Story 5: "If, as you claim, rudeness isn't tolerated in 'your' store, then why is that Karen still here? She's been harassing me for the last 15 minutes, and scurried away to find you when I told her to leave me, *another customer* , alone!"
I worked for target for 20 years at store level. Managers really are that inept. If you are a manager there, they treat ALL regular employees like we are all poor and they are too good to be seen next to us. The divide there really is that bad, i really do wish i was joking.
@@GHOSTMAN262 I worked at Target too, and didn't even make it past my 90-day probation because they were so anal about compliance. I accidentally went past the first time because I clocked in a few minutes early, and went over the second time because a manager LIED that he'd vouch for me when I stayed late to bale cardboard on his direct order. If that store burns to the ground I will dance on the ashes.
Let's hope, when that Manager went home that day, they did EVERYTHING they could possibly think of to avoid getting pulled over and jumped at EVERYTHING that REMOTELY looked like a Squad Car because they were fearful of getting "retaliation"...
@@aqacefan I wish your experience surprised me. I did find out that the store manager by me got fired for bullying employees. I actually had to sit in the seasonal yard chairs for a sec because it was a sentence I never thought I'd hear.
If I got fired from a place I don’t work at I’d probably just say “do I still get my severance pay?” If I’m getting fired I at least want my last paycheck.
Story #3: When the 40yo son grabbed and took his Hospital Lanyard with his ID away, OP should have shouted: "Someone call the cops, I've just became the Victim of an Assault and Strong Arm Robbery!!!" As loud as he could!!!!!!!!
NO JUST YELL *I'M BEING RAPED! RAPE! RAPE! I'M BEING RAPED!* I have an EXTREMELY loud alarm on my phone that I can reach in seconds and when I tell you it's loud I mean it's loud. You can hear it from space. And that mixed with my screaming will make your ears bleed.
Bit hard to do that when you're about to sneeze, best to do it afterwards. Also, he's clearly a Mama's Boy if his first reaction to you not helping her is to get up in your face.
"Are you telling me how to raise my kid?" "If you're stupid enough to encourage him to play with knives then yes, I am telling you how to raise your kid. Somebody has to, because you're an idiot."
It's funny how the manager says rudeness will not be tolerated. Then when it becomes obvious that this person did not work for them they didn't even apologize for their own rudeness. On top of that I want to know, if rudeness isn't tolerated did the manager get fired?
If they didn't get fired, then, at the very least, they embarrassed themselves further by asking a Cop at a Traffic Stop "This is because of what I did to your buddy, right?" leaving the other Officer like "WTF are you talking about?!"
Never, ever, ever, touch someone without consent, it's the #1 rule of life. I swear, if I was that guy, I would've told a Dobby on that tour guide, and gone "You gave me clothes!? I'M FREE! I'M FREE!" while throwing her jacket in the air and running out the door.
Yeah, I had a very bad sunburn over the weekend and some dude slapped me on the shoulder saying "good job" but if he'd been an inch lower he might have been on the ground
Knives are not toys. When my grandfather was a little boy, he asked his older sister if he could use a knife outside. She gave it to him, he stumbled and fell, and until the day he died, in his 70's, he had one eye (you can guess what happened to the other one). Not only did he stab himself in his eye, his sister, till the day SHE died in her 70's, felt guilt for it. No, knives are not toys...
The amount of people who think it's ok to grab an employee or hit people's stuff out of their hands is kind of sad. Like no, even if they were for some reason not doing their jobs, you don't have the right to grab them or destroy their property. Also how many times have people actually come across employees who refuse to do their jobs and refuse to even admit to being employees for that matter? This seems to be a sentiment that is pushed a lot with Karens but I can't understand where the idea even stems from. You would think a manager would at least know their store uniform past the basic color scheme.
Well you are forgetting he was wearing his chef coat from work. So he literally had the restaurant name on his shoulder, that's not illegal if he is wearing his uniform out in public. And he didn't give the location, he just pointed to the logo, unless there was only one location then she wouldn't know unless it was close by which it most likely was.
Story 3: I'm sure that man would've been charged with assault because he grabbed first. Also, if your solution is to send a relative of yours after someone, you're a coward.
My comment (that I've already posted) was that when the 40 year old son grabbed the Lanyard and the Hospital ID, OP should have shouted, as loud as he (or she) could: "Help!!! I've just been Assaulted and Strong Arm Robbed!!!!!!! Someone call the Police!!!!!!" And hopefully Store Security catches the "Witch" and her idiot son before they get away....

As I chef I can confirm that bringing your knives with you is essential to not have them stolen or ruined by other people, but also is considered an inventory of deadly weapons so better kept in a backpack rather than ‘open carry’ : especially in public areas (customer realm stupidity)
Honestly, if I ran into a chef like that, I'd have forgotten all about whatever I was going to buy and grilled him about the knives. Not buy buy them off of him but to find out where to buy really good knives and how to decide if they're actually good and not overpriced.
BUT you aren't a brain damaged Karen! I have one knife I cherish. It is a 8" (blade length) SHUN from Japan. Bought in 2008 for $ 100. You can see the waves formed by steel being heated, bent in half and hammered flat again and again. I haven't had to sharpen it even once! I do have other knives but this is a work of art! If you have read the Eragon books, you will see the same technique where an elf makes a sword for Eragon
Yes because if there is one thing people love, it's being accosted with work and job related questions while off the clock and jut trying to shop. Sure you might find a knife enthusiast perfectly happy to talk to you about knifes, prices, etc. You may also get blown off by an over worked, pissed off chief who just worked a 14 hour shift and just wants to get home already
In response to story 1’s comment by Fluff, I’m still surprised we haven’t heard a story where Karen gets shot, especially with how often they like to attack cops and assault people over the pettiest bullshit. There have been a few where Karen gets a gun drawn on her or tazed/pepper sprayed but none where they get blasted.
@@fluidwolf UH YOU KNOW WE'RE TALKING ABOUT *KARENS* RIGHT? *EVERYTHING* IS AN EXTREME SITUATION. ZERO TO "I'M GONNA KILL YOU" IN 0.0 SECONDS. CARRY AT ALL TIMES.
there is almost a certainty of such a thing happening, problem is the person who blasted the Karen is either probably in jail and not able to write the story, or is too traumatized to think of writing the story for our entertainment. As Confuscious say, better Karen live to suffer from own ignorance than blissfully enter endless void.
@@SLOTHSRIDEUNICORNS Now that's the behavior of a *Karen* right there! immediate, unreasonable, extreme and self-entitled. violence is only justified when all other options are exhausted, or when you have no other choice from the get go.
Probably cameras running in that pharmacy. Chad could have been in some trouble, especially when whatever lies he and his idiot mother decided to tell the cops didn't match the tape.
My favorite stories are the ones where the entitled person grabs a random stranger. And the random stranger immediately turns around and clocks them in the face without missing a beat. 🤣
The Karen who tried to steal the chef's knives and then give them to her young son is just terrible, what mother allows a small child to play with knives
I've seen that constantly at my work or when shopping I often carry my work too (gruber multitool) when shopping since I've either gotten off/going to work or are picking up stuff for work. What's odd is the number of people that think it's a weapon, can of mace/pepper spray, or the like. It's as they've never seen someone carrying one of these devices before On one occasion I was waiting as the store was making some keys for me and an actual employee came to the counter to get a package opened for a customer but didn't have pliers to do so. I quickly pulled out by multitool for the employee and the customer was shocked by how I opened them (flicking them open) I told her it was quite common as it helps get them ready to use easily
One thing my late Father taught me, there's nothing more dangerous than a dull knife. And what mother allows her spawn to play with knives? She's an idiot.
@@cliffcorson4000 Long ago I worked at one of the Tribal casinos in SoCal as a slot tech. Generally, weapons of any sort were forbidden on the gaming floor save for armed security. But most of us carried multitools of some sort. With a wink and a nod, just so long as nobody was threatened, we were able to freely carry them in their sheath.
Hey I had pocket knives when I was that age. And I never cut off my fingers. I fact I never cut myself. I also had my own guns at age 12. I never shot anyone either.
@@ronaldstaley277 my brother had pocket knives and cut himself so deep he nicked the tendon when he was 11. He’s a violinist I never saw him not careful with sharp things around his hands. One of my best friends (a high end chef) cut himself through the nail chopping. I use various blades at work all the time, and I’ve never cut myself even though I’m a generally unfocused uncoordinated person. Careful goes a long way, but they are still a dangerous tool, and definitely not something a person should hand over to a 6 year old they don’t know. The parent should be basing it on what they know of their child and starting off with knife use in a controlled, well supervised manner so the kid knows how to be safe, not allowing her child to treat professional grade/professionally maintained knives like a book of madlibs or a toy.
I love stories when people are not doormats and fight back with words, actions and sneezes. I love the flu story. Makes me think of Homer Simpson sneezing on the T-Rex.
Story 5: Darkfluff may have just started a viral problem of regular people "posing" as employees at stores just to aggravate a Karen. You're a sick man Fluff, lol
I could see that being the next big Tik Tok trend. Most of those I find stupid, but that one would probably actually be funny to watch. It'd definitely let you know which stores had the good vs bad manager...
I would not recommend impersonating a store employee. If you're doing it on purpose and not just being mistaken for an employee, then it can technically be illegal. While its mostly a fraud concern if you sell an item and keep the money, the store could potentially charge you with harassing their customers. If you're not concerned about potential legal consequences, then also keep in mind that once the entitled people get riled up, they may blow up at the actual employees/managers. That may be amusing for you, but it will make their shift suck that much more.
To be fair, all the big chains hire a lot of temps for the holiday season, mainly to stock and send all the regular employees to the registers. If the lady grabbed a manager from another nearby section they would have a low likelihood of knowing who works that department.
Guys? YES, IT IS ROMANTIC (or at least fantastically courteous!) TO BUY THE BRAND & TYPE OF PADS WE USE. (It shows you're paying attention to us & want to be helpful.) And you know what else? Even if we end up breaking up, you'll at least HAVE some supplies on hand, next time someone is visiting your home and abruptly needs some! (Like I said, a fantastic point of courtesy!)
Id just like to add to that story about the chef, those knives he had were likely sharp enough to slice paper like you see in videos. People who bring knives to their work, including myself, keep their knives sharp enough to essentially shave with. So giving a kid anything like that, is just insane.
I've heard a couple stories of kitchen staff stupid enough to touch another chef's knives. It's like diddling their children or wife, they will CUT a motherf*cker over it.
S1: File a complaint with her travel agency that the floozy ruined your phone and demand compensation of say $ 500 instead of the petty revenge of stamping on the coat and spitting on it. At the least she gets demoted. Best is if she gets fired. The coat belongs to the company and she can say she needs a replacement as some mad man ruined it!
Last story: He should have just gone with it, but just walk out instead of clock out. Then she'd end up wasting her time trying to find you in the system, and worse case scenario she punches out an actual employee and gets into some serious trouble with Corporate when it's appealed. These places take time extremely seriously, because falsifying times can lead to some gigantic fines.
I had a boss once upon a time that I didn't like because I knew of his illegal gambling habits. However, one night, I hung up on a very rude customer, and the very next time that same person called (about 2 minutes later) and started cussing and calling me names., That boss took the phone from me. He told the liar that he was looking at the order he had given maybe 2 minutes ago, so there was zero chance he had been waiting an hour for a pizza, then told him he was banned and never to speak to his employees like that again or the police would be called. I still didn't like that boss, but I did gain a little respect for an employer who would stand up for his employees. I ended up NOT turning him in for the illegal gambling, and lost the little evidence I had. I mean, I really did lose it, but then didn't search for it or try to gather new stuff. I quit caring he bet on basketball via some other country where it was legal, and preferred having a boss out there for someone else who wouldn't let his employees be abused by anyone. I went to work for someone else a very short time later so I couldn't gather new evidence he illegally gambled. Most bosses don't stand up to to customers for minimum wage employees like that.
My brother was a professional chef and as soon as the Karen said to O.P. "I'll buy them off you" and offered O.P. $50, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. O.P.'s knife roll could easily be worth a couple grand depending on what they have in there and a chef's knives are some of their most important and personal tools (they aren't always so easily replaced). Not to mention, professional chefs knives are insanely sharp, like if you drop a hair on the edge of a perfectly honed knife the weight of the hair will cut it in half (at least my brother's could) they are not toys.
Tbh, you can get any blade that sharp, even a hardwood or plastic blade, the difference between a dumpster steel and a top end quality steel blade is in how well it can retain that sharp edge and how many times it can be re-sharpened. Professional craftsmen and artisans like your brother has learned the difference and doesn't waste money on tools they would need to replace so often that it adds up more than to buy quality from the start unless they have a specific reason to buy expendable tools.
$ 500 for a single knife if not more, and the knives are so sharp that with barely any pressure they can cut into the bone of your finger, apply a little pressure and finger can come off.
Over Memorial Weekend this year, I stopped at Target. I was wearing a red tank top, black Capri sweatpants and flip flops. A woman thought I worked there. Other customers told her to leave me alone like I did. She got the manager who followed her around the store looking for a worker who was rude to her(me), when he saw me his face dropped and he turned to this idiot and told her I was a customer like her, and told her For Christ sakes she's wearing a tank top and sweatpants and how in the hell did she confuse me as a worker there and to stop harrassing me. I bought my stuff as she was screaming and raising all sorts of hell with the manager.

I wonder if the cashier and security guy were cracking up that hard is because the manager is a bit full of her own self-importance and throws her weight around a lot, like switching shifts/deliveries on whim and claims to have 'told you' this was happening. "Do you even know who works for you?" set the pair off so much that I kinda think there's a looooot of backstory behind those guffaws 😄
I've made the mistake of wearing red shirts to Target several times. And yes, people ask questions assuming I worked there, but luckily they believed me when I said that I don't work there!
S3: There is a Reddit story of a Karen who when told no, sticks her fingers in her throat and starts serial vomiting all over the restaurant. If the staff had any guts, they would have silently gone behind her and rubbed her face in her mess, pretending to help. It's a good tactic to use on a Karen who gets in your face. "You WILL obey me, you loser". "Yes, ma'am!" Lean forward and spew!
If the restaurant staff had me as a boss, I would have wanted them to have tripped the attack puking karen up and made a citizens arrest, then have the police take over and press charges for assault, battery, public endangerment through food contamination and attempted cause of bodily harm through poisoning... Get the Health and food safety inspectors to throw the book at her and then I'd sue in civil court for the cost of hazmat decontamination of the whole restaurant including replacing every single object of fabric or other porous material as well as the loss of income to the restaurant and my employees (including estimated tips) for the time the restaurant had to be closed and legal fees... I'd also try to arrange with my lawyers to offer the actual customers who's night she ruined to add their own lawsuits against her at a discount on my expense if they wanted to... Have fun paying your debts as an indentured servant of the state, Karen...
I expected him to throw the coat on her head. In all honesty I would’ve yelled for security as soon as she slapped my phone out of my hand. Heaven help her if there was the least bit scratch on it, I would have her buy a new one
Having worked at a Target I can confirm that the managers are mostly clueless about who's working there simply because they have such a ridiculously high employee turn-around rate.
Story 4: I've had people bribe me at work before. My jaw dropped when EM offered only $50 to a professional chef with a professional set of knives! I only know they cost about as much as my college tuition since I look into decorative swords that I only wish I could buy!
A nurse tried to pull my mask off and I went in to fight mode. I yelled for her to back off and pushed her away. I have a history that an incident like that just triggers in the flash of an instant. I apologized immediately afterwards because I recognized she was only trying to help. But, the other nurses knew she'd messed up. You don't know what people have been through.
In Target, I would have taken the red shirt off right there in front of Karen and the manager and asked the manager if she was going to assist Karen in harassing me, red shirt off showing the law enforcement polo. Saying I could have them both arrested for harassing a law enforcement officer.
Story 2 - Karen is lucky all she got out of it was a ruined coat. My #1 rule is that if you lay hands on me for any reason, first thing that is happening is that you are getting launched across the room, then I'm restraining you while I have someone call the police so I can press charges.
I had a lady stop me from walking past her like the one in the first story. I work at a grocery store as a cashier/bagger, and a week prior to the lady grabbing me, I was on a register and towards the end of her order she suddenly looks at me and says: "Wow, they could have given you a better bagger." My co-worker, who was bagging for me at the time, has major ADHD, and while he is slow and needs a few reminders, he works just fine. I start to feel angry because I've become good friends with this co-worker and I see him like a little brother at times, but I manage to keep my mouth shut despite having and angry expression on my face. The Lady in question sees it, goes quiet, doesn't say another word, takes her receipt and leaves. Fast forward to a week later, I spot this same lady as she sees me. I try to walk past her, as I'm still angry about her words about my co-worker that she said a week before. However, as I go to past her, she grabs me by the arm to keep my from walking away. She then goes to tell me that she's sorry for what she said, that she wasn't talking about me when she said that. That she was really talking about the person bagging for me, as his help was 'worthless'. I get angry all over again because, like I mentioned, the co-worker is my friend. However, I also have a little brother who can't walk anymore, and I'm very protective of him and anyone who I befriend who reminds me of him. It's how I was raised... So, I tell this woman as calmly as I can that I 'knew' exactly who she was talking about at the time from the week before, and that from what I was taught, what she said was extremely rude. The lady let me go like I had burned her and took a couple of steps back, and while she was listening, I also told her that while I did understand that she had no way of knowing that the co-worker she had insulted was like the way he was, but that did not excuse her from being so rude. That saying that someone was 'worthless' is wrong whether they have a condition or not. The lady finally apologizes about it all and leaves. When she comes to the store now, she avoid both me and my Co-worker, which suits us just fine. I got so angry with this lady because I personally know what it feels like to feel 'worthless'. I even married a man who knew this pain even more than I did, and I knew that if he had been called 'Worthless' like this, I may never have gotten to be in a relationship with him that has spanned over more than a decade. Sorry for the rambling, but I now feel better to have gotten all of that out...
The knife story had me shaking my head. Like OMG! What the h*ll?!?!?! What kinda of dumb person tries to buy knifes from someone they just met??? That woman should have probably been investigating cause she clearly wanted to allow her child to play with dangerous, sharp objects.
My father was a chef for 17 years and had a very extensive and expensive set of knives he kept even after changing professions. Not that long ago he priced out how much it would be to replace all the knives and it was well over $2000. I don't think $50 would have bought one of the knives in his set.
I have a chef friend, can confirm. His cheapest blade was about $150. He's really particular about his blades... pretty sure most of them have never been touched by another human hand.
this isn't a super big deal, but I used to work at.. a rather large mall in the united states, and when I was on my lunch breaks (I worked at a bowling alley there) I would be bloodhounded out by tourists constantly asking me for directions to stores I didn't work at/shop at, and one family threatened to call security on me for "not doing my job" and I told them I was just trying to get food for my lunch. the family immediately walked away towards an entrance to find security. nothing happened lol oh edit: most of these interactions happened right in front of the directories

Hi Fluff & Stevo. There is one IDWHL story where a manager not only thinks that a customer worked at his store, he did the following stupid things. 1. Took OP's driver's license; 2. Locked it in the store safe that could not be opened until a certain time and; 3. Called his boss about it. When the security guard realized that OP was not an employee, she told him he could leave. When she found out the manager took his driver's license and put it into the safe, she went off on the manager. Manager got reamed by his boss and fired.
Need more like Story 2. Most of the stories would go something like, The woman shoved hercoat into OP's arms, OP immediately starts hyperventilating while going into an anxiety driven panick attack, crumples to the floor crying... blah, blah, blah
