Just to throw this out there, in the US there are health codes that restrict how much human waste can be handled by regular workers before you have the right to refuse. Worked in housekeeping for a while ( private homes )and they drummed into us that we were not to touch things like blood or puke or even a large amount of feces. Some of these retail workers should check their local laws and stand up for themselves.
@LilDevyl17
@LilDevyl17 3 года назад
@Christina Cartter Yes, there is laws against a lot of that, but unfortunately (and speaking from experience) you have Managers that basically think of you as free labor. They pay you so they pile on everything that *they* don't want to do b/c unfortunately for us, "We're a dime a dozen and can easily be replaced." Not kidding so many managers will do the, "Do you want to go home?" routine or my favorite, "You know I can easily replace you." And yes, this does actually work until you become a Veteran in the Retail/Food Industry.

@@LilDevyl17 Weird. At my workplace, we drum into the minions that they're not to touch anything that came out of someone under any circumstances. Technically, they can't even help clean up their own blood. Only managers, who get the training for it and use PPE, do it.

I use to work at Disney world in Florida. I remember sweeping up some ice cream in front of the attraction I was working at. This woman LOUDLY said to her child “this is why you go to college” while looking at me. I was tired and didn’t care cause I was on hour 10 of a 15 hour shift. I looked right at the woman and said in my most completely fake “Disney” voice “or you could work for Disney world where they pay for you college like me. I’m about to get my masters!” The child was thrilled knowing that they could work at a theme park one day and the mother huffed off. I loved my job there but it wasn’t worth 13 an hour

My "I don't get paid enough for this, moment' was several years ago, working to try to help during disasters in very different areas at a call center. I got a call from a woman that had lost everything, except her and her family. They were sleeping in tents set up on the foundation of her house as the storm just scraped her home away. She was very sweet and never asked for anything other than the location of MRE and water distribution spots. After talking to her and her family I got a call from someone in another area hit by a different disaster. This person SCREAMED profanity calling me every name in the book. Her problem was that we didn't consider her flatscreen TV, of which she had two others, a necessity for immediate help. Going from a kind person who really needed all the help we could give to this screaming me-me who still had almost everything still sticks in my craw me after all these years.

I have so many of those moments. I worked at a shoe store years ago and my coworker was so distracted (on her phone) that she had the highest rate of theft out of everyone. One day that we were working together she had spotted a potential thief. Clearly homeless and tweaking on drugs, reaked like a garbage can in the sun. I had been standing in the aisle with him to watch for anything but then got called away by another customer. The moment I was called away this guy shoved two pairs of shoes in his jacket and starts making his way to the door. My coworker found the boxes before he'd made it halfway and went ballistic. She charged him and demanded the shoes back. He tried to bolt for the door and she beat him to it, reaching into his jacket and pulling out one shoe from each pair... and smacking him with the shoes while screaming to give them back. I had to grab her arm and pull her out of the way. The guy ran away and got on a bike. I was shaking and yelled at her "What if he had a knife? A syringe? What the hell?!" Rule one of theft is to NEVER confront the thief, it's not worth it. She called the police and reported the theft, minus the shoe beating. An hour later the cops showed up with 1 of each shoe and told us the guy had tried to rob a 711 downtown. We got the shoes back but I was so done with that place. She was like a rabid beast and I couldn't wrap my head around assaulting someone over fucking shoes. It was later revealed that she also cost me my raise. Crazy wench.

This reminds me of a guy I used to work with. I’ll call him bob(for reasons). This started a couple years ago at a big name retail store that everyone “KnOwS aNd LoVeS”. When bob first started working, it was my job to train him. I had been there for 3 years already so I was “in charge” of training all the newbies that came in. He had gotten pretty good at everything fast so there wasn’t much for me to do. Well, one day while we were sitting around waiting for customers to check out, a dad and son came in and looked at bob and said to the son: you see that man right there, you go to college and get a good education so you don’t turn out like him. He tried to quietly tell his son that but we all heard it. When they left, bob looked at me with disgust written on his face. I asked him what’s up( knowing that it was the father and son who had pissed him off), and he said it was the dad that pissed him off. He works a second job already and didn’t technically need this job to get by. This was just his play money. His other job was a big IT company that works for all the Home Depot stores nationwide. He was I think second up down the line from his boss?, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is you don’t make fun of someone without knowing what they do or how they got there.

OH!!! The story about doing 'adult stuff' in dressing rooms brought this back to me. I was working in a certain well known store in Oxford Street in London in the late 80's ( They sell fridges ;-) ). A older guy came into the department, he's about the age I am now ( late 60's ) with a STUNNING blonde woman who was MUCH younger...she's wearing a genuine fur coat. After he picked out what he wanted he asked if he could use a fitting room to get his money out of the money belt he was wearing. So obviously I said 'Sure'. About 5 minutes later there's still no sign of them...so I go looking for them. The first three fitting rooms were empty, I get to the last fitting room and not thinking just draw back the heavy curtain. There they are going 'at it' like a couple of Duracell bunnies ! She looked over his shoulder at me...just past her knees ( I'm sure you get the picture ) and winked at me...she was thanking him for the fur coat in the ( ahem ) 'Traditional manner'. She didn't even blush !!

I was doing volunteer work at a food bank with my siblings, aunt and a few other kids, we were doing it because we wanted to but most of the volunteers were doing it to receive government assistance. So when my 8-year-old neighbor refused to bag treats for a Christmas event because he was stocking shelves or something he was enjoying, this older lady started going off to me about how "these kids don't understand that we're here to get our food stamps, and no one wants to be here but we have to, we're all supposed to be working together" and some other stuff, so I bagged the Christmas treats and when my mom picked us up, we told her about the lady and my siblings had similar experiences with other volunteers acting like we had to do what they say and ordering them around because we were kids and didn't know how to stand up for ourselves, my aunt hadn't seen any of it cause she was in another area(that's probably why they were comfortable ordering us around.) We never volunteered there again.

So I get to this house and there's a guy laid out in the front lawn who tells me the pizza is late so it's free. I tell him I can't do that, he can pay for it or I can take it back to the store. He starts yelling at me, tells me to get my ass back in my car and go straight back to the store because he's headed up there to raise hell because "The devil is alive!". I left frazzled and made a mistake that made my next delivery late as well. When I got back to the store my shift lead handed me $5 and said the crazy guy's brother came to the store and apologized, said his brother was drunk and wasn't even the one who ordered the pizza in the first place.

I remember this other story from another Askreddit video by another user who covered the same question. "Psycho camp director lost her shit on all of the lifeguards because we said we weren’t coming back next summer. Reality was we all had legit reasons. I was going to take summer courses to graduate early, another guard was moving to university and was going to work in that city, another guard got offered a head guard spot at a camp near her house, etc. Nothing that said we hated the current camp, just other things going on. We were told in a group meeting if we weren’t happy there we could leave and she would find other guards. Following Friday she calls us all in to tell us what a great job we are doing and how happy everyone is going to the lake. Tuesday after that she calls us in individually to tell us we aren’t working hard enough and she sees us slacking off all the time. Lunchtime Tuesday all the guards walked into her office, told her to go frick herself in front of the owner of the camp, and we all piled into my Ford Focus and went for beer. Went home that night to message from camp owner asking us to give him a call back (we all chatted and realized he had called all of us). Called him the following day, told him what went down. He asked us to reconsider and that he would give us a $5 an hour raise and report directly to him. We discussed it and agreed on the condition that psycho director apologized to us at a collective staff meeting. She refused and had a tantrum. Camp owner fired her on the spot, escorted her off the property and we opened the lake back up. " What an epic story.

I used to work at Walgreens and a homeless man would come in every day that I worked, follow me around the store and when he would walk past me he would sniff my hair. I was so uncomfortable and when I asked my manager if there was anything that could be done and he told me “no, but you can just go into the back storage rooms and wait till he leaves”. The problem was that he never left. He would be in and out of the store ALL DAY. Eventually this guy got bold enough that, as he was doing a pass and sniff, he grabbed my butt. I immediately turned and went into the managers office, handed him my name tag and told him I wasn’t coming back since they couldn’t protect me. I walked out and never went back, not even to shop.

I worked as a leisure operations assistant at my local leisure centre (essentially maintaining everything but the swimming pool) and was cleaning the sports hall one day after the new year's day. There's a school next door and they organise a Christmas assembly in our hall as they can fit all 1600 students in there at once. The 'sound and lighting' team made up of students set up camp in garages to the side where we store equipment. The school tends to clean the sports hall after the event, sweeping the floor and picking up all tape stuck to the floor where they run cables so we don't worry much about cleaning it. I was working approx. 3 weeks after the event, and I noticed a strange smell in the garages. I looked around and found a cup of hot chocolate that's been brewing there for the last 3 weeks. I could see the green fluffy layer of mould at the top, so I left it and went to ask a manager how should I dispose of it. When I came back, someone had knocked the cup over, with the dense chocolate and a thick green cap spilling all over the floor and the stench of rotting milk with a hint of bad cheese blowing up in the air. At this point I just said 'I don't get paid enough for this', informed my manager and let them handle the cleanup. As much as I hate doing that, I would have handed to them anyway as staff in my role are not trained to clean up human and bio-hazardous waste (this counted as the latter as it proved a risk to health).

After taking so much S--t the last straw was when a girl called to reserve a truck but we didn't have the size she wanted and got mad at me and told me my voice was obnoxious. English is not my first language but I'm sure my accent is not obnoxious. After that call, I started to cry and i called my boss and quit.

I used to work at a burger fast food restaurant and one time a customer told us the bathroom was a mess. I was told to go clean it up. I get in there and someone had literally craped their pants and left everything in the bathroom. Pants, underwear and a shirt. The toilet was covered and the floor too. The stench was palpable. I was in there for about an hour.

Retail pharmacy tech here. During the Covid crisis my job has required more and more responsibilities. I was running the Sars-Cov-2 testing for the store one day when my colleague (who was lazy AF anyway) told us she was leaving at noon because her mom was in the hospital. She told us that she was there all night, and that her sister was there during the day, but she REALLY wanted to be there for her. Because of Covid the hospitals only allow one visitor per pt. Period. So Colleague wouldn't have been able to go see her mom as her sister was there. Colleague left anyway, leaving me to run the Sars-Cov-2 testing clinic solo AND her job of drive-thru pickup. I gave my notice later that day. My last day will be next week, about two months later, as I had to train the next techs to be the Covid testers.

I work as a housekeeper for my college, cleaning classrooms and bathrooms and such. One night as I was cleaning the faculty office building, which has a couple of classrooms and a set of bathrooms, I saw that the men's wheelchair stall had a magazine dropped in the toilet. this stall always had reading material in it, which is already disgusting in a public bathroom, and now some gross professor had dropped his magazine and didn't bother to fish it out. I refused to remove it and told my supervisor that the professor can get it because my job is to literally clean shit, not babysit for irresponsible gross professors who should know better.

Simple solution for the plumber is to shut the water off. Flush all the toilets so they are empty and only switch it on after the plumbing. We had this happen at one of my works. We just filled the kettles and water jugs before the plumbing and had a portaloo for the day.

My story was when I worked at a McDonald's as a cashier. I was working the night shift and the breakfast dishes were left, something that is done by the prep person at the end of breakfast. As a night cashier, I was expected to get so much of the evening dishes done, and make sure they can get ready for breakfast(we had an overnight shift). It was a cold day at freezing temperatures, like I said, drive-thru cashier. The water heater also broke that day. It was also a Saturday, our second busiest night of the week. So here I was, with too many dishes, working in a freezing cold window and constantly going back to freezing water. I was the fastest service person at the time, so I went to the manager and asked for me to be put in the front somewhere, I was willing to take two of the positions so one person was on dishes and the other was a cashier. He just asked me 'who is going to do the dishes?' I broke hearing that. I stayed long enough to finish the breakfast dishes( I'm not that big of an asshole) then snuck out of the store when the drive thru had a quiet moment. I always thought they never noticed me unless I messed up. The icing on the cake? An overnight coworker called my cell to ask if I could cover her shift.

This! I quit a Burger King for this. Well technically I was fired but that's neither here nor their. The morning people never do their dishes and the evening people only did enough to keep going. as a night shift person I was always kept hours late doing dishes among my other responsibilities that honestly weren't my job either. I had spoken to the store manager about it and she agreed I could leave during my normal scheduled hours regardless if everything was done. The old lady shift manager thought her word was law. She kept making jabs my whole shift about how everything needed to be done or I was fired. I had already discussed this with her at the beginning of my shift about having spoken with the store manager. The end of my shift came and she dared me to leave...i left.

I have a couple of stories for this Sub! *Story 1* Years ago, about 15 years ago, I used to work at McDonalds for $7/hr. I would close on all my shifts. The thing of it is, I was the *only one* that had a strong stomach, meaning that *I* was the one that had to go and clean the Rest Rooms. Now, normally, this wasn't too bad, every now and then someone might forgot to flush but it wasn't that bad. Until this one time. We had a stall in the Women's Rest Room that had a changing table and a larger trash can for the ones that had little ones. I was cleaning the tables when a kid about maybe 10 or 11 came to me and said that there was a mess in the Women's Bathroom. So, I put the spray bottle and rag back and walked with her to the stall. I was thinking, that someone had an upset stomach and just didn't make it in time. Oh Lord that was not the case! The entire wall, toilet and the floors were covered in puke, piss and shit! The diaper's were over flowing in the trash can that you can see where all of this came from. Some baby had really bad diaria and I had to clean it up! I closed the door, put a *OUT OF ORDER* Sign on there. Told my Manager that I will not be available for about an hour or so b/c I have to clean up a huge mess in the Women's Bathroom. She didn't believe I told her to go look. I grabbed everything. Rubber Gloves, Apron (I was not going to get the crap on me) Hairnet, bleach, disinfected, trash bags, mop bucket full to the brim. When my Manager came back she looked really off and told her flat out, "I don't get paid enough for this shit!" And stomped on to the Bathroom. *Story 2* This happened a couple of years ago. I worked as a Cashier for a Grocery Store and there was this Karen. She came in every week 15 minutes before we closed the night before we do our weekly "Fantastic Friday Sales." The Night Crew will be putting up the tags for the next day. She will come in and grab everything that was *next* to the tag and insist that it was that price! She came in grab the 16 oz. Peanut Butter Jar and insisted that it was $2.88. She started screaming and making a scene about it being that price it wasn't (it was actually $4.88). The 8oz. jar was the one that was on sale, for you guest it the "Fantastic Friday Sale." So, Karen does her usual, "Do I have to get your manager! I know the policy! I get for free!" We changed the policy so we can only give the correct price if it rings up wrong. I just stood there with a, "Are you done yet?" look on my face and said absolutely nothing for about 10-15 seconds. This must of thrown her off, b/c I think she's just so used to people reacting already and getting her way. I told her that we don't do that anymore and I can give the peanut butter for that price. B/C it is almost Friday and this is for the "Fantastic Friday Sale" and if I do get my Manager he would be saying the same thing. She grabbed her peanut butter and did the usual, "I'm never shopping here again! I'm going to be shopping at (Our Competitors Name)" Me just having enough of this woman's attitude just responded with, "Then go shop there!" I'm still trying to figure out how is that a freaking threat? How is you threatening to go shop at our competitors a threat? Especially since the person that your trying to get fired makes minimum wage? Like that's all we're making! I feel sorry for our competitors now since they have to deal with you, Karen!

All employees are required to be trained on the registers, but the person that was supposed to train me was out sick, so my training was delayed until black Friday. So an hour into learning how to read the old registers w/o screens that relied heavily on codes, and they decide that they need more registers open... so they put me on a register all alone in the tire department... the line was aisles long and i didn't have a register code to log in yet. So about 3 hours of complete meltdown, crying for help, and customers/coworkers calling me awful names and being so mean, I decided I was done. I took my lunch and never came back. $7.10 was not enough for me to tolerate that complete lack of preparation.

I was under a lot of stress for personal reasons, and Karen trying to help with dinner when she probably hadn’t washed her hands and wasn’t wearing gloves really get me peeved, and I muttered something under my breath that she unfortunately heard, and I got a lecture from my boss about how I needed to be faster. My former boss is a narcissist who knows plenty about business but nothing about the field his business entails (medicine)... and is constantly trying to tell us how to do our jobs. Even yelled at my supervisor for standing up for me when I made a decision which was in the patient's - not the company's - best interest. Frequently encouraged dispatchers to take as many calls as possible, then forced the supervisors to yell at us for being late. We were often 2-3 hours past shift when we finally finished, then get yelled at for the vehicles not being clean and fueled up. One of the last straws was a particular dispatcher who gleefully ran us into the ground, bragged about it in fact, and willfully sent us into dangerous situations without giving us the details we needed to protect ourselves (example: tells us patient is delusional, "forgets" to mention she might be armed). I made a pretty decent wage, but no amount is worth that. I don't work there anymore.

The last story reminds me of something I experienced too. I was working part-time in a food production company and because I'm small (62 inches) I often had to crawl around tight spaces noone else fit. Then one day I was told to clean a backroom that was never used. I walked in and put on the light, which was only in the front of the room and was nowhere near bright enough to show anything besides the immediate surroundings. And right away I noticed webs on webs full of spiders! At least every 8 inches there was one and the space wasn't wider than about 60 inches and in one part I was supposed to go sideways (about 20 inches wide) to reach another part of the room. I'm scared of spiders. I turned around and refused to clean in there. My coworker was pissed and called the team leader, he listened to my explanation and never told me to clean that room again.

I have an "assistant manager" who doesn't know what he's doing. I work at a very well known coffee/donut shop, and this man doesn't only not know how to put whipped cream on a latte and drizzle chocolate or caramel sauce on it (He does a small layer of whipped cream instead of a dome that matches the lids that we have SPECIFICALLY made for whipped cream) but he also handles the food station immediately after handling money or cards. That is a safety hazard (especially in the midst of the pandemic) and I'VE gotten yelled at by the ACTUAL manager about it. (Not really yelling, more panicking while trying to get me to stop because I didn't know what I was doing lol.) I kept reminding this dude that he can't do that because it's unsafe and instead of letting me handle the food station which I changed my gloves specifically for, he decided to rip the wraps out of my hands like a toddler and told me to go do something that wouldn't have helped anyone. I seriously said I was about to leave. Luckily I decided to stay that day but I went to the back and had a hefty half hour break to calm down. I'm incredibly sensitive because I'm always getting treated like I'm worthless garbage, even when I'm not doing anything wrong. I've been used for people's entertainment and my head still isn't fully over it, it was traumatic to realize that throughout high school I was truthfully alone and didn't actually have any friends who cared. So when I clocked out into y break, I cried. Someone came back and told me "We *ALL* need to calm down but... *WE'RE* all working!" so fucking rude. Luckily my manager came in just in time, asked me why I was in the back and not working, and told me to take my time . The assistant manager has been leaving me alone for the most part.

I have a similar story to the dressing room story: I manned the fitting rooms at a popular “dress for less” store and, while I have several stories about awful customers who berated me when I counted their items (like the sign said I would) and patted them down (also like the sign said I would,) as well as drug addicts locking themselves in or swapping stalls with strangers to steal their wallets, one man made me beg to be taken off the fitting rooms. He came up with one pair of jeans and I could feel him staring at me as I patted them down (I’m female and I was 26 at the time. I was no stranger to the creepy leers as I had previously worked in a bar) but I ignored it and didn’t give him an opportunity to ask me any questions. I had several other customers to check in, but I couldn’t help but notice he was taking quite a long time for one pair of jeans, so I called the security employee over my headset to come back- we thought he was possibly stealing items or doing drugs. When he eventually came out, he did not bring the jeans with him and said to me, “thank you very much, sweetie.” He left the store and I went in to see whether he left the pants inside the stall or put them on under his own. I wish I had sent security in there and not gone in myself because his body fluids were everywhere! On the pants, on the mirror, on the little bench where people sit. I gagged and declared I was taking a break. I never wanted to do the fitting rooms again- that was my last straw. The whole experience working there was so terrible that I just stopped showing up one day. I found myself crying as I got ready and I decided it just wasn’t worth it anymore.

I worked for a bus company, it did essentially four types of services, 1 - contracted route services (eg. City bus or Intercity), 2 - school bus routes, 3 - tour charters (eg. A bus load of the same people for days or weeks), and 4 - short charters (eg. Transport guests for a wedding, take school kids to or from camp).... I normally did option 3, and would also be assigned work for option 4.... one of the option 4 jobs involved collecting, I believe, 110 teenagers and 18 adults from a prominent Semitic school, on a main road, so 3 lanes in each direction. I was driving in a convoy of three large coaches, the school has a gatehouse and gate flush with the footpath (sidewalk), with armed guards. Unbeknownst to me the school requested the registration of each coach, who would be driving each and their licence numbers! So the guards requested to board each coach individually to check registration and assigned driver, before giving us entry, one at a time. A coach is long, and to enter the gate required turning from the middle of two lanes, in morning rush. This was followed by an expectation that as drivers we were to be porters for student's luggage, that is collect from mummy's Mercedes estate in the visitors parking lot to the staging area, and stack it neatly in the storage bins under the coach... we only do the last. They looked down on the driver's... not realising most working for this bus company are asset rich, but cash poor, eg. multimillionaire property, but need to work cover basic living expenses like food.

I used worked at Kroger, and some guy came up literally SCREAMING and SHOUTING at me (other people were looking over). What was his problem, you ask? He didn't get his extra fuel points from the gift cards he bought. I just gave him the corporate number and told him they will fix it for him. "THEY BETTER, OR ELSE I'M REPORTING YOU GUYS TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!" I do not get paid enough for that.

My boss told me I’m racist because I’m white, then made fun of me because I was offended. So on my birthday I came in, got paid. Never went back.

When I cashiered a lady called me racist because I did a price check on her. Normally I just give them it if it sounded reasonable, but this was fifty percent off.

Having worked in a grocery store I was surprise there weren't more. People are such jerks there. I remember once this rather large woman in one of the riding carts provided started to puke and have diarrhea. She was able to sort of contain it, but she basically dribbled that "soup" all the way from the back of the store to the front where the bathrooms were. You could smell the stench from 15 feet outside the door. It was awful.

I worked in a call centre for a year and a half and learned that people will say absolutely anything to call centre employees who are just trying to do their jobs. It's damaged my mental health so badly that I had to start medication again to manage my OCD symptoms, which were annoying but still manageable before then.

Not to mention the creepy old men that me and the other morning girls memorized orders for so they'd go away faster.

I remember from one of my summer camps, high schoolers would volunteer, and one time the cooler one took us to the library and us 3rd graders were NOT behaving, she straight up said, "dude i wish they actually payed me to look out for you, you guys can be soo annoying..." I stopped what I was doing just to look her in the eyes and say, "I know right?"

I'd only go down the spider hallway if I was given a flamethrower and a hazmat suit.

As a lifeguard, there’s many “I’m not paid enough for this crap”. Many times, I had to deal with body fluids IN and OUT of the water. Kids threw up in the pool, one almost sh*t himself, bloody noses. I had to use my gloves hand to take out tp and literal poop out of the toilet a few times. Once had to pick up diapers from the outdoor pool deck and inside the locker room. I dealt with roaches in the indoor pool, bees and wasps outside. People flirting with me. Parents who try to let me ignore the fact their kids are trying to kill each other or themselves by drowning. I was even proposed to once when I was 17 by a 16 year old. And I now have to deal with people forgetting to use their masks and throwing fits because I won’t let them share lanes when there is a limit of one person per lane (there’s 4). I get yelled at still but one movement to the radio to kick them out is what keeps patrons in check. I have plenty of stories that are crazy. Like the one time a supervisor left us with a 300 patron party at the outside pool to do crack about 300 ft away with others at a nearby bench. What a blast. Or about the time two kids had a bad fight outside the pool and had the cops called. Or when a black mom came up to the gate and berated her two kids to get out before she whooped them when she got inside, making a ton of patrons look at her and start packing up. Or the time I was pushed into the pool by some kids and nearly drowned then pushed again by another coworker due to negligence. I almost sued my workplace and them.

I have one! My family owns a lawn care company that does whatever we can and that used to include crawlspaces. I hated waterproofing those and still do but they were good money. Just so you know, they are built in a way that it is very clear that they never intended to go back in it. Apparently, left out chemicals was also something they didn't care for. I got peroxide burns on my hands, feet, and knees and it felt and looked horrific. Didn't go to a doctor, hospital, or even home though, and had to finish the job with white and red bumps everywhere on my body because I couldn't drive.

I worked at a coffee shop as a assistant manager and got a large order right at open. The person that made the order was going to pick up the order in 15 min. We get the order done in time and I take the order out to the customer. On the way back in a homeless man was leaning on the door near the entrance and asked if he could get a small coffee. I said sure, we usually help out when we have time. I got him a small coffee and he thanked me. 15 minutes later the third person on the shift came in and said there was shit all over the wall. I walked out and sure enough there was a chunky pile of poop going down to the wall right were the homeless guy was leaning. I asked for help to clean it, but the other two people on shift said they didn’t get paid enough. I told them neither did I, but I’m just asking for some help and not making someone else do it alone. Finally one of them agreed. It took 10 minutes, but it was shitty. Still have no idea why the homeless dude decided to poop there after we helped him. Maybe he didn’t like the coffee. We never saw him again.

Many years ago, I was working full time for a supermarket, and had transferred to the instore bakery. One time, I was asked to go in on my day off, as they were short-staffed, so I did. A couple of hours in, we were running short of a few products, so my manager (who was also helping in the bakery - he normally ran all of Fresh Foods) gave me a list of things that needed to be baked. The items on the list had varying bake times and bake temperatures, so I racked up some of them to get them baking, then went back to rack up the others to go in separately. The manager then proceeded to yell at me (in full sight and earshot of the customers) about how I was not baking the whole list... I tried to explain that we only had one spare oven, and that they needed different times and temperatures, but he wouldn't listen - so I thought "Screw this" and walked out... The next day, I got to work an hour early, specifically so I could go to the HR manager to speak to her about what had happened... not only did I not get into any trouble for it, but the manager had to make an official apology to me!
