Thank you for posting this. I watched it all the way thru (twice). This is excellent for learning and teaching. You acknowledged your strengths and your weaknesses (misconceptions). I'm a runner. I try to run 8 miles everyday. My first 1-mile hike had me breathing like you were with dead legs. I learned that running daily DOES NOT translate to hiking (two different endurance concepts). Once your legs turn to jello your shoes become irrelevant. So now . . . part of my training is a brisk walk uphill (or treadmill at 3% gain) at 2.5 to 3 mph (with the weight of an AR, side arm, water and spare mags on my back). I too train for bugging in. I have to expect an aggressor will try to burn down my location to flush me out so I have to be prepared to bug out too. I've learned that most shooters train to shoot monthly (weekly) but don't train for endurance (even as simple as holding an eight pound AR horizontal for a sustained length of time). Hope this helps ☺✅
Yes, your advice most definitely helps. Awesome advice and tips. Thanks for taking the time and for watching. And so true about having to maybe bug out when planning on bugging in.
I recall those from my time in uniform, running on adrenaline. One felt like I was doing an orientating run, with a tactical load out. Up and down, here and there. Then toss in the fact you have keep the head up, and heart rate down.
