I heard an update from where Rslash left it. Dan's wife was cheating on him, the fourth kid wasn't from Dan and she was indeed a golddigger using the kids as a leash on Dan. In the end Dan filled for divorce and surprisingly OP let Dan stay in the camper and gave a room to the kids while Dan sorted things out. In the end Dan indeed grew up and things got better between him and OP. The real source of the toxicity was Dan's ex wife.
Eh, I'm sceptical of the SIL being the only source of the toxicity. After all, the family was treating OP like dirt when he and Dan were kids, long before the SIL came along. It seems more like the SIL being such a toxic presence in their lives and then removing her shone a light on how toxic the rest of their behaviour was.
I love how hypocritical OP's parents are. They expect OP to give up his house to "do it for Dan" yet they aren't willing to give up their house and live in a camper for Dan.

@@bibigamer502 Yeah my mom is the same way: growing up I was always guilted into doing things for "the family" but if I needed something in return suddenly I was selfish. My mom just last year needed a ride to a funeral for someone I have not seen since I was like 9 years old (it was an old friend of hers) I told her to ask a bout getting a ride with someone who was going because I had plans that weekend. She complained about how she couldn't (she knew for months by the way as this was a memorial service so it wasn't a last minute thing). She then tried to guilt me into it and one of the things she mentioned was this was important so I should cancel my plans. I asked her why she couldn't ask my sister to cancel her plans and she said, "Well that's different!" I told her find another ride and hung up the phone.

It's funny when people threaten something that they've either already done or that they've already done to the other person. Dan, and his parents are scum. But Dan's wife is the scummiest. No wonder they don't have a home if she keeps spending money like she does. From what we heard now they are about one of the most entitled delusional people i've ever seen. Not enough they did demand Op to literarry give up his house so they can live there for free and he has to pay it off. They one day just faked an agreement, let themselves in and rolled up in a moving truck...AND changed the locks. And given the whole backstory of Dan bullying op, his gf/wife bullying op. The patents enabling and forcing op to make all the sacrafices? Yea no. If that was me id 100% sue them for that stunt if it wasnt for innocent children caught in the middle. As if sister in law couldnt use her degree to raise income and get their own house. If the supposed "Deadbeat homeless brother" could with hard work and their parents only support Dan anyway? Just Insane.

I just feel bad for those kids. They’re caught in the middle of all that drama. Btw, everyone who owns a home should have cameras installed asap. Squatters often will move into empty houses with a fake lease and claim to be tenants. Homeowners end up having to go to court to get them out. In this case, it was OPs own family who tried to pull this. That is beyond low.
The biggest takeaway from this entire story should be that none of them learned a damn thing from any of this. After OP threatened to ruin their lives and ignore their BS crocodile tears. Then months later being shamed by the entire family, even the grandparents saying that they are disappointed in them publicly, they still had the nerve to ask OP to help them with housing. Despite all of that they didn't get the point at all, they should know if they tried any thing their life would be over, OP they're never going to change because they'll never see what they did wrong, and if I were you I would just stop talking to them at all no phone calls no social media just completely black. Edit to add: wait I another take away is that none of these people are smart enough to commit a crime. Like everything they did to try to steal OP's house from under him with just pathetic and I wish he did press charges.
There's an update to part 4. The parents moved into the camper and gave Dan and rhe alcoholic their house so they have more room. That delicious, delicious karma.
Op should have called the cops when the sil hit him. The family will never give up because they know that he will not turn them in. If he would have pressed charges maybe some of this could have been avoided.
I love that they offer rent _after_ breaking into OP's house. That should have been their first offer, not their last, and especially not after they demanded he give them the house.

I truly wished he'd pressed charges on SIL for striking him. It seems like with her gone there's no real loss - Dan could dig himself out of the debt hole, Mom could continue caring for the kids, maybe they'd actually get their lives together without her. She seems to be one of the larger roots of the issue. Yes, OP's blood family is AWFUL. But now that they've surrendered on the house, SIL is what's holding them back from actually moving out.

Man, I felt like getting an ulcer from the toxicity in this story. Luckily there's a counterbalance of karma served properly. OP should definitely hold on to any evidence he hopefully still has of his family's antics, because as the brother's kids grow older (and more toxic due to crappy parenting) he can dump the evidence on them if they choose to start causing trouble for OP on their own.

First Story and only story: I remember this story and oh my god I’m soooo sick and tired of hearing "dO iT fOr DaN". Dan isn’t owed a thing and I’m really surprised OP didn’t press charged, sue, and ruin their lives. I get OP isn’t doing that for the kids' sake but honestly at this point, u have to look out for urself. Dan, SIL, and their parents are absolutely insane. They committed crime after crime and nuked any form of relationship because OP's parents are horrible people, played favorites, and raised Dan to be an entitled, spoiled brat. I’m glad the other family members came around and took OP's side. These people are batshit crazy and need to be shunned for their actions. I’m sorry but OP is being too generous at this point. The moment I seen Dan, SIL, and parents I would’ve called the cops and have them arrested. OP's patience is next level. The moral of this story is: don’t play favorites. They are getting exactly what they deserve

Hi there Rslash, when you were reading the last part when OP's parents and brother talked him into meeting in a public place. What I was expecting was this, that they were getting OP out of his home in order to trying what they did before... changing his locks, moving their stuff in and as much of OP's stuff out. Because the way they are described, they seem dumb enough or entitled enough to try something like that again. But, them asking OP to co-sign for them (or whatever it's called) to get an apartment... just like what you brought earlier Rslash, they might pay the first month if rent, then stop... so OP is responsible for it.
Man, so good for OP to have such a strong back to handle this amount of stress. I don´t know how i would have reacted if my family would had been that toxic and just forced their way into my hard earned home like that, even with breaking into it and just "move in" and all the other fake stories. Not much they can do there. OP is an adult with his own bank account. Or do you think that relatives can just walk up to the bank and take out cash out of someone else's account? Even if they could OP would notice and it would be very easy to trace it back to them and then he can sue them for theft and fraud.
It's fiscal responsibility like that that enabled OP to buy the house in the first place. Apparently 'Do it for Dan' didn't cover teaching him to be a responsible adult.
Well you can’t exactly walk into a bank and demand someone else’s money. Are they stupid enough to try? Most definitely, but the bank would notify OP and call the cops. And probably press charges against them.
what surprises me is that op is not trying to be more petty about it and actually doing more than just tarnish their reputations. if i were him, i say press charges at bare minimum. maybe i am just a bit more vengeful but that's what i'd do especially since i guarantee that his parents and brother will go right back to pulling all the stops to take the house again. embarrassing them won't be enough to get them off his back but truly hitting them where it hurts definitely will
Ah, this story was lovely to listen to. These creatures are very interesting and entertaining as they seem to be living a different reality than normal people. The SIL in particular is an entertaining animal, being so toxic and her brain cells does not understanding why her entitlement is going her way. How Dan is not arrested for marrying a girl who’s mentality and behavior is that of an underage bratty girl is beyond me. I was really hoping that Rslash would cover the updates in this story soon and my dream did become reality. That family are not clowns, they are the whole Clowning Entertainment industry. MAN! Agreed. I am especially impressed because the type of brainwashing that OP must have received literally from the day he was born is SO strong. I am so happy for him that he overcame it and managed to carve out a happy life for himself and to stand up to, and ultimately cut out, these toxic people.
This story REALLY needs a part 3! I went to OP’s account and things have got EVEN MORE INSANE since. Let’s just say a lot more stuff about SIL has come out, she’s lost her mind, and the family is done with her.
So no short, the sil (or that bitch as It's her new nickname) cheated on Dan and the baby isn't his (the other three are his), she blamed it all on Op and Dan and attacked both Dan and the father when they asked her to leave, even hitting her oldest son in a crossfire. Police was called, she got arrested and bailed out (probably by her parents). She then went to Op to yet again blame him for everything I think he even tried to attack him, but after he pointed out that there are cameras she left quickly. At the divorce, she got her affair partner (bronze tounge as Op called him) to be her wittiness or something, this guy said that it's Dan's fault for not being a man enough for the ex sil and added that he's ready to be a father but said that Dan still needed to pay alimony. The judge (who hates cheaters) that it ain't happening and granted the divorce with ex sil getting some visitations with she does as rare as possible. After that Dan wanted his name to be taken out of the certificate, that bitch didn't wanted but she couldn't do nothing about it and it was taken down. After that Op even helped his family by babysitting sometimes and even enjoyed being an uncle. The bronze tounge broke up with ex sil because as he clamed he's "too young to be a father" (this mf just turned 40). Dan finally decided to be a man and asked Op if he could borrow his van so his son could have a room, Op agreed since Dan was an ahole, he's still his brother and Op mainly does it for the kids. The ex sil, as a true narcissist made fun of Dan on days she visited, but Dan doesn't care at this point. The last update was that someone egged his truck, he thinks it was his ex sil since that person was wearing alot of clothes to mask themselves. So yeah.
There’s another update. It turns out the SIL was the one who was basically pulling the strings and making everyone entitled and crazy. Dan hit his breaking point when he discovered the baby is not his kid. SIL cheated on him and when confronted she attack Dan, the dad, and her oldest kid (son) and got arrested. After being released by her parents she went to confront Op and also tried to attack him but got scared when he said he’ll call the police, and he finally got a restraining order against the ex-sil. Shortly after Dan got a lawyer and divorce/sue the ex, got his name off the birth certificate and got most of the custody of the kids. Ex-SIL can see her kids but hasn’t. The family “made up” with op now that the ex-sil is out of the picture. She ended up with the affair partner and he broke up with her for being too crazy and now works for her parents job. Dan ask op for his trailer as his own room till he can buy one, (he gave his room up for his only son) and his son finally has his own room. It kinda ended on good note now that evil woman is out of their lives.
I will NEVER in a trillion years understand how someone could act like that to their own family, or even another human being in general. The entitlement is through the roof, absolutely astonishing! I am GOBSMACKED! I just- I- WHAT?!
OP needs an order of protection. The fact that they KEEP TRYING after DRILLING THROUGH OP's LOCK tells me that the only thing that will make them stop is a judge.
The best type of entitled parents stories are the ones where they don’t know when to quit. The avalanche of consequences raining down on them is beautiful.
