This cassette got heavy rotation in my 87 Corolla rolling to all the LA spots weekly nights. I copped it from Ken for $5 because I had to cop it twice because my first one got jacked out of the Corolla at the the Gotham house on rampart/Beverly. I always kept a couple change of clothes in the ride. Because who went home back in those day’s 🤣🤣 Also we would break in to spots. So we use to layer up. Loads of times had to bust a bum rush Break in the spot and rush to the speakers and just take off the top layer to throw off security if they had any that decided to look for us 🤣🤣 But I was a Junglist girl so I’d always pull it off 👊🏼😂 And not get caught. This tape if I recall was blueish turquoise metallic 😁 The heyday when our cassettes would get eaten by the tape deck from being played too much. Just brush some nail polish on it to mend it back together 😂
Hell yeah, the parties were always that much better when we snuck in! haha. We pulled a few missions at the Masterdome. lol Mosdef had this, Untitled & Watch Me Shred from RAW in heavy rotation. Damn, feelin' some deep nostalgia for those days, the cool ass peeps, the Poppin' & Bboyin' circles & the unforgettable nights & mornings almost 25 years ago! Wow. We had the times of our lives, survived and lived to talk about it. Much love to you all & peace to the homeys that transitioned already, including my boy Anthony (Pop'N Nino). 🙏🌠👐
@@RUSTONE31ghetto mafioso has some of the sickest bass lines and turntable work , historic level shit , Raul dropped a legendary one . still have the cassette to this day
I didn’t lose mine! 😣. I would get jacked going to certain parties in LA. My car would always get broken into at the Gotham and at the East LA spot on Soto and Mott ave. That Paisa discoteca Across from Jack n a box. My Corolla was easy to flip the locks. But I remember two times those bastards just busted out the window. They could never Jack the ride because my boyfriend at the time installed a kill switch that I use to always activate as soon as I would park 🤣🤣
@ 15:35 some of the most haunted and wicked bass lines i have ever heard, combined with the wicked laughs, the pulp fiction quotes, this has to be one of the most legendary bass lines to have been dropped in jungle history. mix tape is a legend, i was honored to be able to buy the tape. raul put it down on this one.
@@Decoy303These are Winston Marsalis from Pulp Fiction talking about “The Wolf”. There are quotes from Apocalypse Now, just not in that section (15 minutes..)
Had the cassette also! I must have played this set over a 1,000 times....What a BADASS. BBOY was a Level above all others! I use to put this in the tape deck at after parties and tell all the heads how DnB would soon takeover! I was right....soon after this it was in all the MAIN ROOMS instead of just the dark corners of the basement! I wish I could go back one more time.....
l say this is dope as hell. Def one of his top three, but if you really dig..., there are sooo many mixes that he has put out over the years. This is an amazing setting the bar type of mix right here though! Just playing it now brings me back!
Man, just saw this! Yeah, he's got a lot of great mixes. Other favorites are Redrums and El Diablo. There's something about this one for me though. I think more than any other mix of his with which I'm familiar I feel the selection - but especially the *flow* - of the tracks is superior. The next track always makes sense ... it feels like it should follow the track that came before. Granted, that's all pretty subjective, however.
my favorite Jungle mix of all time. thanks for posting. wish I still had this, especially digitally, I had the tape and I have no means to play it anymore
Thank you so much for posting this! ive been looking for it sense probably 2000 when my tap player broke. the tape got twisted inside. Do you know where i can get a copy of this? Please! This in my books is one of Raul's and the best Drum n Base mixes ever!
