Pro tip: if a person, especially a kid, calls you their parent, brother, sister, uncle, etc. Just go with it. They feel like they're in danger and are looking for backup.

big thonk cuz, if there is a person trying to talk to them (unknown pedo) if they can't find a trusted relative, they'll immediately go to the nearest person and say, "This is my (relative) and they know (form of self-defense)" or something like that. I did it once.
@erusdearest
@erusdearest 4 года назад
I always have a plan. Kneel down and ask the kid, "Do you feel safe?" If they're old enough, they'll understand, just tell them to give you a nod or shake their head. Depending on the answer, take them to the nearest public place where you can keep them in public eye. Preferably being somewhere where customer service is there, or a security guard. Question the child, or let professionals do it, in a very careful way. This way, if it is a misunderstanding, you're close and the child is in public, safe, and in the eye of many people who can vouch for your good intent. If you're right, and the child is in danger, you've safely gotten them away.

Seriously, if someone calls me anything, like buddy, mom, sis, etc, I will immediately go along with it. A little girl ran up to me a few weeks ago calling me her "sissy" and I immediately jumped into mama bear mode, picked her up and said "there you are! We were looking for you!" And called to my friends saying "hey guys, I found her!" My friends caught on, and came over, playing the part of worried family members. Later after we had security help us find her ACTUAL family, one if my friends told me a really creepy guy had been coming after her, but stopped when she got to me, then just kept glaring at us.

I haven't had any in my older years, but when I was a baby it was storming outside and I was screaming and wailing so loudly in my crib. It was obvious I didn't wanna be in that room no matter what, so my grandmother got me and let me sleep in her bed. Not 10 minutes later, lightning struck the tree outside my window setting it on fire, and the tree also crashed into my room, landing straight on my crib. So, I legit saved myself from getting crushed by a tree.

From the first story, just know that any burglars that want to rob a house in the middle of the night when people would be sleeping, or the hours when most people would be home from work are up to something beyond stealing. Most burglars who are ONLY there to steal stuff just want to be in and out and done because they don't want to encounter any homeowners who could potentially shoot them or call the cops. Those type of burglars don't want a fight, they just want your valuables.

Lol i had an epizode like this and failed hard. Now i can hide behind the fact i was 24 Yo and some1 called me Dad. But to be fair i just couth up abit later... This is how it happened. I was at one night club chatting with (story is better if i tell this later...) ... and that club is on the corner of the main street. Other streets around it are quite dark and people often tell stories that there are some who just lurk in a dark and wait for drunk victims to stumble into a dark narow street and then rob them (in women case something else might also be done to them...), well you get the jist. And i was standing right at the corner of that club. To my left - well lit street, top my right dark street starting from the side of night club and disapearing into the darkness. I'm standing at the corneralone can see club entrance and from the side of my eye i can see street, holding cigarette in my hand and phone in other checking messages... Out of darkness i hear: -Dad, i want to go! I noticed there was like 12Yo kid running towards me. After him i can hear quick footsteps and dark shady figure is following him. Me abit foncused (and i had couple coctails at that point): -Hope to be one day, why? -Dad let's go, i want to go home! - I noticed that the guy emerges from darkness and starts running towards the kid, and from the look of things he will grab him before kid gets to me. At this point i finally couth up whats happening and the guy i was talking with was my ex boss then i worked at security in casino. He is over 2 meters in heighth. I wasn't that thin back then but next to him i looked like a stick! We both just bolted towards the kid and i grabbed the creepo then kid ran to the girls that was smoking next to me. To be fair everything happened really fast and it was quite dark but one thing i renember is the look on that guys face then he saw how big is the next guy is running towards him. I dotn think i ever seen anyone so terryfied. By all means he wasn't small too but my ex boss looks like damn Big show if you ever watched WWE. Kid was alright and actually after he calmed down he was a super cool kid to. Then we waited for his parents we had a chat and he was telling us jokes, picking up girls twice his age. Super cool kiddo. And the guy who was following was a pedophile. Plius he tryed to struggle and my boss knocked his front teeth out :D.

I was 15 and my friend 14 we were walking towards our home and it's far, this group of guys came in and stop us for directions (note that the nearest farm house is almost 2 miles and they look like they were 30 years old) they seemed very nervous at first and later asked if we needed a ride, my friend was such a moron he was almost half way in there van I quickly grabbed his backpack and told them no sorry we're used to walking they eventually left knowing we wont get in there van they said goodbye and thanks but in a very not friendly way, my friend kept nagging me saying "well we could be home about now" our dads work on a cattle ranch so our houses are 10 feet away, anyway I told him you'll thank me later for this jerk and by now we were mad at each other we dint talk the rest of the way home, one week later we started to talk because apparently two girls that went to our school got kidnapped by the same guys and found dead in the forest neer our local market, if I hadn't chosen to stop him and instead let him get on and get on my self, I might not even be telling this story, he has not ever question me when I tell him to not do something and he's got my back if anything happens but that's still things like this can happen to anyone and I'm glad we fricking made it out.

I was around 19 when I was at my dorm by myself and it was late, somewhere around 11:45PM-12:00 AM I realised I had no milk so I needed to get more. I left and walked down the street by myself to go to the store which was only a block or two away, when I see this guy that must be at least 6,1 and i am 5,7 so I look like a hell of a target. So I go to the nearest group of girls my age and say "hey what's up it's really been too long!!" And I lift my hand in front of me and Pont to the man behind me and the group appears to understand so we talk until that guy leaves and I thank I tthem they told me how brave I was to walk up to a group of strangers, and that they are so glad nothing ended up happening. I have severe social anxiety and I am so so proud of myself for being able to do that. And If you don't get that, it's not my problem. @@esteicy98 not true. Panicking is still risky. Following a gut feeling when nothing is wrong can cause you to behave in ways you normally wouldn't. Useful when fleeing a threat, but dangerous in its own right. I'm not saying you should ignore gut feelings, of course. But it's something to remember to take care not to act inordinately on a gut feeling. Try to understand why you have the feeling, or at least what it's coming from, and avoid the specific threat.

When I was in fourth grade or so, My friend and her younger brother and I were hanging out (All of us under 12 in age) in the back yard of our neighbors house. Down the alleyway a ways there was a middle aged man wearing a bra on backwards and trying to ask us to come closer to him. My friend and her brother started laughing at him like it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen but I was always an anxious kid and wasn't super comfortable with the whole thing so I urged the others to come back to my house with me. We went inside and told my parents what happened and got sent to my room to play. The next day at school we got called to the principal's office and sat down with some police officers who gave us a few pictures and asked us to point out if any of them looked like the guy we saw. All three of us pointed to one specific guy and we found out later on that he was under house arrest as a registered sex offender who had a long history of sexually assaulting children, and was clearly trying to lure the three of us for the same.

OH another one happened sometime last year when my girlfriend and I were walking home from the gas station once. It's only like a three block walk and we usually don't have any problems but this time there was this one car that kept circling, driving down this same road, turning off the street, turning into the nearby alley, and pulling back through into our road and slowing down right next to us. It was HORRIFYING. Absolutely terrified of this guy finding out where we live, we made a decision to, as calmly as possible, turn right onto the road near our house instead of actually going straight into our house. As soon as we turned the corner we ran as fast as we could and ducked into a different street, then peaked on the guy who seemed to have lost us. We watched him speed off in the opposite direction, and when we were sure he was gone, we sprinted to our house as fast as we could, desperate to get inside before he could come back and see us. Haven't seen him since thank god, but it was terrifying.

Once I was walking to a usual block, after school, where I wait for my dad to pick me up. It was in a cluster of buildings and weren't too open... There was nobody around that day and I was pretty lonely. My dad told me he was coming from far away so I had to wait for about thirty minutes or so. I plugged my headphones in and decided to watch RU-vid videos. Suddenly I felt hands on my mouth and a straining voice telling me to shut up and was pulling me... Mind you I was a 8 year old but was trained in karate since 4... I bit into his hand and fukin yeet my legs straight into his balls, and bit his finger, twisted one of them in the process. I then began to run back to my school, where my dad always to me to go if smt like this happened. Lucky me, I ran straight into one of the teachers, my Tamil teacher(looked like she was related to me as I was brown skin coloured) and shouted, "Mom!! Where have you been!!" ( I silently told her, we need to leave from here now) Lucky she knew me well, and judging from the man behind me, she decided to play along, thankfully. She was like," Where have YOU been? Cmon lets go home," and immediately went back inside school and called my dad and the police. I heard the guy curse me and went off, holding his balls lmao. I thanked my teacher so much, and she was like no problem... Five minutes later police showed up and questioned us both. Soon after my dad came in and we both cried about it and thanked God that I learned karate. But bless my Tamil teacher for saving my life that day. Thankss Mdm Pauline, I'll never forget what you have done for me till this day. Edit: Ever since then, I wait for my dad in school and learned, the country with the lowest crime rates doesn't mean it's safe

My I need to leave now situation was when I was riding my horse. I was a young teen maybe 13 and I had the horse just walking slowly down a path through the woods. We were enjoying the birds and the quiet of the woods. Suddenly a man jumped out from behind a tree and grabbed my horse's bridle reins at the bit (that is what is in the horses mouth) and my ankle. He tried to pull me off. I kicked the horse on the other side of her body to drive her into him and began to lash him in the face with the part of the reins that hung down. She was trying to rear up and throwing her head around in a way someone who wasn't used to horses would find very scary. I think about the third or fourth hit I made got him in the eye because he screamed and let go. That little Arabian ran like a racehorse down the trail until we got to the cut where the high power lines crossed thru the woods. I think she was as scared as I was. We followed the cut to a road and we never used that trail again. Her name was Saba and she was a great horse I had till she passed while I was in grad school. I hope his name was blind whatever after that.

Yeah, but you're more likely to listen to that gut feeling because your anxiety is freaking out and that can save your life. I feel like a lot of people tend to just brush off those gut feelings of something being wrong because they're afraid that they're paranoid or whatever. My "we need to leave now" came from my doctor. I had been horribly harassed as school for years to the point that I had already attempted suicide when I was only 8. By the end of 2nd grade, my doctor pulled out a map of different school districts and said we had to go to *these* schools and see *these* professionals for my depression and other psychological disorders. If we did not move, I risked a high chance of never seeing another summer vacation (In layman's terms, I was going to die if I stayed). With this in mind, we moved. That was 10 years ago now, I'm in college, and I'm still screwed up slightly from what had happened. But hey, better than being in the hole. Also, not too long ago (like last year) I was at the store just looking for some stuff. I happened to be wearing my PT (physical training) for the Army shirt at the time, but this is normal for me. Suddenly, this girl who was like 13 or 14 walks up to me and starts calling me "brother" while holding onto my arm. I was seriously confused and looked around. As I was carefully scanning the area I spotted a man in a dark sweater who was pretending to not be looking at her. Picked up on what was happening and proceeded to play along. Problem is, my actual mother and sister were at the store as well. I kept my head on a swivel the whole time. Mom was army too, and is a large and strong woman. Found them in the produce section and flashed the "play along" look. They picked up on it instantly. Kid stayed with us until we got out to our car, where she then thanked me and pulled out her phone to call her father. My head was still on a swivel, and I could see the guy was at checkout. Seeing this I said "fuck that, mom, let's get her to her house." We then took her to her home where we were thanked by her parents. I was offered cash, but turned it down. The man was arrested a week or so later on charges of kidnapping and pedophilia. Makes me sick that these people are out there, but I'm glad that I prevented one more child from having to suffer. To be honest, with that last one, the number of times I've prevented kidnappings is shocking. As a result, I keep a toy handgun on me at almost all times and normally have a knife on me. I modified the toy gun to have a screw on black cap that fits over the orange cap, and I keep it tucked in my sweater or in my waistband. I've had to flash it a couple times and once drew it. That normally scares them off.

When I was little (about 7 or 8) my cousin (8 or 9) and I were playing outside my house, on a play structure. My mom was inside cooking or something and would check on us every few minutes to make sure we were doing alright. My cousin and I were just laughing and talking on my swing set when suddenly I got this pit in my stomach... I can only explain it as pure terror. I immediately stopped talking and my cousin asked me if I was okay. I told her that we needed to go inside. She asked me why and I told her that I didn’t know but I knew we had to go. She tried to convince me that I was being silly and that I was just paranoid, but the feeling of complete fear grew and grew. I cut her off and, in a panicked voice, told her her “if we don’t go, we are going to die!”. I was suprised I that I had said it and so was my cousin. She knew I was serious, though, and we SPRINTED inside, slammed the door shut, and locked it. My mom rushed in asking what was wrong and I told her everything. She hugged me and promised me that everything was going to be okay and offered to go outside with us if we wanted, to which I quickly declined. We quickly forgot about the whole ordeal and my cousin and I began watching tv. About 10 minutes after we had gone inside the feeling returned. My head darted to the window and there, no more then 15 feet from where my cousin and I were playing, a bear and her two cubs stood. I thought I was going to faint and brought it to the attention of my cousin and my mom, who were equally as terrified. It still freaks me out to this day.

exactly, see this is another thing channels like this do, kinda stupid. a 5 minute google search could've easily proved that hurricanes do spawn tornadoes a lot, especially the more powerful ones. this is why, along with the storm surge, flooding and high winds, that people evacuate or are evacuated from coastal areas days before a hurricane is said to have hit. those who "ride out the storm" either live in a very well built home, like built with ICF, or live in a skyscraper or high rise apartment and have enough food and spare water to last em awhile, or live in a not so well built home but are either too poor, too stupid, or don't have anyone further inland to go to, so they stick around and ride the storm out, hoping and praying their house isn't next.

This happened to my mom when she was in college. She and a friend took the same subway on the way, so they always went together after classes. This friend always wanted to ride the wagon that was closest to the front. Well, one day, when they are going to the subway station, they see the train is about to leave and the friend says that they should just wait for the next one. My mom was like "No, we can catch it, just run!" and they did. When they arrived home, they see in the news that the train that left after the one they rided was crushed by a sudden cave-in. Thing is, the wagons in the front are the ones that got the biggest damage, so, had they gotten in that train and gotten in the front as he always wanted, they wouldn't have made it out. Even creepier, my mom says that before that incident, she had been having a recurring nightmare about the subway stopping and everyone having to get off and walk through the tunnels, which were pretty dark except for ocasional cartoon devils drawn on the walls. She said "The drawings were pretty silly, but after what happened, I just think it made it even worse". Of course, after the accident, she never had that nightmare again.

I remember when I was 12-13, I had to take care of my neighbors cats for the weekend. So I went over there to feed them at around 5 PM, and as I was in the kitchen, I heard a knock at the door. I was already scared since I was in my neighbors house, it was dark and some random person came to the door. So I went to the door and looked out the peephole. It was really hard to see since it was during the winter, but I remember seeing a person standing there in all black clothing with a hoodie covering their face. I immediately looked down at the lock on the door, which I didn't lock after I got into the house, so then I tried quickly but quietly locking it but of course it makes that clicking sound. After I locked it the person began banging on the door repeatedly, and I hid in the hallway until it stopped. I didn't have my phone with me at the time and they had no home phone, so I waited until the knocking stopped, checked to see if they left and finished what I was doing before locking up the house and bolting my way back home (which was only a few houses away). From now on, I have my phone on me wherever I go, and I lock the door right after I step into the house, even if I'm about to leave again.

Probably my "we need to leave NOW" is when I was walking home with my sisters (18F) and (9f), it was around 10:00-1:00. Suddenly, from this house was this guy. He was a somewhat chubby and greasy fellow but whatever, he suddenly walked up to us and offered us money. We were obviously confused. Suddenly our oldest sister told us to run and we booked it from there, turns out the guy was chasing after us but he just ran off. We made it home and called the police. The man tried to hide but failed and the police caught him. Turns out, he offered us money to try and silence anybody who saw him to get the police off his trail. I was shaken by the whole ordeal and my parents forbade us from walking home so late at night again. Also this was back in 2019 so the memories are foggy. *TL;DR* *A man offered my sisters and I money to try and get the police off his trail.*

Nah. Sorry to sound scary, but I think he was up to something else. You all wouldn't have known he even existed if he didn't come up to you, so if he was so worried about people who had seen him possibly telling the cops where they had seen him, then why would he bother you all when he could have just stayed wherever he came from until you passed by? Also, if he was worried about cops why did he chase you?--All that would do is make your parents call the cops and tell them that some strange man had chased their 3 kids after he offered the money-- a strange man who not only could be described by the 3 people who saw his face, but who could also tell the cops what house he came from. I think the excuse he gave sounded a lot nicer than what he really had in store. Still though, I'm glad you and your sisters got away from him.

One time my mom, sister, and I were driving back home from a trip to Denver. We went to Denver alot (we lived in a small town and my sister and I had to go down there to see specialists) and always went the same route. As we were getting closer to our town, I got a pit in my stomach, but didn’t say anything about it. A few minutes later the feeling was so strong that I thought I was going to puke or faint. I told my mom that I thought we should go the longer route (about an hour extra) home. My mom and sister were suprised and confused. They asked me why and I told them about my gut feeling. We are a very religious family and believe strongly in trusting our guts, as we believe it’s often God trying to tell us something. Becuase of this, it wasn’t hard to convince them and we went the long way. We got home and forgot about the whole thing, until something horrifying happened. My mom got a text from a family friend asking if we were alright. My mom said yes and asked why. Apparently a few dozen bolders had fallen on the pass we normally took and caused a huge accident. We found out later that 6 cars (11 people) were involved, 2 died, and another was injured (I believe... the numbers could be slightly off but In pretty sure this was it). It still dawns on me that the same thing could have happened to us and I thank God that it didn’t. ALWAYS listen to your gut, even if it’s wrong, it’s better to listen to it than not.

Nicely done. Also pay attention to the things that happen to delay you from being in a certain spot at a certain time. For example, I was planning a trip, nothing major, 200 km away, 3 hours drive. But before leaving, I pray to God to watch over me and to send me signals, in his own way, to warn me. That day when I try to leave, car won't start. It took me 20 minutes to find someone with jumper cables to help me start it. Once started no issues, completed my trip. On the road, saw police cars just leaving one of their favorite spots to stake out for speed tickets - they were done for the day. If I would have left 20 minutes earlier, I would have gotten a ticket, I'm a lead foot. On another occasion, I caught EVERY SINGLE red light out of town. They're not timed or anything, and when I didn't catch a red light, a pedestrian crossed the street. That put me on guard, obviously I have to delay my trip start for few minutes. So I pulled into a gas station to buy a drink, let some minutes pass. On the road, 100 km away, I passed an accident that happened MINUTES before. If i wasn't delayed, i would have been right there ! On another occasion, I ignored such a signal, was tired, after work, was riding my car to drive 4 km away to meet some friends. I was compelled to turn right out of my driveway, to take a slightly longer route (maybe 5 minutes longer), but instead I said fuck it, and turned left, to take the shortest and less traffic heavy route. At a traffic light, I took the outer lane, next to the sidewalk and went straight through the crossroad, which is permitted at that particular one. A red car on my left, on 2nd lane, did not gave me enough room (crossroad is "C" shaped, so you have to turn through it), entered onto my lane and tapped my front left wing, scratching it.

I was walking my dog in the forest during the "Killer Clown Pandemic" and some of them had been seen around my village. Without a goal, just pacing through the forest, I quickly found myself having no idea where I actually was and without my dog, as I usually put her off her leash when no one was around. After a few minutes I just noticed something in the corner of my eye. I didn't know what it was, but I didn't need to know. It was something red leaning against a tree. Immediately adrenaline began to flood my entire body and it felt like my feet were moving on their own, as I just turned around and ran away as fast as possible. Stumbling and almost tripping over branches spread all over the ground, I didn't dare to even think about what was behind me running after me. Eventually I managed to find the exit of the forest, falling on my knees and going into a mayor panic attack. Seemingly out of nowhere my dog was suddenly next to me and once I was able to catch my breath again, I forced myself onto my knees and further away from the forest. I knew I wouldn't be able to stop my dog, should she try to run away, so I didn't put on the leash again, but she, too, seemed to feel like something was wrong and didn't leave my side. The whole time I felt like something was watching me from the forest and I haven't been there on my own since.

Three experiences: 1) When I was still a teenager, maybe around 14 - 15 years old, I was browsing the magazine section of a grocery store while my dad and brothers were getting food. As I'm browsing, a guy comes up to me wearing a green jacket and cotton hat. I think it might have been winter or early spring, so I didn't question his outfit too much. We got to talking about the different magazines and at one point, he made a joke that I chuckled at, then he reached over and tickled my belly. As soon as he did that, red flags shot right the hell up in my head and I knew I just HAD to get away from this guy. I told him I had to go and I went to find my dad. While I was shopping with my dad at the frozen food section, I saw the guy walk by on his way to a different aisle, and he was obviously scanning the aisles looking for something... because when he saw me, our eyes locked for what felt like an eternity. He was obviously in a rush, so as soon as he noticed I was with my dad, he left the store immediately. It was only after he was gone that I told my dad what happened and they took me to a security booth to describe the man. My only regret is that I didn't tell my dad sooner so the guy could have been apprehended before leaving the store. 2) Again as a teenager, my brother and I wanted to learn how to play chess after being inspired from movies like Independence Day. Funny how those movies make Chess seem soooo interesting. Anyway, my parents signed us up for classes with a group that was known for teaching kids how to play. Since I don't want to ruin their reputation on here, I won't be sharing the organization that taught us. Anyway, my mom got a weird vibe from the teacher, so she told me: "Don't ever let your little brother be alone with him." I thought it was weird, but I'd never disobey my mom under any circumstances, so I agreed and kept it in mind whenever I went to get lessons. One day, the teacher pulled me aside and said he needed to speak to my little brother in private. I denied his request, telling him I needed to be in the room with him at all times per my mom's orders. He insisted, saying there were things he needed to tell my brother that he couldn't tell me, but no matter what, I refused to let him be alone with my brother. Eventually he relented and we went home. We continued to get lessons from him while my brother remained under my ever-watchful eye, but we ended up leaving the group when he started inviting kids up to a mountain retreat over the weekend with him. My mom obviously didn't want us alone with him over the course of a few days in a mountain lodge with no contact for miles. Good call on her part, and it certainly taught me to trust my gut, because a few years later, we discovered he was a child predator. He had been molesting his own son for years and he had inappropriately touched several young boys during those mountain retreats, often insisting that kids share the bed with him and such. He initially made his escape from the state and moved elsewhere, but a parent in another state discovered he was teaching at an elementary school in another state and they finally apprehended him. To my knowledge, he is currently serving a life sentence. It's definitely dark humor, but whenever I tell this story and am reminded he never wanted to pull me aside, I joke that: I guess I wasn't cute enough to be molested. 3) When I was a kid, probably 11 - 12, I was pulled out of school because of extreme bullying and instead I received home schooling. My brother was also pulled out of school because he had a learning disability and the school wouldn't offer him any help, which frustrated my mom. There were times when my mom regretted having us getting home schooled because it meant we couldn't meet kids or really have much of a social life, but there was this one instance where my mom told us she was grateful we were in the house. One day while we were learning a language, we heard the doorbell ring. A white van was sitting out in the cul de sac on the road with the side door open and it was crewed by three young men; one driver, someone in the passenger seat, and someone in the back holding the door open and watching us at the door. They said they were there to check our plumbing, but the van didn't have any logos, branding, phone numbers, etc. and looked kind of beat up. My mom immediately knew there was a danger, so she called out to us from the front door to check on the laundry machine and the toilet to see if there were any problems. We checked and told her nothing was wrong while she stayed at the front door. She smiled and thanked them for coming by, then closed the door. He returned to the truck with his friends and they drove off. Curiously they only came to our house, so I imagine they'd been checking the place out for some time. We hadn't scheduled any maintenance on the house that day and my mom confessed to us that she suspected they were either robbers or kidnappers, and the only reason they didn't take action is because there were other people in the house, so it probably spooked them. One of the few times my mom was ever super thankful she took us out of school.

not sure if this applies but my scariest “we need to leave now” moment was on the last day of my freshman year in high school. Our school has a “field day” sort of celebration every year on the last day of school where students are allowed to pretty much roam the entire school and even outside without any supervision. My school is also right in front of a river which has paths on either side for people to stroll on. Now these paths were open to the public and were considered off-limits to students during school hours. Me and 2 friends, being the reckless adventure-seeking freshmen we were, decided to stroll on the riverside path anyways. There came a point where the path ended and the forest began. We quickly debated whether or not it’d be safe and ok to keep going. I urged my group to go since I was hella curious and I was having fun so far. We came across a tall wired fence that had a huge whole slashed at the bottom. Again, we debated on whether we should turn back and return to the school. I had a bit of a bad feeling so I suggested we go back. My friend, however, said it was fine and that I should go first so they could watch my back. Reluctantly I slowly entered through the hole and walked to a small clearing. There we found a tent, a burnt out campfire, a spray painted and withered doll and various old items that suggested that someone used to live there. Everything pretty much looked like someone had been staying here for some time but then abandoned it, or worse, something bad had happened to them and their things were left behind. I felt that that there was no one at this site and that we were alone so I began taking pictures of the site and walked around looking at everything. I was really unnerved and shocked to see this site so near our school. At this point my bad feeling was at its peak and I kept saying that we should go back. Despite the feeling that there wasn’t anyone there, I felt as though we were about to be victims of a missing person case and have our corpses buried there in the forest to be found years later. Then my friend curiously touched the tent and that was when something inside jolted and hit back. Me and my friends immediately ran while nervously laughing. We told everyone else about it when we came back to the school. None of our teachers or friends had even noticed that we left so I bet if something bad had happened to us in the forest no one would have been able to tell until it was too late. I still have the pics of the weird shit we saw there. Needless to say that was definitely a memorable last day of school.

So I have a story. This isn't mine it's my friends. They were at home alone one night and they looked out their window and saw a black cat that looked like their cat, so they went out and tried to call the cat in, but as soon as they stepped foot out their door a pit fell in their stomach, and they went back inside. But they really wanted their cat inside so they went out again and tried to call the cat in. The pit in their stomach only grew. They decided to come inside lock all the doors and windows, close all the blinds and curtains and go to their parents room upstairs and call the police. They were scared out of their mind. The police did a perimeter around their house and neighborhood. They didn't see anything so they checked the car cam of the police cruiser. And they found in the bushes across the street in the house, a cougar. The 'cat' was the shadow of the cougar but their were lights shining from the garage and on the street so it just looked like a cat. They said they would always trust their gut instincts after that.

My most “we need to leave moment” was at the Gilroy Garlic festival. We had been there a couple of hours and were debating to catch a later bus on an earlier one. My sister wanted so pictures so my mom was helping her take them and I went to refill water at the free refill station. I walked up to the station to refill but they said they were almost out so I started walking back to meet up with my mom and sister and then I snapped. I started yelling that we had to leave now and physically pulling my mom and sister to leave seriously angry and yelling like a crazy person. This is super uncharacteristic of me-especially since as I was walking up, I was going to tell my mom to have my sister pose at a different angle since it would look better. I got them to run out with me since I was crazily yelling that we had to leave and that I was leaving now. We got on the bus that was just about to leave: As soon as we got on the bus I felt immediately calm again since I had no idea why I had been mad in the first place. We made it back to the car and I started driving out of the parking lot and a friend who follows my Snapchat called me. Apparently we got the last bus out before the Gilroy garlic shooter came and started terrorizing the festival. To this day I have no idea why I snapped like that, ignored our preset plan, and made my family run to the last departing bus-but I am super happy it happened.

I’ve had a few “I need to leave right now” moments. The scariest one was when I was 19 and walking home alone from work around midnight. I always took a shortcut through a park, even though it was pretty dark, because I live in a big city and there’s always people around. There just weren’t any that night. For some reason I just had a bad feeling that night, so I called up my friend while walking just to have someone on the phone. Right when I entered the park, I noticed someone came out from behind a hedge and started following me. It was too late to turn back and I was too scared to look back and see who it was. All I could see was his shadow because of the park lights, and with every light I passed I could see his shadow coming closer to mine. I didn’t say anything to my friend on the phone but started walking faster until he was eventually so close to me that I just started sprinting. Made it out of the park, looked back and he had stopped behind this sign and was just standing there watching me. I never took that shortcut again. To this day I am still literally scared of my own shadow.

I'm currently a teenager, though my scariest "we need to leave now.", was when I was maybe 9-10ish. Where my family and I used to live our street faced a mini-forest that which a good chunk had been torn down to build a park on the opposite side. It also had a few streetlights in front of the mini-forest, but they rarely worked. My brother and I (who was maybe 5-6) would walk through this little cove of trees to get to the park. You'd end up a good distance behind and to the side of the park's square gazebo and slightly behind a dirt track. One summer I took my brother to the park at like 10am. Since we knew no one would be there at 10am during the summer (stupid logic). When we arrived we were kind of right. There was a woman (maybe 19 year old) running the track with her dog and a man just sitting in the gazebo. I let my brother play and I stood nearby watching the man and my brother. Every few minutes the man would inch closer to the park, he was about a good sprinting distance away when I grabbed my brother and bolted to the sidewalk and up to our house. I didn't see him when we walked in, so we played the rest of the day in our concrete box of a backyard making a chalk jungle. That night I went downstairs for some milk because I couldn't sleep and saw my grandma and dad watching the news. I was unintrested but then I heard that a man got arrested for assault and attempted kidnapping of a woman at the park we were at earlier that day. We moved shortly after.

My older sister was chill and we waited outside. One if those toy dropping machines was right by a bench and i was just staring at it, then some old lady sitting at the bench looked at me with a weird grin on her face and said “Would you like me to give you some money dear?” I, being a nice little kid replied with “Oh, no thank you”. She seemed like she was up to something and then she said “You sure? All the other kids want some money from me,” she said . At this moment my sister realised what was happening and said “Mam, i’m sorry to say but my sister said no”. The lady seemed to get annoyed with us and was about to say something until my mother started walking over, the lady saw this as her chance to quickly get away as she stood up annoyed making her way towards target. My sister explained to my mother and told her what happened. My mother was just grateful that the lady didn’t try to grab us and pull us away. I’m still shook from what happened

Since people here are still dropping their personal experiences, I’ll drop my own as well. When my friends and I were freshmen in high school, my best friend at the time suddenly showed up to hang out at lunch with her new boyfriend, who was a senior at the time. A lot of us were already on edge just looking at the guy. He wasn’t weird looking, quite the opposite actually. But, he was so handsy, and weirdly standoffish. He didn’t like to let us talk to his girlfriend. When asked, she told us that they’d only met that day, a couple hours ago. It was creepy how possessive he was showing himself to be, but that friend didn’t seem to see why my other friends and myself were creeped out. Over a few weeks he got more grabby with her, and got actually mad at us for talking to her at all. We didn’t see much of her, and she didn’t seem to try to talk to us. But I had a growing pit in my stomach and messaged her, no holds barred, about how eery her bf made me feel and that I had a strong feeling that she needed to get away from him. A couple days later, my school was under high security mode, because that boy threatened to shoot my friend, her friends including me, my school, and himself.

I have a good one! So I live a minute walk away to some woods with trails and stuff. So me and like 5 or 6 kids are walking around wanting to visit the lake. The oldest is 14 and the youngest is 12 so we are just trying to do some fun things. We visit the lake and it start to get dark so we’re walking back and I get this.. feeling, like we’re being watched. I turn to my friend and tell him my feelings and get just goes “Yeah.. I’ve been feeling it since we left the lake.” The group starts to walk a tiny bit faster until my one friend starts to book it, then we all start to run as fast as we can until we get out and to our houses, we didn’t find out till later that the reason our one friend started to run is because he saw a coyote watching us and wanted to get out as fast as he could.

When I was about 9, my aunt (21) was driving me to a Girl Scout event in my area. We were passing a road that leads directly to my neighborhood. My aunt’s eyes widened. She immediately called her brother, my uncle. She said she was scared and she needed him to come help her. I, as a proper 9 year old, was of course pestering her the full time. When we got there, my uncle was there. She told what had happened. There was a man, no police uniform or anything, with a gun in his hands walking down the aforementioned road. Towards my family’s house. She called the police, explaining everything to them. Weeks later, a first degree murderer was convicted. The man had been in my house when arrested. My mother and three year old sister were out shopping for a surprise cake because it was my sister’s birthday in a couple days... but when they heard it from my aunt, uncle, and the police who had to explain why the house was so messed up, she immediately scrolled through alarm systems that notify the owner wherever they are on Amazon. Needless to say, nine year old me was terrified. And I was late for my Girl Scout meeting.

My uncle friend uncle’s story this is but I think it fits very well.. The guy was at a wedding and wanting to leave, he was pretty tipsy but with enough common sense to walk home, the shortest way to the guy’s house was through a forest. So as he walks through the forest, he hears crying and walks towards it, he sees a women, dressed as a bride sitting on a fallen over log, hands covering her face as she cried. Of course the guy quickly walks over and tries to console her, she wipes away her tears and thanks him, face completely human. They both were walking now and finally they reached the main road, the main road was made of asphalt and suddenly they hear horse hooves, he says while looking around, “Do you hear that? It sounds like a horse..” Both then stop walking and the woman turns to face him directly and slowly lifts her long dress that reached the floor and it reveals HORSE LEGS. Her face apparently turns weird and she no longer is the woman but something weird. The dude starts to bolt it to his house that was not too far away now, and he hears rapid horse hooves right behind him, instead of taking out his keys and fumbling with them to open the door, he runs to his shack right next to the house and locks himself there, as soon as he does, he hears two loud thumps against the wooden door.... He stays awake all night.. Next day he comes out bravely and on the outside of the wooden door were two muddy horse hoove prints on the door and he never met the creature again. It didn’t bother him again though, no knocks on the house door or windows, no creepy figured at night, nothing else happened. Apparently my uncle couldn’t sleep for days after he heard that story from the guy’s niece that was the same age at the time as my uncle.

I had one of these moments. It was before i had a liccense, so me and my mother went to a IKEA parking lot after hours so i could learn the basics. At that location there is always big truck drivers resting during nights. SO all of a sudden 3 of them went towards us. I said we need to leave mom, she just rolled down the window and they started asking if we had any drugs on us and if we knew where they could get cocaine and heroine. Mom said no, laughed a little bit and we started dricing again. When it was time to switch i asked if we could leave and switch far away from them. But no, as soon as mom opened the door and took one foot out of the car. The 3 men started running towards us. I pulled mom back into the car and managed, with my minimal experience driving, to start the car and drive away fast before they got to the car. Mom started shouting and askign what the hell i was doing. She never saw them comming so i had to explain. She just started crying and apologizing to me. Turns out that one of those men had previously met my mom several times in her work. Thats why she wasnt scared. But fuck me i thought we were gonna get murdered.

I think I need to drop my story: So I was going home from School in the philippines. When I was walking, I paused for a second because there was an image popped in my head that I got hit by a vehicle on my way to go home and because of that I stopped to a pharmacy to look if there was ang vehicle around (the pharmacy is a bit close to the road). And I was shocked from what I saw, a car has lost its control and crashed in a construction site. Nobody got hurt except the driver of the car, and from that day I always wait to that pharmacy to escape death Edit: im 15 that day. Im 16 now, and btw I keep having that images until now but its not as dangerous as this one. Edit 2: thanks for the 42 likes ☺️👌

This’ll be long. Brace your peepers. --- Senior high, 11th grade. I was waiting outside my tutoring center building and staring at nothing (the center is on the third floor). I was hanging outside by the front doors and munching on candy from the convenience store on the first floor. There was thing big black car - like a Montero or something, I dunno - and a guy standing by its open door. It was parked right across the building and the road wasn’t that wide. The rest of the parking spots were filled and the security guard was nearby. He called me, asking if I wanted to hitch a ride (‘sasabay ka?’ or ‘are you coming?’ - the entire exchange was in Tagalog but I’ll translate to English). “What?” Was I staring at his car or something? “Are you coming?” He repeated. I have blurry vision and for a moment, he looked like a classmate. I thought it was weird, since the person I mistook the guy for wasn’t that close to me. I didn’t have my glasses with me then and I moved forward, halfway through the road since there were no cars at all passing by at the time. So, middle of the street and I immediately felt cold when I realized that I had NO idea who this guy was. I awkwardly responded, “no thank you”, which he followed up with, “you have a ride/fetcher?” “Yeah.” Now, I live closer to the province than the city, so I always felt pretty safe since you only really hear the dreadful news coming from the cities. Despite that, I never wanted to tuck tail and run more than I did that late afternoon. It was like, 5 pm? After he nods, I quickly turn back to go inside, thinking I’d be safer there instead. When I’m already through the short corridor and in the tiny sitting area, I freak out. The offices around me were dark. It was a holiday and nothing (except for my tutoring center, for some reason) was open. Immediately, I turn to go back outside. Better in the sights of many than in the sights of none, I thought. On my way out, right before the front desk and entrance, I run into THAT SAME GUY. I see him clearly now - tall, has a beard, relatively fit - he’s handsome. Looks just like a fresh graduate of college or something. Probably has a decent paying job. BUT WHO CARES? ANYBODY CAN BE A KIDNAPPER, RIGHT? He spots me and apologizes for thinking that I need a ride. I then think, ‘okay, calm down, maybe he’s like a friend of my parents and I just don’t remember him’. I just told him, oh it’s fine and avoid adding anything to further prompt conversation. “Sorry, I thought I saw you go to the gym.” He added. Gym was open. Also, how were those related? “Oh no, no no. I didn’t.” I was holding my bright BLUE AND YELLOW bag that had the tutoring center’s name printed on it. “I’m Kitt/Kit,” he quickly says, as if he forgot to do so, and went to shook my hand. I shook his as well, but pretty nervously. He introduced himself. Means we’ve never met. I don’t say anything anymore. “Hey, uh, you know where the bathroom is?” “Oh, yeah, it’s right over there. . .” I pointed, but I didn’t budge from my spot. I was terrified that if I offered to lead him to it, I’d get kidnapped when no one was looking. It was a secluded area. “There?” “Yeah, just go around the corner. . . there. . .” “Thanks.” He went to the bathroom and I panicked. I wanted to run outside but his car was literally right there. I decided that my best option was to go to the nearby supermarket. Maybe my mom was just taking a really long time grocery shopping. I shoved my candy into my back and booked it. I wasn’t worried about the street since the buildings were jam-packed together and a lot of people were also walking. This’ll drag if I explain how I got in contact with Mom. Basically, I didn’t see him again after cause the car was gone when I went back, and I hung by the security till my mom came to pick me up.

Now, this happened maybe two or so years ago, so I don't remember it quite that well, but I'll retell it as good as I can. I was at my friend's birthday party, and it was one of those situations where I didn't know anybody at the party other than Mr. Birthday Boy. We were all at his house and just hanging out in the basement, just being kids. Playing on the Foosball table, watching RU-vid, and just enjoying ourselves. Now, my friend lives in an average house in a pretty normal suburban neighborhood, except the houses in this area were more spaced out that usual. Yes, this is important. Also, my friend's house has a pretty large backyard, but this back yard does not have a fence or anything like that. Also yes, this is important. Now, it was getting late, so everyone was just hanging out in the basement. Since the house is on a hill, the basement has a nice window viewing the backyard. There are two small couches in a little area in front of this window, and that's where we were. At some point, Mr.Birthday Boy looks out the window and saw something. He nudged me and I look up from whatever we were doing and I look out at the window. There was a skull pressed up against the window. Me, Mr. Birthday Boy, and the thing in the window just stared at each other for a moment, before the skull thing just faded into the darkness. Later, we asked if anyone else had seen it, and everyone said no. One of them joked that we were going crazy, but I swear what I saw was there. Now, since the backyard doesn't have a fence, is was most likely some creep in a mask. What they were doing and why, heck if I know. Nothing like that has happened to me after that, and my friend hasn't said anything, so I think we're fine. But still, oh boy, that sometimes haunts me. Also, what the heck kind of freak would do that anyway? I don't want to think about it. And yes, I know about that weird thing where the brain tries to recognize things it's unfamiliar with as other things (which is why we sometimes see faces in random objects), but I assure you, this was NOT that. Two people saw the same exact same thing. Seems like a bit too much to be a coincidence. Also, my friend saw it come in, and we both saw it fade into the darkness.

so this one time two of my cousins and me were out having fun, drinking, smoking, etc. and we decide to get some food since we were hungry and i was going to be the driver since i was the one who was the least high or drunk. we decide to go to this tow nearby to see if we find a store thats open, as we were entering with loud music we start hearing what sounded like gunfire but we passed it off as fireworks as we turn the corner into the town there is a full on gang war, corpses all over the ground, buildings on fire, cars on fire, and just a big hellhole, we cam in with a big truck and loud ass music so we turned into a main target real quick and the truck got a whole rain of bullets, we quickly duck inder the dash to not get shot thru the windows and after like ten minutes of us sitting there and screaming like little girl we build up the courage to open the doors and bolt it, thankfully while we were running they didnt shoot at us, not sure why but probaly cuz they didnt notice us. we ran as long as our legs could possibly stand. the next day my cousins dad went and picked up the truck while we were in the hospital by the wounds we got, i got hit with 4 bullets and the cousin in the passenger seat with two and the one in the back with only one. the truck had 70 something holes we could count not incluiding whatever went through the windows since that is incountable. this was in mexico btw and sorry for any spelling mistakes

I have a pretty similar story like the one from 4:38. Me, my sister and my friend were at the park in a small neighborhood. Two teens (probably around 18) came up to us and sat down. At the time, we were playing basketball with a ball we brought. They were there for a few minutes and heard my friend say my sisters name quite a bit. The male figure then asked “Hey *sisters name* can we play?” We all then look at each other, knowing that we should leave. As we were walking away, they left. I was looking at the guy and he was looking at me. He then says “stop staring at me” Pretty scary for younger kids to have that experience.

Mine is my friends “we need to leave” moment. Though I was there. We were out in the middle of nowhere, an old abandoned building. Local rumor was that it was haunted, and us being the late teens/early 20’s idiots we were, well we gotta go see it. We’re there maybe a min, still outside peering in the dark windows. The only light from the car headlights that we took there aimed at the building. One of my friends starts going off, “we gotta go, let’s go, we need to get the fuck out of here.” Screaming and yelling, forcing us all back to the car. We all got to the car, and we’re half a mile away before he told us what freaked him out. He saw a pair of eyes looking at him in the window, the way they caught the light was like cat eyes he said. We laughed at first, “hey Sean, maybe it was a cat?” The driver was about to turn back and Sean yelled again. “IT WAS BIGGER THAN A FUCKING STRAY CAT!!!! DON’T GO BACK!!!” Well, while not the most common of animals, cougars and mountain lions aren’t unheard of in our area...we kept driving away.

something similar happened with me and 2 other friends, i call A and B. across the street of a's house, there was an abandoned factory/office type building, it had 3 floors or so. one day, we hopped the fence and went inside, looking around and such and messing with each other. we went upstairs, looking around a bit and we entered a room. within a sec or 2, we started hearing in the hallway shattered glass being walked on, it was really loud. friend B, the normal macho guy, went 'nope', took a steel pole that was on the floor and went we need to leave. we carefully started moving downstairs and outside while looking around, hopped the fence and went back to friend A's home. it could be a homeless person who saw us enter and he was walking around to scare us, we don't know. it was demolished some time later.

I got one. I once walked alone in the school grounds at night, my mom was one of the teachers and was working quite late checking papers and we waited for our Dad to pick us up from his work so I just waited with my mom and siblings. I was 10 at the time and the school was an elementary school and was very big, by big I mean not only a lot of buildings for Kindergarten but also for Grade school and High school, a swimming pool, etc, even a mini-zoo. Needless to say it was big and as a kid you kind of explore the school for fun. Now it was late, around 7-8 o'clock and all the students are gone (apart from me and my siblings) and I decided to explore a bit after a while. I mean there were no staff or students to be seen so who else could be out here? I could not have been more wrong. There was an open basketball court next to the faculty room where my mom was working on so I decided to walk around. And there stood in the middle of the empty court is a little kid, looks no more than 4, all in white from the distance. I was quite a distance from him so I didn't get a good look at the kid, I can't even tell the gender, but the minute I saw him, I bolted back to the office 'cause I was unnerved. Now would be a good time to mention that the school actually had quite the history; from an old Jesuit Mission, to a cemetery built next to it, to WWII, etc. you get the gist (by this point, I should mention this was in the Philippines) so a lot of ghost stories comes with the place. One in particular was brought to my attention after I told what took place to my mom that a few nights ago, her colleague who was working late noticed a little kid playing in that spot. She told me that as she approached him, not only was the kid translucent but got a good look at where the eyes should be and said there were none. Since then, I have not left the faculty room until my dad came to pick us up.

In the summer, when I was 11, I went for a late night walk with my older 30 year old cousin. We used to frequent a pool there. As we are walking down the street, looking for my uncle, a 50 year old man passes by us and looks at us up and down. Then, he says: "Taking a walk?" with a creepy smirk. I immediately got chills and my cousin calmed me down. We head home and I didn't sleep all night. Next morning, at the pool, I see that same guy. He walks towards me and asks: " Oh I saw you yesterday, right?" I didn't even answered him. I was paralysed. He ended up going away, problably confused with my reaction. I was really scared and I thought he was a r@pist. It was a relief acknowledging that he was a normal guy and didn't want anything creepy from me or my cousin.

My cousin (13F, named Brooklyn), other cousin (8F, named Mercy), and me (12F, named Eryn) were chilling with my uncle (37M, named Danny) and grandpa (60M, named Dale/Papaw) watching Curly Sue (a great movie) when we heard gunshots. It was maybe 9 or 10 pm, but it was pitch black. Brooklyn grabbed ahold of my arm (I'm the most mature and brave of the three of us) and said, "Dad, what was that?" Then we heard it again. Mercy screamed, and I covered her mouth. If someone was shooting, we didn't want them to know where we were. Uncle Danny: I don't know, baby, let me go check. Mercy: Be careful, Daddy Papaw/Dale: Oh, y'all are overreacting. It's nothing. Don't worry **continues to watch Curly Sue** **Twenty Minutes Later** Brooklyn: What's taking him so long? We need to leave Mercy: I'm scared Uncle Danny: Don't be. **opens tent and walks in** It's just people throwing firewood into the back of a pick up truck

There was this one time I was on the bus home from school in the dark, and this man sat next to me (mid twenties) that looked really rough. He started asking loads of personal questions like my name, where I lived, who I lived with ect... I lied through all of them from the start because I had a bad feeling. The bus used to stop directly across the road from my house and I was terrified that he would follow me off and do something, I made sure someone else was getting off the bus at the same time as me and walked for a minute or so behind them until the bus drove off with the man still there. Looking back, even though it was really creepy I don't think the guy would've done anything, but better safe than sorry. Another story I have is of a strange boy that had consistently been asking me out for years in highschool, he was a real oddball and sort of slimy. He briefly had a girlfriend that later broke up with him and got a boyfriend. He kept asking me so I eventually caved to shut him up. He started getting weird so I ended up breaking things off, and it was like he snapped and had a mental breakdown. The following day he almost stabbed a teacher in the hand with a craft knife, then on their way home stabbed his ex girlfriend's boyfriend in the neck, luckily not causing any serious harm. I don't know what punishment he received if any, but he tried to contact me a few days later saying sorry and I blocked him completely.
