Even though I watched this awhile back I'm now able to put this to use now that I have my own Scrambler. Thanks for taking the time - this really helps.
Thanks so much for that great video. Just ordered the oil change kit and filter wrench. Your bike looks fantastic. The knobby tires look great, but after a few years, I got realistic and put on high quality street tires on my bike. Absolutely can’t believe the difference in handling and the confidence on curves. It feels like a different bike. Regardless, thanks again for the video. Cheers from South Carolina!
Tom C yes that oil was good. Didn’t really need to change it then. Where I live is very hot during the summer so I usually change it after summer riding season if I put enough miles. (3000 to 4000) this is just for the summer other than that I do normal intervals.
Could you clarify for us a very recurrent subject among BMW R1200 GS motorcycle owners. We know that for motorcycles with submerged disc clutches the JASO MA specification is recommended which contains anti-slip additives, but... and on BMW R1200GS prior to 2012 that the clutch does not have contact with the engine oil, it can be use a good car oil that does not contain the aforementioned anti slip additive?. Appreciate your attention.
What a very clean and professional oil change. Top marks sir! Loving the Ohlins front forks and Acropovik exhaust... gives the Scrambler a touch stance! How do you find these upgrades... had them on the bike for long? Greeting from England. 👍🇬🇧☕️
Steve Cotterill thank you. I think the ohlins suspension is a must on this bike the stock suspension is not good in my opinion. The titanium akrapovic header and muffler are just nice looking to me. These are not necessary but just look nice.
Thanks for the reply. 👍. Looking seriously at a Scrambler atm in the gold/black factory paint option with the gold cross spoke wheels with road rubber. I was leaning towards the GS Urban... but the Scrambler is calling me tbh. The GS single exhaust silencer does sound good though compared to the stock Scrambler.
I am a Fitter and turner and when making or producing anything my main principal for safety and maintenance is "if you can't have an accident you wont". I just apply this to everything. Bangin shed by the way.
marco de los santos i just tried to keep the bike clean and dried it soon after I washed it. it stayed clean. I sold it but still have the stock header and looks brand new.
I believe that the newer models you do have to bring it to the dealer or get a obd2 or something to reset the service. The one video it was just a combination of buttons
