So...did anyone else catch that Petunia wanted Lily to 'babysit' her son...while she had a ticket out of the country in her bag? Any bets she was skipping the country AND abandoning her child?
Yes! I guess she learned that from her mom! “Find some family and force them to babysit for an undisclosed amount of time and then go on a vacation to Europe!”
I have the son taken away from that little brat and tell her to her face as she is in jail for animal abuse that I wish I never donated a sperm to have her brought into this world. and do not come to our house again and I will make sure you never see your son again
If you didn't have any agreement, just wtf!?! Where I work we also have that kind of program. The reason why they gave a bonus, it's to encourage us to refer people. It's not to encourage people to submit their resume.
Petunia is a psychopath, literally. The logic of "get rid of the cats to free up time to babysit" is literally psychopathic thinking. The sudden escalation to multiple charges and jailtime is not surprising in the least.
It's still very much taboo when a girl/woman does very big nono stuff. From physical abuse on their husband, stalking to touching k!ds. It even sometimes gets laughed away.
Story 4: Sandra needs to realize that her opportunity to bring up that her child is a picky eater was when OP asked about diet restrictions and such. She shouldn't get mad at all at OP for anything that night
Petunia would be a good candidate for PETA. No joke. They petnsp animals from homes, even going out of their way to lure them out of the yard or door to take them to their 'shelter' where more often than not, they are put down.
Cat owner here. The cat story gave me anxiety until I heard that the cats were ok and returned unharmed. If someone did that to my cats I honestly don’t know what I would do
Thank you for saying that the cats were returned. That's what I wanted to know before watching as I don't want to be left with lots of John Wick energy.
Story number 4: Sandra is such an entitled parent. She had the kid and she's teaching her daughter to throw a tantrum when she doesn't get her way. She has absolutely no respect for boundaries, zero comprehension of the word no being a complete sentence and no accountability that there are consequences as well as reprisals for her atrocious behavior. What's worse, she's teaching her daughter to be just like her. It's almost a guarantee, Sandra is depicting OP as a mean adult to her daughter (along with bad mouthing him to anyone who will listen) thus negatively reinforcing her daughter's bad behavior. The fact that she's NINE YEARS OLD and is behaving like a spoiled toddler who doesn't know how to regulate her emotions yet, just reeks of bad parenting. Sandra turning a deaf ear and a blind eye to abominable behavior, and coddling Charlie whenever she flips out, will only lead to further problems as she gets older. I wonder what she will tell the judge when her daughter ends up in court after being arrested for the first time. Mark my words: Charlie will cross the wrong person one day and, hopefully, it knocks some sense into her. Otherwise, I don't see her going anywhere in life.
We have a couple of very simple rules when it comes to food for our kid. 1: If you don't like it, you don't have to eat it, but you're not getting anything else. This applies everywhere. 2: If you don't eat the dinner, you don't get dessert. (Not applicable at birthday parties if you decline the dinner) 3: if make your own plate or ask for food, you HAVE to eat all of it. He's 8 now, and eats what is made for dinner 99% of the time. If he doesn't eat it, there is no drama, he just gets to stay hungry 'til breakfast the next morning.
@@christianzank4255 Exactly how my parents were. They raised three boys. I've worked in customer service for years and I cannot stand these entitled parents who are usually buried in their phones while dismissively declaring that their spoiled after births are “picky eaters.” The last thing I want to deal with when I have an eight table section full of guests that just went down all at the same time is an entitled parent who lets their entitled crotch fruit run the show.
Two words: John Wick ETA - that story blows my mind. Not only did she have a baby daddy that clearly would have taken the kid, she had plenty of money for a ticket to Italy so one assumes she could have hired a babysitter. So just… why???
I'm guessing she actually intended to abandon the child with her family but wanted wiggle room in case she changed her mind and if the dad got the kid she'd never see them again. Edit: Personal experience. My cousin pulled that on us so she could do and sell meth. Got caught, went to prison.
She said why, to "enjoy her youth." Translation: "I should not have become a parent, I want this kid to be someone else's problem" DO NOT CASUALLY HAVE CHILDREN
Story 5: All sympathy (if there was any left) was thrown out the window once Petunia decided that getting rid of the cats (and therefore spiraling OP's sister) was the proper response to nobody wanting to babysit. Now Petunia is about to face a possible lawsuit (loss of money), a truckload of charges (prison time), and vaporized bridges (restraining order)
I just don’t know the legal status between the father and Petunia. Yes, he is a sperm donor but wasn’t there legal documentation as to his non status to her life? Petunia’s mother and stepfather are the ones responsible for her, not OP’s family.
I was going to say she's a narcissist, but I think she's a sociopath. To do that because she didn't get her way, not just violate boundaries, refuse to accept the word no as a complete sentence but have no accountability for her actions that there are reprisals as well as consequences, looks like she's about to face some criminal charges and she won't have to worry about her child anymore: because going to foster care or some other legal guardian will be far better than subjecting that innocent life to being raised by a toxic egg donor like Petunia. My God.
@@michaeltelson9798 Yes. A sperm donor who directly requests to not be involved in the child's future upbringing is not required to do anything for the child. Technically it is the same as giving a child up for adoption. Basically his legal status in relation to Petunia is * drumroll * nothing at all. Not even "natural father" as per multiple laws for safeguarding, which btw. are often fought over from dads wanting to meet their kid. A sperm donor is almost always anonymous and left in the dark whether his sample even has been used or still is frozen after 20 years ... Legally he was not required to allow Petunia to spend the summer with them. He was not even required to meet at the cafe. Dad was friendly and did so regardless because the child was a ...well ... favor for his friend that died shortly after her birth. And because he had no prior knowledge of her ... education and upbringing.
if anyone ever did something like that to any pets I'd own, I'd do literally anything to make sure they would never feel any sense of joy or peace in their life ever again.
Story 4 actually had an update. Apparently Sandra's mom had just been admitted to the hospital that day and they'd driven straight from the hospital to OP's house. Apparently the kid being upset wasn't really about the food but more because she was upset about her grandma. For whatever reason they hadn't wanted to tell OP about the situation so they could focus on the dinner.
@@marjoriejohnston4905 I think the kid was a ticking time bomb of sad and the food was a catalyst that set off a disproportionate reaction. The thing that made her cry was the food, but the reason she was so ready to cry over a small issue was the family problems.
The kid is not the problem, it is the mother’s entitled and disrespectful behavior that is the issue. Who tf demands people to cook second meals because their kid doesn’t like what is being served? Go to a McDonald’s or something, this isn’t your private restaurant, Karen!
I'm SO glad that big brother could save the day!!!! He gets a hero cake for that! I'm also glad that the baby is safe. SO glad that there's going to be jail time for these low lifes!
The penalties for animal cruelty are never harsh enough. People used to get ridiculous jail time for possession of a little weed, while animal abusers get a slap on the wrist if anything.
I really hope that the courts force that family to be sterilized. The world doesn’t need any more of that family. Hopefully petunia’s son grows up to be a much better person. And I also hope that his new family tells him exactly what his mother and grandparents did so he doesn’t agree to meet with them in the future. He deserves a life free of them
I remember one of my first experiences in the mental health field was parents dropping off their kid to be hospitalized for suicide. I was teamed up with someone and when my team mate asked "do you want to commit suicide, hurt yourself, or die" the kid was really confused. This was at a police station and after investigation it turned out the parents wanted to go on vacation to Mexico and was trying put their 4 year old kid into a state psychiatric hospital so they could have fun. The grandparents got the kid and both parents were arrested. I don't know what happened beyond this. It was a wild first experience in mental health. This was about 20 years ago and almost as wild as getting chased around by a drug addict convinced I was the spawn of satan and bigfoot. I mean who sticks their child in a state psychiatric hospital at 4?
Easy answer. People who try to stick their kids into mental ward to have nice vacation are the ones who actually need psych evaluation possibly followed by time out of society.
@@kranberry3318 these probably weren't planned / wanted kids and abortion is still illegal / frowned upon in many parts of the world. Such parents try to pawn off their kids onto whomever they can, and when they have multiple kids, the oldest gets forced to be the primary caretaker, babysit younger siblings, feed them, wash them, check their homework and so on. Or maybe I just overdosed on reddit stories and it's the influence of supernanny episode from few years ago with the Chapman family, I saw a snippet while swiping shorts and then whole episode, and I'm appalled.
Couch vs bed story: I wonder how much longer it would have taken before she tried to kick OP out of his own place and move her bf in? Kid doesn't like food story: NTA! OP, you asked about allergies, mom said there were none. She didn't offer up what her kid's favorite meals were so you made a best guestimate. But at the point she starts demanding you make a second meal, it wouldn't have taken long to start demanding some prized possession instead, as well as money to buy food on the way home. Good riddance! The husband is a non-entity in his home and marriage. Now you know. Petunia story: Several mistakes were made here, the biggest one not calling the police to report child abandonment when she was dropped off the first time. At this point they need to file a restraining order against Petunia now. UPDATE: Just WOW! From the sounds of it these people are getting some long overdue just desserts!
Story 3: Anyone would've just taken the offer. Like, $24/hr with a number of benefits and flexible hours? That's a freaking DREAM! But of course, the brat had to be a ChoosingBeggar and feel that this above-average rate was too low for her. I hope she realizes how big of a loss this was
On site clinic plus you can bring your kids after they let out of school??? Man, hanging out with my dad at work are some of the BEST memories that I have from my childhood! Where are you and do you have part time positions??
Regarding Story 5: Ngl....if someone took my baby kitty to be put down over something like that, she would have to pray that the cops would get to her first before I put her down! 😾
Story Number 5: Petunia disgusts me with her entitled behavior. Honestly, is it really so hard to find a damn babysitter instead of foisting your kid to family?
In regards to story 5, broken heart syndrome is no joke! It really is a case of emotional grief so strong it causes the heart to struggle. My grandma suffered from it too once. I wonder if that affected the charges on Petunia, considering how dangerous it is.
Condo Story: In addition to ending the Friendship, if I were OP, I'd also be Suing him for the cost of cleaning the Condo and replacing/Repairing everything he damaged or destroyed...
the story about the little kid, Charley, crying over dinner.... there is an update to that story I read, which had nothing to do with the meal. The wife on the way over to have dinner, had gotten a call that her mother was taken to the hospital and they didn't know it she would live. The wife told her husband not to tell OP so as not to ruin dinner. The kid was crying, because she was a kid worried about grandma and that was just how it came out. The husband and OP talked a few days later and straightened it all out.
I suspect it will take a while longer to "straighten out" Sandra's behavior. I get that people react to stress differently, but since you don't report that she was involved in that reconciliation, I have my doubts.
...My biggest question for story 4 is if Charlie knew what they like and don't like to eat and so does their mom Sandra... Why didn't Sandra say anything? You can't pretend to be not fussy and then demand more than someone can do.
There was an update. Charlie was actually upset about grandma being in the hospital, not the food at all. She just acted out. Don't know why mom joined in, though.
@@lauraelliott6909 well, but we saw how Sandra handles her kid... overly accommodating and doesn't teach her manners. It isn't even logical that she expected OP to apologize for not cooking a second meal.
🤬🤬🤬 Totally agree with you, Fluff.. The OP in the story with the 9 years old.. Hell NO OP is NOT the A-hole! I'd have made Sandra & Charli leave and Mike could've stayed.. lmao
My nieces were hard to feed, but my sister would make sure that if all else fails that she would bring food for them. My vegan cousin will bring her own food with her. Why is that hard for some to figure it out.
My whole thing was she specifically asked if there was any food issues. That included likes/dislikes, allergies, etc... and the mom assured her there was nothing. That was ALL on the mom for not being truthful!!
@@TheSjuris 👏👏💞👏👏 AMEN!! My sons would've NEVER been allowed to act that way! Especially at that age!! Seriously! And then, Sandra trying to make OP APOLOGISE?? OH HELL NO!!
@@aphelion4616 👏👏💞👏👏 Yes!! Absolutely agree!! This story literally pissed me off so bad! Like, for an "adult" to not only act like SHE did.. but allowing her NINE years old kid to act that way?? Hell no!! My sons who have got their butt's busted for acting that way!! Especially since we were GUESTS in OP's home!!
For the story with the cats and the heart condition: 1. What kind of monster would do that to those poor cats? 2. If you DID do that to someone's pets, how could you trust them to watch your children? OP doesn't sound like a monster, but still. 3. Broken heart syndrome is 100% a real condition. It's not super common, and is most commonly seen in elderly people after losing a spouse. But can occur in anyone who has suffered intense heartbreak/stress. It involves one of your heartstrings suffering some damage. It's a sad but kinda romantic thing, if that makes any sense.
She went to the Humane Society to euthanize the cats that OP sister needed and loved🤬 Thank God for that brother press charges go after her and tell everyone what a horrible person. She is seriously when it comes to animals I don’t play fair.
WtF I was making excuses in my head for petunia giving her the benefit of the doubt until I heard about trying to put the cats down that is outrageous what a POS
S5: Wow. Petunia is just _awful._ You don't mess with people's pets. Ever. On which note, if someone even _looks_ at my cat funny, we will be having words. _Nobody_ messes with my baby girl.
For the title story. Yeah if someone did that to my cats. They wouldn't be in jail I would. No one messes with my children without quickly learning how bad a decision it was.
Story 5: Wow. Poor Lily. BHS is incredibly rare, even considered a medical myth on tumblr because of how rare it is. For Lily to experience such severe anxiety/panic that it would put enough stress on her ‘heart strings’ to nearly cause a full-on heart attack, is very, very crazy. Even though Petunia is HORRIBLY wrong and a completely vile excuse of a human being for kid(cat)naping cats that are very obviously not hers and taking them to be put down, I just can’t help but feel terrible for Lily. As someone with severe anxiety/panic disorder, I’ve been worked up into such a state where I’ve had to go to the hospital, or even felt like my chest would shatter, but BHS has never even been on my radar because of just how rare it is. It really makes me wonder what her treatment regimen is for her anxiety, how was it that she was able to get so worked up that her heart would literally almost break? Sounds like the poor girl needs a reevaluation with her doctors because if she’s on any medication, it clearly did not help. Hope she’s alright
Story 5 - I'm glad Petunia got arrested. I think what she did was rotten, and I don't even like cats! Story 6 - I'd have told that idiot, "Okay, I'll give you half the bonus in exchange for one-third of your salary for the next two years. After all, you wouldn't have that job if it weren't for my referral."
S4: Even considering the update (Sandra's mum is in hospital), the behavior of these people was just inappropriate, uncalled for, and entitled. If you're so upset that you can't even sit through a meal, just make other arrangements and do the meal another time. Sandra had no right to demand an apology from the person she (and Charlie) offended, and definitely no right to demand OP fix a whole different meal for her kid.
"Just give it to him to calm him down!" And this, folks, is how entitled people BECOME entitled, in the first place, and remain entitled for as long as they do.
Story#5 So dad out of the goodness of his heart makes a donation so his friend can have a child. And this is what he got in return.. I think this is living proof that old saying no good deed goes unpunished
And he created an effing monster. His stupid friend did the world no favors. Hopefully a fellow inmate will fix things by performing a super-late 'abortion'.
I read story nr. 4 about Charlie a little while back and it had OP give updates in the comment. OP has talked with Mike a little while after, who told OP they found out one of Sandra's parents (Charlie's grandparent) was dying/had died, that morning. Charlie was upset about that and didn't feel like eating and to pretend all was good, as she was very upset. She even does like chocolate. Sandra apologised for her behaviour as well, since she too was under a lot of stress. Again, OP was NTA. But we need to cut Charlie and her mom some slack.
Story 4: NTA! OP asked *in advance* for advice planning the menu, and "Sandra" was absolutely no help. While OP's reaction might have been intemperate, it was 100% justified. If Sandra wanted a short order cook, she should have taken her family to a restaurant.
1st story It just goes to show no matter how long you know someone, you still have to draw up contracts with even friends when helping them out, to avoid being screwed over. Long gone are the days when a handshake & you word should be enough between friends.
Patonia is a product of her parents and I bet they act just as entitled as their spoiled daughter... Shaking My Head like I am Tweeking to that one jajajajajajajajaja 🤣
Story 6: Because of how that referral program works, not the ahole. However, many job referral places do give the bonus both to the new hire and the person who referred
Story 5: Petunia? More like Reflessia; stinky and a parasite. The last story made me do the math equation meme. If op chose not to give him the half of the benefit then it was his choice. Heck, the friend can suggest some friends for the company and get the benefit himself.
I can easily see the girl refusing to eat, it happened to my family. When my Mom's best friend would come over, her daughter (about that age) would refuse to eat anything served, including kid friendly foods like hamburgers or hot dogs. Her Mom would get a plate, spread peanut butter on it and cover it in maple syrup. This was the only thing the girl would eat!
My cousin did this to my Uncle. He told her that he couldn't move back to California with her because of the dogs. Oddly both dogs got sick and died of poisoning (the vet said). My cousin is nuts!
All Sandra had to do was say her daughter was a picky eater and tell her what she would eat. Outside of that, being a picky eater myself, if I'm going somewhere, I always eat something before going, not a lot, so I can still enjoy the food, but enough to where I won't get hangry if they're not serving anything I like. I'll be the first to admit that even I don't like to be around me when I get hungry. It's not other people's job to cater to me, so I make sure to prepare for a situation where I don't go hungry, and nobody comes out of it looking or feeling like an ass.
Story 4 Fluff - "9 years old is a little too old for that type of behavior, right?" Me - If she was younger, l could understand. And what girl doesn't like chocolate cake?
@@meh2510 my daughter doesn't like chocolate. She'll eat it, if that's the only option, but it ranks somewhere near vegetables for her. It was nice for us when she was little, as she was happy for us to celebrate with other desserts, like fruit tarts.
Hey Fluff, these were some great yet infuriating stories I've seen on your channel, which is my favorite channel in the Karen genre. The second story made me laugh the hardest. It reminded me of what my father used to say. He'd say," Some people want a job that pays 50$ /hrs. working from 11 am-12 pm with an hour off for lunch. The second story about the family dinner was crazy too. Op did exactly what I would have done. That mom should have been asked to leave and bring her spoiled brat with her. She's raising a future, Karen. The last story made me furious. Petunia needs a very long jail term.
Karen’s don’t just happen, they are created by their parents, and it seems to me that (in story 4) Sandra is creating a karen by encouraging and enabling entitled tantrums in her daughter. People, you create the adult your children will become, indulging them at every turn is not helping them, and in the long term, hurts them as people. As a parent there are times you have to say “No !”, and stick with it.
The kid may have genuine sensory issues with food, so we shouldn't automatically assume she was just throwing a tantrum. It was the parents' fault for not making clear their child will only eat certain things.
Story 3: Frankly, If I were sister's mom and heard she had turned down a job by demanding such terms, at that point there would be no further "lending" of another cent, and I would make sure it would be me who purchased things for the kids directly, not give money to her to do so. When you are unemployed and living under someone else's roof, you are obligated to take any legal form of income you can get!
Story 4: If I were OP, I would have replied "I asked you if there were any allergies, dislikes, etc and you told me 'No'. If you had told me that your child didn't like chocolate, I would have made something else. YOU are the one who needs to apologize to Charly."
...Idk for sure, i don't have any legal expertise, but I feel like that first guy could probably take his former friend to court for the rent, housekeeping bill, and damage to the property. "Because now Lily can babysit without worrying about those cats :)" it's the smiley face for me.... hard. Yikes.
Stroy 5: I'm sorry but it still amazes me how few people don't know what Broken Heart Syndrome is or how bad. If it can end a healthy 1500 pound horse then think how close Lily was. Petunias long criminal recored should also include attempted manslaughter
Story 5: talk about nuking all your bridges with potential extended family in one go. Also don't mess with a cat lady's cats. Also I've heard of broken heart syndrome, I think it's where something in your heart literally snaps and becomes unfixable causing the heart to be permanently deformed. I'd imagine it can cause a lot of issues like increased risk of heart attacks.
Story 4: there was an update Fluff Sandra's mom (Charlie's gma) had died recently and they either came straight from the funeral or the hospital. That's why the two of them were so upset. The husband explained the situation and OP understood
My sister threaten to kill my cats because they were always in her way while she was living at my house with my son and me. I turned against her to the point that it only took me to tell her kids to put their stuff away or I will start putting it in the trash for her to move out. I messaged her a month later to see if she could assist with rent that she didn't pay for the 2 years she lived there and she said oh we don't have it sorry. I stopped speaking to her and her daughter ( who was my son's godmother) after they called CPS on me. Threaten my cats, get the cold shoulder, threaten to take my child, get disowned and forgotten. The entire family except for her brother and her aunt, speaks to her now. Not even her grandfather speaks to her after how her children treated him when he was trying to help with food and she snapped at him for bothering her.
In the parents shoes, I would have gotten beaten for snobbily refusing food for dinner at someone's home during hospitality. My father and mother at that age would have tag teamed on me in front of the hospitable home. That would have been a nasty night for me
I have a cousin that has a spoiled daughter that was like Charlie (liked shredded Parmesan, not grated, wanted this, not that.). Her parents gave in to her every whim (divorced and the girl is their only child. A friend of mine witnessed her bad behavior, a stranger to them, and was shocked). Guess what? At age 18, she was arrested for something and put on parole with some guidelines (community service and she was supposed to attend classes for maturity. Guess what she hasn’t done? And guess what she’s not back in jail for because she had a child? She’s also not supposed to be with the bio dad because he’s violently abusive to her and has threatened her and their son’s life. The court has ordered that her son will be taken away from her if she takes the bio dad back. People are still trying to figure out how to notify the courts, because, guess who’s back with the bio dad). Charlie will probably turn out the same way as my cousin’s daughter.
I think that, had they called the police that first time, to report child abandonment, and MADE IT CLEAR that they would NOT have ANYTHING to do with Petunia, as originally agreed, then Petunia couldn't have nearly KILLED Lily. People can and HAVE died from broken hearts. It's a real thing. If she hadn't been rushed to the hospital, and given the necessary treatment, she WOULD HAVE DIED. And Petunia's not even sorry. And was that ticket to Italy a ONE WAY ticket? Was she planning to dump her baby FOREVER? Or did she plan to come back in ten years, when the statute of limitations wore off for all her other crimes, and then claim HER CHILD (once the baby was past the hardest stagge), and say she was a TRUE and GOOD MOTHER?! It's happened before. I'm so glad that OP's family got the police and the legal system involved. Those people need to be STOPPED.
Story 5, NTA. Petunia is definitely beyond disgusting and psycho for trying to kill op's sister's cats just to try to punish and force her to babysit. Even says that everyone is selfish for not wanting to babysit for her. Update, petunia doesn't even realize how badly she hurt op's sister with what she did. Good on the dad for reporting her and I'm pretty sure petunia was planning on running away given by the ticket after hearing what happened and that she's in trouble. Wow, she thought she was smart by signing op's sister's name but all she did was screw herself over. Smart to get a restraining order since she was apparently happy to kill innocent animals who knows what else she will do. Of course the so called parents that are at fault for raising that monster are mad and are threatening to sue like it's op's families fault that petunia is in trouble. Yeah, pretty sure every attorney refused them after reviewing the whole story. Why am I not surprised that now the parents are facing jail time. Of course they think they can bribe to get her out of jail then try to bribe op's family then threaten them. Oh, petunia and her parents are seen as fit guardians, shocker, not.
