Thanks for the detailed instructions. Can you also let me know where did you get the GS rear mudguard? I am from Portugal and I am having a hard time to find it. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the excellent instructions! I drilled out the three holes on my 2021 Scrambler and the DB killer appears much longer than ones in your video. I have not yet tried the bearing remover, but I am having the most difficult time removing the DB killers! Any suggestions?!
Hi if you've drilled the welds out they should come out i had a fight with the ones on a triumph scrambler once the bearing puller made it so easy on the BMW
I also have a 2021 Scrambler. Drilled the 6 holes. Still can’t remove the baffles with a bearing puller. The baffles do look longer inside than pre ‘21 models
I found that it’s critical to use a brand new titanium drill bit intended for metal work. A previously used or generic bit generates so much heat that the two metal pieces become fused together no matter how large a hole you drill. A new titanium bit cuts so quick there’s no excess heat and the baffles back out easily with slide hammer
Hey, good instruction. I plan to do the same. Die you try to put the db killer Back into the exhaust? Do you know if thats possible ? Or does it jingling or rattling then?
You can tap them back in with rubber mallet. Very very tight fit so no rattle. No weld or bolts necessary. Just rotate so holes don’t line you and easily pass exhaust inspection
I’m about to drill mine out, I’ve heard others say it has created a whistling sound after removed (possibly because of drilled out holes??) curious if you have experienced this?
@@RedfordBaron Thanks for the video...was able to easily remove db killers and it sounds SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!! a definite improvement without being obnoxiously loud.
Actually heard the whistling on another db killer removal video similar to this one which convinced me not to try it on mine. It almost sounded like a turbo spinning. Sounds fine on this one though.
After doing this mod I think it would be IMPOSSIBLE to hear a whistle over the exhaust. Whistle would only exist are very narrow range of drill diameters anyway. If somebody did get a whistle could just eliminate by increasing hole by 1mm increments. Holes are well hidden inside muffler so no cosmetic issue. I am extremely happy with this mod and highly recommend it. Whistle concern is total BS in my firsthand experience
@@RedfordBaron thank you! I just bought the pure and it’s quiet. I just wanted it a little louder but didn’t want to spend another $600-$900 for an aftermarket headers. I’ll try this one. Thanks again!
@@Sean-yk2cf Hello, yes I finally got it. I think I used a 8 or 10mm drill bit. It's going up mm until it's free. You have to hit from the inside to release it because the db killer is very tight to the tube
In person the difference in sound is night and day. You are listing to a microphone recording from a phone that has been digitized, compressed and then played through cheap speakers. Big big difference in my bike. Seriously
If you spend another 15 minutes and $60 to remove flapper valve it’s like a whole new bike. These two mods works amazing together. Sounds great. Runs great. No error code
