As a former Green Beret, I had to be proficient in the application of a combat carbine while deployed operationally throughout the world. Here, I talk over an important combat carbine fundamental “Driving the Gun”. I have seen and employed many different applications to enhance my speed and accuracy while driving the gun. In this video, I talk over how I have taken different styles of “Driving the Gun” and developed a form that has worked for me. In my teachings, the proper employment of this form must be developed along with hand and eye processing speed. Understand how I have taken forms and teachings from martial arts and athletic sports to enhance my balance, power, footwork and reactive speeds.
Tu Lam (Retired U.S. Army Special Forces- Green Beret)--23 Years Full Spectrum Warfare, U.S. Army Special Operations worked throughout 27 countries worldwide. Team-Leader assignments in Unconventional Warfare, Foreign Internal Defense, Special Reconnaissance, Hostage Rescue, Direct Action and Counter-Terrorism Operations in permissive and non-permissive environments. Composite Special Forces team training and development team leader. Founder/CEO and Director of Training and Research Development for Rōnin Tactics Inc.

Starting vs advanced. How many white belts are in a martial art? How many black belts are in that martial art? Fewer still, How many masters? The bigger guntuber channels are good for people wondering, "What gun should I get?" These sort of tactics videos are advertisements for companies that are looking for people with the question "How do I become proficient with my gun?"

Glyph Suritos it’s pretty much just informing the other guy that the weapon is loaded
@ArkamasRoss
@ArkamasRoss 4 года назад
Glyph Suritos A common courtesy in weapon safety is to clear it before handing it to anyone. Gun counter attendants will typically do this. And in turn someone may maintain good practice by clearing one whenever they pick it up. It was a simple courtesy to inform/remind him of the weapon’s condition. Weapon safety comes before anything. “There’s nothing macho about guns” Hickock45 once said. The basic four rules are: treat every weapon as though it’s loaded; never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to destroy(never point one at someone with the excuse that it isn’t loaded - refer to rule 1); keep your finger off the trigger and; be sure of your target and anything behind or around it. Alongside those for me is rule 5: always maintain control of your weapon- in regards to off-body carry. Know the status of it. Even if you’re not an owner, it’s good to know these should you ever come across one and know how to safely handle it.
@robertwilson8184

@@ArkamasRoss Nobody gives a shit about what gun counter attendants do. That doesn't imply any real level of training or know-how on its own.

Its interesting to me how much overlap there is with hand to hand martial arts and combat firearm tactics. Not just in fighting principles but also in proper method of movement. Silat and Kali tactics have the same ideology that you present here of efficiency of movement and footwork. I always find it interesting how seemingly unrelated areas of practice have such overlap. It proves to me that there are unarguable truths in fighting. I found it most surprising though the shared concept of isolation of the lower and upper body movement.. blew my mind.

As a retired Deputy Sheriff in Los Angeles County that unfortunately had to use lethal force against a despicable gang member near Lynwood, CA I have great respect for tactical firearms training for civilians, especially in this era. There are thousands of “gun expert” channels with experienced instructors, (which I hope there are more by the day,), BUT it makes me irate that these persons in a position of great authority are almost unanimously standing upright shooting at metal or paper targets with no dynamic movement or applicable scenarios. This isn’t the time to impress people with the hobbies and skills of range shooters, this is the time to let people learn about realistic situations and mindsets that occur when under deadly attack. Your training is the best I’ve scene. When I was under fire and had to either evade or kill to survive, I was on my stomach, I was shooting with one hand due to my need to use my coms, my hand was wet from blood that was the result to diving into pavement when under fire, and I was disoriented and somewhat deaf from the close quarters combat environment. Your training is superior to that of two academies that I visited to discuss my shooting incident. Virtual reality doesn’t work, range shooting doesn’t work, you need to be uncomfortable, moving for cover, dealing with lack of orientation, unexpected injuries, etc. The Special Enforcement Bureaus, SWAT, and of course all of the military trained tactical response units receive elite scenario training; But civilians that are being sold out by their own politicians, and need real life dynamics now more than ever. I work at a major studio now doing threat assessments and I promise everyone that the liberals and celebrities that publicly state “nobody needs guns!” all have guns, have emergency evade and evacuation plans, and don’t go anywhere without highly experienced off duty or retired law enforcement, or special ops veterans guiding their exit. Once again, much Respect to you sir. Randomly came across your site for the first time and was very relieved to see realistic tactics taught to those that don’t have their heads buried in the sand. Listening to some teenagers discuss foot placement and hand grip is fine for country club target shooting, but when 3 gangbangers are spraying your car with an uzi and Ak-47’s in an ambush, you immediately go into a mental state of preparation due to the realistic training, or you’re dead. If I hadn’t been extremely acclimated to gunfire and lethal threats as was routine in my patrol region, I have no idea how myself or anyone else would have reacted. You are doing a very important service. God Bless!
