The sandwich time thing reminded me of a time when my sister and I were doing late shifts at McDonald’s and a cop came through the drive-thru and ordered some stuff but before my sister could give it to him he got a call so he had to leave. I felt bad since I don’t think he came back for his stuff. Also, another story, apparently there’s a guy who comes through the drive-thru (he isn’t allowed inside the building anymore) and he always stares at the female workers, so whenever he comes by a male worker or a shift manager has to hand out his food. When McDonald’s had all its guest bathrooms locked it was pretty funny but annoying when people would come in, try to use the bathrooms and get pissed at us when they weren’t open. In our school, we have a rule that states: Females can't wear tank tops because it is "Distracting" For the male students. We have dubbed it the "Sexy Shoulders Rule" Like, come on! If all us gays can keep our hands to our self in the locker rooms then boys can keep it in there pants. Edit: I also want to state that we have a rule for shorts: they can not be more than a credit card's length above the knee. I get that but in some of the uniforms for sports and such (Like cheerleading) their butts are literally hanging out their, I am going to assume it's supposed to be a dress, uniforms. I am not joking.

When i was in middle school my mom said she got a call from the school about my outfits because I was wearing nothing but BLACK and where afraid of me becoming "GOTH". I looked at her like she was crazy and she had that look of "yeah I thought so too" So because of that I could only wear black once in a while in middle school. Also it was a public school so I didn't have to wear a uniform and I was following the dress code that they had so I don't know where they got that idea from.

I’m 21. When I was in 6th grade I and others were absolutely sent home for shoulders, shirts being “too tight,” short/dress length, types of pants, prints, etc. Boys are told to essentially wear clothes. Girls have paragraphs of rules to follow regarding dress code. If I could upload pics I’d literally send pics of some of my old school brand planners that had the dress code plainly stated, men vs women. I’ve been to 14 schools in the states. They’re all the same. I was sent home for wearing a black T-shirt because it was “too tight” (it wasn’t. My mother was prudish at the time and would never allow me to leave the house in anything mildly sexy, let alone inappropriate.) I didn’t even own “inappropriate” clothes but because I had breasts at 13, I was punished and shamed for it. My mom of course snapped but they gave her some bullshit about keeping the boys from distractions which made my mom even angrier.

As a parent of a teenage girl, I always somewhat hoped she'd get dress coded at some point after hearing all of the horror stories just so I could rip the school a new one. Never happened though, guess we don't have insane "dress codes" in our area.

Omg, that first story reminded me of something that happened to me about two years ago. As part of my degree, I had to spend a couple of months as a student teacher as well. I was 21 at the time, but I've always been told I look younger. On one of my first days, I was standing just outside the school building, phone in hand to let my flatmate know I had made it safely and on time to the school, when one of the teachers walked past me, stared at me as if I'd committed a crime, and almost snatched my phone out of my hands while demanding why I brought my phone to school. You should have seen her face when I calmly and politely told her I was way too old to be a student there and was in fact a student teacher. (Thankfully, it didn't escalate further, but if she had taken this issue to the principal, she would have gotten a nice surprise when she found out the principal was actually my uncle!)

back when i was in hs, our school news show did a section on the dress code. not only did they straight up say that "girls had more rules than boys" but they also told girls they had to cover their shoulders....and collarbone....and ELBOWS. this was near the end of the school year AND the handbook said nothing about elbows. i used to get dress coded for wearing shorts while my friend next to me wearing the same ones wouldn't. guess why? my friend was super super skinny and I'm a size 12.
