My wife uses special order hat products for colored hair, we don’t really eat candy, I buy local coffee and just drink filtered tap water. 16:15 For people with anxiety: keep in mind that this doesnt always work. It helps to bring you back to reality, but remember; anxiety works differently for EVERYONE and anxiety never works logically. This does usually help calm you down, but it depends on how your anxiety works and how severe the attack is. Every coping mechanism works differently for everyone; it takes trial and error to figure out which works best for you. I found it often also helps to find out the trigger (if there is one; sometimes there isnt, since again, anxiety does not work logically). I once had an anxiety/panic attack because of a teacher of mine and doing this didn't help calm me down. Like I said, it depends on the severity. Hyperventilating often makes it worse as well and can make you light headed, so try to control your breathing as well as you can (it's okay if it's not perfect; it's hard to control anything in that situation, especially if you're hyperventilating.) -A teen with 2 anxiety disorders
@sylvrwolflol
@sylvrwolflol Год назад
On the flip side, the most effective way to calm someone _else_ is by: -making your presence known without touching, speaking loudly, or making quick movements -gentle affirmation if they start babbling, nothing committal and _no giving unsolicited advice_ -saying that you're here, you're not going to leave, it's okay. -If they request for you to leave, respect their wishes. Check back in later with comfort food or something similar, give them at least 5-10 minutes. From an adult who has similar problems, and has had a lot of time to learn on both sides of the equation.

I've found that grounding only helps me when the cause of the anxiety attack is a "what if" situation with no basis in my current circumstances. If it's something that's happening right now, or just happened, it doesn't work. Because the event is/was a part of reality, being brought back to reality doesn't do anything for it in my case. Thank you for clarifying that it doesn't always work for everyone. A lot of people will see one mental health tip and apply it to a situation where it doesn't help, which just stresses them out more.

13:45 if the chart maker is going to make fun of the Imperial system they should at least know why the measurements are the way they are before making the chart. For example, they put a question mark next to Fahrenheit because they can't comprehend the fact that a measurement system not based around measuring water isn't ideal for measuring water. It is instead based around how it feels outside in a sort of percentage based system.

Well back in the 70s the united states passed the metric conversion act and created a special administrative board to control the transition for school curriculums, Road signs, and Gasoline infrastructure among other things. The board had little real power but could examine facts and determine the best course of action. It's important to note that the conversion program was stipulated as voluntary in the act and there are some industries that did transition to the metric system though they tend to be internationally geared industries like trade and the sciences and manu consumer goods have both netric and standard measures on them. In the end the metric board was disbanded in 1981 after being largely ineffective. I am by no means an expert in this particular aspect of US history. I imagine that the problem came in trying to convince the states, congress cant really force the states to comply without abusing 2 specific clauses in the constitution and if the metric board was being unproductive then it makes sense for it to be dissolved.

I know it's probably harder than I think since I've never done it, but it's *one* thing. And didn't some editor already mention that they have to pad the runtime so they get paid for their work? Then how come they won't tell their voice actors to actually spend time making the content instead of lazily cutting it short because they "don't feel like it"?

I’m no bird main, I’m more into featherless bipeds like a lot of the fanbase, but if I had to guess I’d say a crow can afford to have more of its members die, as opposed to ravens, which don’t have members, only a best bud.

at 15:08 with the snow cancellation map, it doesn't take in account for long bus routes that can't be done in even 4 inches of snow, so a county might get a lot of snow and show up high on this list, but school would get cancelled after only 4 inches of snow due to slippery roads.

No, they're called 'king' cobra because they eat other snakes, that's where the king part of their name comes from. As for not being a cobra? Their hood is a classic case of convergent evolution: they are genetically unrelated to true cobras, they're a different biological group.

One time I was having trouble breathing when I was at someone else’s house so i went into the bathroom to calm down because I assumed I was having a panic attack. I tried to ground myself in reality but reality wasn’t staying consistent. I also realized that it felt like there was something on my neck but i wasn’t wearing anything around my neck that would cause that. I then tried feeling beyond my reality (idk how to explain it) and that’s how I realized that I was dreaming. I left that bathroom and walked out the front door to wake up. It turned out that my weighted blanket was skrunched up ontop of my neck.

11:15 now that graphic is just dumb. the triangle day month year is completely arbitrary. that one can be redrawn to favor american month day year, or even japanese year month day. that one's just biased
@yourLocalSentientThing
@yourLocalSentientThing Год назад
I argue the triangle isn't arbitrary, since it represents the increase in the size of measurements in the order day, month, year. Months are longer than days, thus in the triangle graphic the month component is bigger than the day component. This is the same with years and months.
