I have waist length hair and I can’t stand sitting on it, but, THIS, THIS. Throwing it over a chair/seat, using your hair to violate someone’s space!?!? How horribly rude. Ponytail holders, hair clips, Bobby pins!?!? I, seldom, travel with my hair down, because it’s irritating to deal with in these situations. She’s lucky it was just bubble gum. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

Now that I think of it, that dumb broad was pretty trusting of the general population. A truly imaginative fellow passenger might have come up with something truly horrible - like dumping ink or hard liquor or who knows what on that long hair - starting up close to the scalp. Re the bubble gum - a childless friend of ours told my 4 yr. old daughter that he stored his gum behind his ear when he was done with it. You guessed it - I ended up cutting a 6 inch long chunk of hair out from behind her little ear. Our friend didn't hear the end of that one for a while. (I also had to train him not to hide peas under the edge of his plate when he had dinner with us.)

But if I'm so desperate that my only option would be grossing out people around me, I do have the ability to tie it in a few different types of knots that will hold themselves in place. I had a cop's son causing me problems. I was dating his ex-wife, she had a restraining order against him he was constantly violating. He'd force his way into her house if she was home, he'd break in when she wasn't. Cops wouldn't do anything. Finally he fucked up, he left a threatening note on her door saying "I saw you with him, I know where he lives." I called the precinct and said "this is about Officer Murphy's son again. You've ignored our complaints. He's now left a note threatening my safety. The note is in the hands of my lawyer, and if I see this on her property or mine, I will be armed and I will treat him as a threat. Tell Officer Murphy if he wants to protect his son, stop ignoring his law breaking and tell him to stay away." Never saw the guy again. Unfortunately I didn't have a good enough excuse to use bear traps, lol.

Best trespassing story I saw on here recorded as it happened. Tired of trespassers. The guy had people fishing in his pond all the time. He put up signs that said the area was contaminated. He picked up a set of cheap disposable coveralls and respirator walked up to a couple of people fishing in the pond with the coveralls and respirator on and asked them if they had seen the signs and proceeded to tell them all of their gear and clothing was contaminated and would have to be left where it was and that they could wear their clothes until they got to their cars. Then to remove the clothing , drive home naked it should keep the car from being contaminated then take a shower for at least half an hour. It was funny how scared the people were.

True. Years back I worked in a manufacturing setting and our supervisor quit and was not replaced. It was a small team and I gradually took on a few more responsiblities, one of which involved knowledge of jobs starting in the pipeline and coordinating with other teams before ours, the final assembly and shipping station. I began to notice that my colleagues were starting to defer to me because I always kept them in the loop as to any major jobs coming through and did my damnest to jump in and assist them when things got busy. They'd approach me with problems and I had no problem bringing concerns (like why the f*k are we bringing in our own tools to do our jobs?) to management. I became their supervisor by their consent because I was there for them. I quit the first time due to the one witch on the team (her outburst to me was epic and witnessed by everyone) and I was called back to meet with the big boss and my manager. Big boss told her to immediately make me the supervisor in that department (he'd talked to my co-workers). That didn't happen for many months until we were all called in to the manager's office and she officially told them that I was their new supervisor. They all sort of laughed, and one older guy said, " You know he's been doing that job for over a year, now." The only one not happy was the witch, and I quit the second and final time because I wasn't supported in reporting her attutude which just got worse. She was a "lifer" of the worst sort. But the guys gave me the great gift of trust in my leadership because they knew I cared about them, wouldn't ask them to do anything I wouldn't, and never, ever, threw anyone under the bus. The witch is still there and making people's lives miserable from what I've heard, and it's small wonder that the employees are coming and going like they're in a revolving door that could be harnessed to generate electricity.

I have had way too many occasions where someone has yanked it or it has gotten tangled because it was loose that I am a bit paranoid about it. On this side of the world, all fences are right on the property line, and there is case law which pretty firmly establishes who has to pay what, when and how much, and also when it's appropriate to force a fence to be rebuilt. As far as payment is concerned, it's directly linked to how much of the fence line you share with a neighbour, which means you pay exactly half and your neighbour pays exactly half if the fence only borders your two properties. Fence size and allowable styles are both regulated by local government rules.

There's a textbook law school case on this that's nicknamed the shotgun booby trap. You can't booby trap your property to deal with known thieves/trespassers, and are liable for the damages. Maybe the warning signs and plausible presence of bears would get around this but it seems shady to me. The guy got lucky

@benroberts2222
@benroberts2222 Год назад
@@syrusorelio2309 because human lives/health are more valuable than property. And in some of these cases you know you're likely to injure/kill someone. I admit I don't know if the extensive warning signs would make a difference, and if the "I was worried about bears" argument doesn't hold water the owner could argue they were trying to deter the trespasser from entering, not expecting them to do so and get injured. The case I mentioned has a few key differences: no warnings of any kind plus a clear booby trap (a shotgun rigged to go off when someone opened a closet door) that has no legitimate purpose other than to create a hazard. @@kranberry3318 Yes. I've dealt with numerous suicide attempts, 2 dead bodies, a hostage situation, and a pair of assaults that left a heck of an injury, one on me, and another on an inmate. To make it worse, I have a genetic defect that makes the smell of citrus and blood be received as a taste, so every time I've had to deal with bleeding inmates or a suicide/self destructive manipulation I could taste the blood, both when dealing with the injured, as well as when packing property. Then you have the sheer emotional trauma you experience. One of the things I can't keep out of my head is an alcoholic who doesn't trust himself to be free. He says guilt will make him drink, and he'll end up drunk driving again. Guy relived his life all day everyday, up till the point his bad decisions left a car load of teens dead. It's just a shame it's taught to a lot of people that ways trauma can present in people's behaviour and body language is supposedly 'suspicious'. Depends on the size of the team and the work. Once you get past ten or so people in the team, it's entirely possible the manager is busy full time just keeping the crap away from his team. If he's managing a site (e.g. a shop), that point can be reached earlier. A good manager will be there, but he'll be usually not working but deal with all the problems that turn up, arranging for enough inventory to be there, making schedules, etc. If you try to use the manager as another worker, you're either very small or understaffed or both.

Also, I said usually - it's possible he saw the need and decided that there was a need and nobody available to do it so he did it himself. I also think he was a rather good manager - not ordering people to do stuff he was not willing to do himself and helping out to keep the store running smoothly. The number I was quoting also was for an office job, e.g. software development. If you have a dedicated team manager, he might start to get swamped once you move past about 15 people and the quality might drop unless most people on the team are fairly self-managing (or he forms sub-teams).

As a former warehouse manager, I loved the forklift story! We often had to tell certain entitled employees to stop parking their cars in front of the shipping containers (in very clearly marked 'no parking' zones) where we kept 'overflow' materials that were used in emergency situations, but had to still be checked every once in a while. SO many times we wanted to use the forklifts to lift the cars up on top of the containers, or even inside them and lock the doors.

It's possible the OP wasn't in the USA. It's also possible the police were just lazy. On this side of the world, towing someone else's vehicle even if it's on your own private property can get you charges for theft. There are ways around that, but they're very specific and will cost *you* money rather than the owner of the vehicle, unless you take civil action against them in court and win.

Had a similar situation to that last story. Helped my sister's boss movie stuff from his apartment to a U-Haul. Dude lived on the 3rd or 4th floor with only stairs outside to get to them. It was 90°+ in the summer afternoon. After moving nearly all the stuff out i was shaking and my knees was buckling. Then bro guy said "lets novie my dresser in my bedroom". I went into the master bedroom and saws it. The dresser was. About 6ft tall and 4ft wide of 100% solid oak wood in the form of a dresser. Even with all the drawers out that thing was too much for me. I told dude im spent and can't move it even after taking a sit for a minute and drinking some water. He told me to just movie some more of the smaller boxes while they try to figure out how to move the dresser. On one of my last trips down i almost fell on the last step and i dropped one of the boxes. When the box fell i heard the sound of a lot and i mean A LOT of shattering glass. I was freaked for a second but because it was only me out there. So i just put it in the U-Haul. I was going to tell them till bro guy wanted to try and attempt to move the dresser again. I refused and the guy gave me $20 and said he'll take ne back to my sister's house. Now that box of glass shattered sounded more like sweet SWEET music

I worked security at a hotel that had a bar that was busy on the weekends. A correction officer regularly caused problems at the bar. One night the bar manager tried to kick him out and the correction office punched giving him a black eye. Every time the police were called he'd flash his badge and the cops would let him go. The first night I worked the weekend I encountered the correction office and he put hands on me. I informed him if he touched me again he'd regret it. When he tried to grab my shirt I grabbed hes wrist and put him in an arm lock. I instructed the bar manager to contact the Highway Patrol and explain the lack of help from local police. Highway Patrol arrived, heard our side and then charged the officer with disorderly conduct. He wasn't arrested but it was enough for a no trespass order. I never saw him again.

Story 3 reminds me of a thing my father, brother, and I did once. A person attending an annoying party down the street from our house parked across our driveway so we couldn't get out. We asked at the party for someone to move it but nobody wanted to claim it as their car. So we called the cops and were told that they wouldn't do anything about it, and if we wanted it towed it would have to be at our expense because the car was on private property. The cop told us that if the car was on public property, say blocking the road, then they could give it a ticket and have it towed at the owners expense. So we grabbed the large floor jack from the garage and proceeded to lift the car from one end then the other and move it until it was out of the way and completely blocking the road. Dad then left to do what he had to do, but I stayed home. The cops arrived 10 minutes later, asked around the party for the owner (getting the same response we did) ticketed the car, and had it towed.

So, several years ago, I'm living in a rural area with an ordinance against non running vehicles. Well, my gf at the time bought a 60's model bug (I assume) got it registered, the whole kit and kaboodle. Several weeks later, a sheriff's deputy sees me on the property, walks up, and hands me a violation. Now, mind you, we had the car tarped, but the tarp blew away in a rather unexpected strong gust of wind, strong enough to carry the tarp to the next town over just the day before. I do what I'm supposed to and show up, enter a plea of not guilty. Judge: your reason for being not guilty? It's on your property. Me: Your honor, it's simple, the vehicle is not mine, it's my gf's. If I read the ordinance properly, it implies the ticket is to be given to the vehicle owner. The judge, before dismissing, calls the deputy and tells him he has 5 minutes to show in court or a warrant would be placed on him. The judge then proceeds to have this deputy put in cuffs and sent to jail for contempt of court, as this was his third time simply assuming a ticket he wrote was valid, despite being instructed to be more careful previously. I still respect and admire this judge for understanding that he actually could do something to ensure the officers around him were serving respectfully and not forcefully.

I often came home to find someone put gum in my hair at school and I would cry as mom meticulously combed it out because no way was she cutting my hair. It can me done but it sucks. So to remedy my problems a pony tail braid. A side braid or pony tail or double pony/pig tails also work. If you have nothing to tie it use your own hair it doesn't hold very well depending on texture mine is very stright so It'd eventually be loose or undone but just do it again. It's not hard.

Several of them, he was made a manager after maybe a week, or two after getting hired and he ran that place like he was a tyrant. He wasn’t a good manager at all when it came to hygiene. I remember when I was around 11, he was working at an old sandwich place and I was sick from school. What’s the best thing to do when you have no one at home to watch your sick child? Don’t hire a babysitter, just bring them into the restaurant and have them sit in the back room the whole shift! I was puking every two-three hours and would walk out sometimes looking either for him, or for the staff to get a drink for me. I felt bad for them cause I remember some of the employees from the next few places he worked at were very nice and we would get along great with them.

Trespassers knocking down the no trespassing sign so they can then later claim they never saw it is a common occurrence. And in the same vein as that story I've heard mention of people that will set animal traps below the no trespassing sign... So when people walk up to the sign to rip the sign off the tree they step right into the trap. I know lots of states don't require you to have a hunting license to set traps on your own property and you don't even need to wait until a certain time of year... And you don't even need to label and mark them so people know where they are because they're on your own property. So long as you follow all the state and federal rules for setting traps on your own property then everything is on the trespasser for getting hurt by the traps. In my state you don't have to put up any signs or indication that the traps exist... You can even completely cover them with leaves to make them absolutely hidden. The lesson is to respect people's property rights and don't trespass.
