Watching your videos persuaded me to join your "All Access" program! I've been playing the piano and singing since I was a kid, but my piano teachers were all classical/sheet music based. I learned a lot that way, and I know a lot of theory, but always wanted to be a better improviser. I've taught music myself and conducted choirs for over 30 years, but I learn something new every time I watch one of your vids! Videos like this are inspired, because of the way you break things down, start simply, and build up gradually. I also love your more "system's based" rather than "theory based" approach to explaining things. You clearly know your theory, chord extensions and alterations, etc., but you have a great way of pointing out more intuitive approaches to things that are immediately applicable in any key, and leave the player with so many more options than thinking strictly in keys while playing. The possibilities it opens up are enormous. I am super impressed! I love practicing this sequence. Those chromatic passing chords are brilliant! I'm also working on the approach to ii-v-i in all keys 12 from your Jump Start collection. I've known this progression for a long time, but again, never done in quite that way! Even going back to your basic videos, I'm learning new ways to think about how I play. I'm having a blast! Bravo to you and the rest of your instructors. Keep it coming!
Ohhh the way you break down cords for everybody to actually understand makes your videos a pleasure to watch over and over. Not to forget your vibe, energy and smile. I think I just found my new virtual teacher. Thanks 👍😄
I am a very new person to the piano. But I admire the instrument so much and have always wished and loved to know (learn) how to play it. This video is amazingly simplified in such a way that even as a novice I can understand some stuff. Please I would appreciate having the links to videos for novices and beginners who want to start from scratch. Thank you in anticipation.
Thanks for this huge one again KC u've always added value to way I play the piano every time I follow ur lessons.. they r sometimes hard to digest but that just shows what it takes to become a better pianist.. thanks again 🙏 all the way from Cameroon..
Ah, wow!! I truly appreciate your kinds words, thank you!! So glad the tutorials are helping you out on your musical journey - keep up the good work!! Much love to you in Cameroon! ☀️💚
I’ve been looking for a tutorial like this for R&B chords! Thank you…at work atm but I’m gonna practice this when I get home 💪🏾 Update: home now and as I practice I feel like some of these chords were used in Chris Brown’s song “Up To You”. I looked up the song on tunebat and it says the key is C# maj.
Hey man, when I think I've seen everything, you appear with another musical miracle, just to say it, and to all who see this, to those who have ears to hear, you are revolutionizing musical teaching, I say breaking chains, what else can I say. all the best, post data.. Thanks a lot!
Yo what's crazy is I definitely heard these chords and this progression on a video of a Usher concert. It was during the intro for U Got It Bad! That's so dope to see the break down

Awesome video. I have so many questions that I don't even know where to begin. How do beginners know when to use inversion when playing? BTW, I can watch your content for hours. So impressive. I want to learn piano just from watching you play.
I'm also a beginner, and I'm taking Pianote classes. They recently did an inversion bootcamp. In a nutshell, use inversions when moving through a progression, and choose the ones that feel comfortable to your fingers as you play through the progression.
