend time with the people I love.

You really want to hold off on smoking at your age man. I started consistently when I was 16, I'm 24 now and trying to quit once again. Cannabis really does fuck with the adolescent brain. And all that stuff in your life you say you miss, going out with your family, having a clear mind, etc will get worse if you continue to smoke. Yea weed isn't as bad as other drugs but it can still fuck you up even more being so young. It stunts the brain from fully developing. And it affects things like decision making, problem solving, and so many other things. It will affect you man if you keep it up, I know that from personal experience. Better to just find something else that gives you a kick of dopamine like cannabis does

If you're watching this and are about to quit smoking, just know the first 3 days suck. You're going to be irritable, frustrated, and anxious. But look, it's okay. You're not going to die. You're not going to torpedo your life. Just know it's coming, accept it, and try to mitigate it with positive things in your life. Plan 3 days of being outside, exercise, seeing positive friends, and change your routine up a bit. If you usually smoke before bed at a certain time and you know a certain activity is going to trigger you, avoid that whole environment. For me personally, I know that when I work late nights I want to smoke. I tried to switch my schedule up that week so that I avoided the environment I knew I'd feel anxious about. I can't stress exercise enough. Hard shit too. Run fast, get really out of breathe, hike, swim, get outside and move. Read, too. Reading and journaling every day help. I just write on my laptop. I open it up and just bang away in a word document about what I'm feeling , what's going on in my life. It's like talking yourself off a cliff. Avoid screens, stay the heck off social media. Just detox from the world for 3 days. On day 4 you'll feel pretty good. Then it's just a matter of habit. You may relapse. If you can do a month with no weed (and alcohol if you can help it) you'll learn what mental clarity feels like, and if you do relapse you'll immediately understand how cloudy it makes you. I prefer clarity these days. I still smoke occasionally. Sitting around a bonfire with my best friends I'll still take a hit, but I have a healthy relationship with it. That's they key. A healthy and strong mind and heart. You can do it.

Now it’s like 3-5 spliffs a day for 2 yrs now , So far I can literally stop on my own but when my bf buys it I give in. So hard when the bad habit is right next to you 24/7. So I’m convincing him to stop everyday. Reading this just still gives me so much hope. I want to get back to that healthy habit where I did it on occasion. Tired of the couch potato feeling. Want to feel refreshed ❤ thank you.

I did it a couple of times, but somehow I always end up daily smoking again. But my past pause lasted half of the year! I know I can do it, but I don’t know how not to get back to it after a while. But I like clarity, I like being sober. And then there are times when I miss being stoned … but I think there are more negative things than positive being a daily weed user. I am 29 and I’ve been smoking since I was a teenager (14-15 years old), usually daily for so many years, with the exceptions of quick breaks and two larger pauses. So almost 15 years of daily smoking. My brain honestly has enough, I can feel it. But my soul craves it. I want to live differently but sometimes I don’t, sometimes I just want to forget every thing, smoke a joint and live in a bubble. This society can be so cruel …

Drink water , believe me kadie after the first 3 days you ll feel the difference. I sleep better appetite is back i can taste what i eat now , enjoyin it to be fair. Try to avoid people who smoke. You really need a mindset that you want to quit thats really important. You´re 23 you know what it is, before you know it ur 30 and threw the best years of ur live in the bin like me. I'm addicted to weed. I really wish I had friends to help me and care for me. I have no friends. I have my family but I'm so addicted thst I am stuck in a rut that I cannot get out of. I'm worrying myself sick and I have no medical nsurance because it's too much. I struggle with sleep, depression anxiety, panics that make me feel like I'm dying, irritability. Eating problems, mental disorders that I don't know how to handle, and I always feel tingly and uneasy. I love everyone so much.

Sounds like quitting weed will help with a lot of that. I've been a heavy smoker for 20 years. Every single day for well over ten years without missing. I the negatives crept up on me and became undeniable. The brain fog was so real and my memory started to become comparable to an alzheimer patient. All the things I thought weed were helping me with it was really worsening. I'm only a month without and already feeling much better. I can't wait until my motivation and drive comes back. Still not quite there yet. But so much has improved. Keep it up. I'll be your friend. Weed has made me very antisocial over the years and given me social anxiety. So now I need to start socializing again too.

Waking up during the night 2-3 times and smoking each time. then first thing when I got up, and would usually have 2 - 3 bowls at once. and smoke all day until i passed out. For me it was a conversation with a doctor that informed me that I should not be driving if I'm smoking, this is the reason I needed to stop. It so easy for someone to tell you stop, ive been through years of therapy, diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Now getting assessed for ADHD. If i can stop smoking, anyone can! Hey, I’m 25 and smoked almost daily heavily for 10 years. I would also smoke in bed ect. The best thing for me was talking to people who don’t smoke or who are anti drugs. To analyse people around me, successful people, ask questions. I think the negative side effects of abusing weed (smoking more than the rare occasion) are staggering and alarming. The biggest issue is the side effects slowly creep up on you, unwillingness to try new things, to get up, it can cause paranoid thinking patterns and psychological dissociation. It puts your energy back, your true self behind a hazy blanket. Time moves faster, nothing much needs to be done to feel okay, the more time spent high the less time spent doing things that will actually make you feel happy to be alive... This is just my personal list but I hope sharing it will help you to quit if not at least lessen usage. I also find it great to read forums about people who were addicted and quit, how it went and what to expect. Best of luck! PS: remember when you were a kid and there was this sense of magic, this engaged feeling of whats happening in your life, I think this will be somewhat regained :)

I was reading through these same comments 2 months, 1 week ago searching for more motivation. Here I am 2 months, 1 week later, clean. Once you enforce WHY you want to quit, you fight through the urges like wildfire to get to the other side. To meet your true self again. It’s rewarding to not feel conquered anymore and gain your control back. F*ck everyone else’s opinions. Do it on your time but with PURPOSE when you do. You got this.

Next week i'll be 3 months clean and I'm happier for no reason, its easy to save money now, toxic relationships are long gone, sleep is better. My tips are simple: You have to find natural dopamine replacements in order to not relapse or feel depressed. For me 1. Music, music is always cool, high or not. Go back to those songs that move you. 2. Exercise. If you already do, continue and set new goals. If you dont, now is the time to start, its better than you think! 3. Food. I've been on and off edibles and only edibles from age 21 to 24. I just decided to quit for good and it's been 10 days already. I don't have a lot of people to share this with because I was a closeted stoner, so reading all the comments in here helps so much more than the actual video itself. I took it as a substitute for antidepressants, and to increase my appetite as well as get rid of my nightmares. I also have mild social anxiety and with weed I felt like anything was possible but the lingering fear of addiction and dependency remained. I don't want to feel like that anymore. I'm broke as hell rn and messing up my pursuit in further education. I knew in my head that using marijuana would just be a gateway to a lot of other bad decisions that I've already made and will make in the future, but addiction is a scary thing that will have you by a chokehold without you knowing. Thankfully, I am a recovered alcoholic and know what absolute sobriety feels like. It feels great. I'm tired of what weed does to my life. I can't heal, I am not all I can be. I sit in my room a lot. It's not enough of a life. I think I have a form of CHS. Praying this ends soon and I see the light on the other side. To those whose symptoms are strong, hang in there, it's normal. Hi guys so I am 316 days in now. And I really wanna pick up a bag or convincing myself I would be okay to pick up some edibles. I know deep down this Is my addictive side wanting this to escape. If you have recently stopped it doesn't matter a day a week or year you will always want this feeling Weed feels amazing. I miss it so much. However there is a plus More money no paranoid sense of mind no chasing after your dealer no waiting around. And I have to remind my self the bad out weighs the good. Don't get me wrong most days I want a bag. Today especially... nothing significant has happened I just want to escape and feel numb. What I've noticed this feeling will never disappear there is something deep inside to escape. Whether you're depressed anxious got adhd or autism or anything else you'll always want that feeling/release. I've gone nearly a year and I think this is closest I'd love a bong. To those that are struggling.. thinking do i need rehab. You don't its a choice I know you might not think that but it is. I was in the same boat. If you want to stop you will. Some days are better than others alot of the time they are better but nearly a year in stopping the feeling is still there. I jusr think do you want to waste all this time being stoned not being here

This is a very good video for those that are fighting any addiction. That said, with me having a very loving relationship with MJ for over 50+ years, whenever I think that maybe I should quit for awhile and take a break, I realize that my why for doing that isn't very strong. This medicine enhances my life like so many other wonderful things, unlike alcohol that destroyed my life for 10 years in the 80's. My why not to take a drink is very strong and I haven't had one since December 30,1989. So I have learned that we really need to have a reason for why and why not for everything we do or even believe.

That’s so true that’s what I am trying to put into my Brain, today is day 1 for me no weed , weed has completely ruined my life because I don’t have self dicispline, but I must start now , my reason why must like you said be a strong reason and remind me every single day , I am planning on meditating and just changing my life for the better , it starts today my journey and that reason why must be IMPLANTED in my brain so I don’t relapse like I always do

@@djswirley1 I feel you. What I have learned is the importance of commiting, then following through. Example, if you commit to wake up tomorrow morning at 6am, then meditate for 30 minutes followed by writing down your commitments for the day, then it is imperative that you get up at 6am. At that moment your why kicks in to get you out of bed. You can and will do IT(whatever your it is), as long as you don't give up.

I started smoking weed in 1994 and have been smoking daily since. I have quit numerous times but always started again. Usually it lasted like a month, sometimes a couple of months. The first couple of weeks are usually hard, difficulty sleeping, night sweats, irritable, mood swings, depression. But I can force myself through it on will power. I tend to think about smoking weed, my addiction, my struggles etc, but I don't have any cravings. The hardest part for me is when I start to feel normal again and I get to the point thinking I will never do this again ever, suddenly I get really bad cravings. They say cravings just take 5 to 10 minutes, but for me they take hours, days. For days all I can think of is smoking weed and at the end I smoke one joint. Then for like 2 or 3 weeks I'm okay and not smoking and thinking about it, then again cravings. I smoke again. It then snowballs to the point I smoke daily again. So frustrating. I quit again. Day 10. Wish me luck I will never do it again.

Though you'll have to come of tincture as well, it was a huge help, and allowed me to break the mental obsession without physical withdrawal. As opposed to breaking the physical, then dealing with the obsession later. Don't use the tincture for long, it can kick up the obsession again.

Society has let go of the reality that ANY drug can be addictive and marijuana has been thrown out the window because it’s becoming more lenient. But in all reality it CAN be addictive. I’ve been smoking weed everyday for the past 10 years and can’t go a day without it. It’s embarrassing to say it but it’s true. The stigma of weed not taken seriously is what prevents a lot of us to not seek help, but we need it. There were a few times that I stopped because of a goal I wanted to attain for myself but as life goes on my care for giving a f*** about what people think led me to continue use. It really is hard to quit but I want to dearly. Calling for help is my first step to that.
