As someone who grew up in the evangelical church, telling girls they're asking for it by dressing pretty much any way that isn't in a Hijab is very common. I frankly wouldn't be surprised if it's gotten worse in the years since I left the church. While you could never have called most evangelicals liberal, they didn't used to be openly fascist either. I guess most of them miss the part in the New Testement where Jesus tells a bunch of people that you explicitly cannot blame a woman if you think or act with impurity towards her. Also a bit funny here: if an evangelical woman dressed conservatively enough to never be accused to being a temptress, she would probably be mocked for looking like a Catholic (evangelicals have a weird degree of hatred of Catholics) or attacked for being too close to Islam. The church is so fucked up. I pretty much abandoned ship as soon as I graduated college.
The sexualizing of large breasts is ridiculous. It is actually very common, especially with devote Christians, to associate large breasts with promiscuity. I've had a few ex's that were quite busty and if I've learned one thing it's that jealous women have absolutely _no_ limit when it comes to shaming each other for the bodies they were born in. One particularly sensitive ex came home in tears on more than one occasion because of nasty comments.
I have a D cup and some rather chunky legs. The amount of comments I get from random people is astounding, positive and negative. Even positive ones make me uncomfortable though... 4th story: Great kids. Good intuition that something was wrong. @1musamune I think situations like this are why it would probably be best for the identity of the accused to be anonymous until sentencing. So many falsely accused get their lives ruined despite being innocent. Of course, there would probably have to be measures taken just in case they're guilty, but still.

@1musamune Of course, it can be a pain proving malicious intent since there could just be a lack of evidence. But if someone can be shown to have that intent (such as if they were trying to blackmail the accused or have a history of false accusations), then they should probably receive a sentence like what the accused would have received.

When I worked as a lifeguard at a local pool, we had a kid come to the pool and start swimming. About an hour later the mother appeared and started screaming about how we just let people into the public pool to swim (it was free so there was no one at the gate). Some of the other parents who were there, said that she should be thankful that the kid came someplace that has adult supervision to play, but she had none if that and told the manager that she was going to tell 2 of the local news stations how the public pool, which is listed as kids only, adults must be accompanied by a child, just let's kids come in and swim without their parents. The bulk of the kids there didn't have their parents (typical days and 250-300 kids, and maybe 20 adults) having a kid or a group of kids just show up and start swimming is how things typically happened The manager told her not to forget the other local TV stations. The other parents were amused, but she wasn't.
Oooh story 1 and 2 got my blood boiling. Had to add this story because my dad is my hero. My aunt Married a man who had an 11 year old girl and of course she started coming to family events and camming over to my house for cookie nights when my other cousins would. When she was about 12-13 she started acting weird towards my dad. Sitting on his lap, hanging all over him, giving him too many hugs and kisses and it made him uncomfortable. My dad made excuses to go do something else and waited till both her parents came and talked to them and told hey this is what Susie is doing can you please talk to her, I don't want her to feel bad or not come over but she cannot act like this. It stopped. Now the girl's mother died young so might have been working though some stuff or confusing my dads friendliness for something else right at puberty time either way you expect inappropriate behavior from kids because they don't know how to act. I only know about this because I was talking a decade later about some weird behavior from one of my in laws relatives and he shared the story as a way to help me address the issue so no one talked crap about Susie at the time an none of the other kids in her generation knew there was anything a miss.

My aunt listened then pulled her hand back and slapped her as hard as she could and called her a little bitch for flirting with her man, and trying to steal him, and if she tried again she would beat the crap out of her and get the f*ck out of my house.” (this aunt later bragged about how she gave the bitch a bitch slap) my cousin sobbing left and her mom was livid but didn’t do anything, then the next weekend that aunt began calling my cousin asking where was she, she was supposed to babysit, and my cousins said not only was she never babysitting again, but that aunt and uncle better stay the hell away from her, that she loved the kids she baby sat but what nothing to do with their parents. Then she hung up and refused to answer any more calls. That first story was so very similar except the dad was innocent of anything and the mom’s insecurities came thru regardless. Story 1 reminds me of when I was that age & our neighbor called & wanted us to come over and play baseball. The family was super religious. We told them sure, but we couldn't stay long because we were about to head to the pool. It was me, my little sister and best friend. We all threw on shorts with our one piece bathing suits. Everything was fine until the neighbor boy got hit by a ball & told his dad. His dad came out yelling at us, calling us jezabels & other colorful words. Telling us we were going to Hell and the usual. Needless to say, those kids never really had any friends...
To the beach guy, check your property lines. I used to live closer to the beach and had people pass through all the time until I built a fence, but another guy in the same town had a different problem. There were public stairs next to his property that lead to the beach, and a stone wall separating his property from the stairs, even the sign said it was public. Turns out (though I'm not sure how this came to light) that the stairs are actually private property, and are part of his house. As soon as this was found out, he chained off the stairs with a private property sign on the chain, and people still kick up a fuss years later that the "public" stairs aren't public anymore, they never were, but nobody knew that. My 13/14 year old cousin recently got told off by a teacher for wearing semi-revealing clothes at school. She said “I’m not going to change my clothes. My job is at a day care and there is a door connecting one of our baby rooms with a corridor leading to the church hall next door (it’s a weird old building). The hall hosts a dance class during after school hours. We were closing up one day at around 6pm and found some random mom in the baby room using our toys to play with their baby. As soon as she saw us, she started hurriedly saying “sorry, so sorry” over and over as she grabbed her baby and walked out the connecting door. She was clearly a bored parent waiting for the dance class to finish, found the room and went inside to keep her baby amused. Like lady! You know you shouldn’t be in there so don’t go in there - you’re apologetic because you knew you were in the wrong and got caught!! We kept ensuring that door was shut properly when that baby room was empty after that. Talk about a safety risk to the children!!
In regards to the 4th Story, don't sweat it too much, rSlash. My mom & I have a saying for situations like that: "Explaining the behavior does not excuse it." It's easy to explain why someone is an awful person...JUSTIFYING it, though... I mean, just take a look at Story #1; the MOMENT I heard this woman was blowing up at a 13 year old, saying she was "begging for attention" & "trying to get herself r****" I just knew there were two possibilities: this mom's either a PeaTo or a Cucco. Turns out I was half right: the lady's a Sony VPL-XW5000ES. >;)
The first story is just rage inducing, like she’s a young girl going through puberty and just existing, and this GROWN WOMAN was so insecure that she shamed a young girl. I hate how this sort of thing happens, just because a girl is going through puberty! I’m really glad the dad called her out on her behaviour, and got divorced. I’m allergic to chlorine, which I was always grateful for because it meant I wouldn’t get harassed when swimming. Why? Because at 13 I had a C cup chest, which was obviously beyond any of my control. Did that stop young boys, teenagers and literal grown men from sexually harassing me? NOPE. Did it stop grown women from treating me differently like I was some harlot? Also NOPE. Puberty sucks, but what especially sucks is how young females are going through hormonal and bodily changes and shamed for those changes, traumatising them for those changes, and harassing them. Wanna know what prevalent issue I’ve had my whole life (outside of disabilities I have)? Body image issues. I got harassed so much when younger, young girls my own age who were friends distanced themselves from me, their mothers spoke about me in front of my face, I got harassed by older men who were 30+, all for something I had zero control over, going through puberty and developing breasts, and as such all of that hardcore shame, judgment and harassment lead to lifelong body image issues. It just sadly stays with you, so I really hope OP has supportive people in her life.

I felt for the first girl. I have had very large breasts from a young age, around 10. It's hurt my back and forced me to wear a bra before a lot of other girls my age. I have felt insecure about them because people automatically assume I have a high sex drive or that i'm a pervert of some kind. I am an asexual and hate it when people sexualize me. I can't imagine how horrible she must have felt when the mom told her that. It honestly almost made me cry because i know how it feels to be sexualized and have the worst assumed because of your breast size and no girl should have to go through that.
I will never understand how people have the audacity to stomp over someone else's yard, take whatever they want or even tearing out plants just so they can sit their pampered, entitled asses down. NEVER give permission for your house to be used as a playground to children. Even if you have cameras there's always that potential thing of happening I could land you into serious trouble. Especially when you have a pool.
That 3rd story. OP was so irresponsible. Heard you're liable if something happens to kid on your property. Idiotic to not have fenced yard. And leaving your pet out for many hours? At least make damn catio so it can have safe space.
i was 11 and a woman accused me of messing around with her husband because i played cards (gin rummy) with him...he never tried anything and i never felt uncomfortable and she was my moms best friend...i didnt even like boys then i was a lil chubby girl that didnt even have my cycle yet...it was just crazy i didnt even know what she meant when she accused me of it

I feel the slut shaming bullshit. I developed a big chest when I was younger and get cat-called and slut shamed way too often (started at 11) even though I almost always dress extremely modestly. In fact, I only at 17 have gotten confortable wearing shorts and tank tops outside of home. I just started ignoring it more since I'm so used to it. Though, that's not even a good thing since "no person - male, female, big, small - should have to be subject to harassment" so much as to get used to it. If I ever do go through with adopting a child as an adult, I am going to raise them with that principle (I put it in quotes) in mind. Also, quick note if this was worded weird. I have a horrible time explaining my feelings with words, so if this reads strangely, I'm sorry. I also have a tendency to overexplain.
