Karen: “I deleted it! What are you gonna do about it?!” Also Karen: “You stopped the severance checks! HOW DARE YOU! THAT MONEY IS MINE! YOU WILL BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYER AND I AM GONNA GET YOU FIRED!”
I am a physician outside the US and I'll never understand how people FIND THE EFFING TIME to go on sexcapades while on call. I barely got the time to pee, let alone disappear entirely from my post for the time required to do all that.
Actually, that's sort of the point. When you're spending 80 hours a week working strange hours, it's hard to have normal social relations with the people in your life. Sometimes you just grab the closest co-worker for five minutes of passionate stress relief. You see the same thing in jobs that don't work as many hours, but work weird hours, like casino employees, night security, restaurant and hotel staff, truckers, etc.
What was the ex-boyfriend hoping for when he sent OP a text? Did he actually think that the tickets would magically work or something? Was that a disparate attempt to make it to a concert which he didn't pay for? He probably told his new girlfriend that he paid for those tickets. It might be even sweeter if she dumped him, because he didn't take her to the concert.
Why do I get the vibe whenever Dabney does his Karen voice, i'm imagining a middle aged woman, drinking from a pink wine glass with nails that would make tigers blush, wearing a jewelry store on herself.
Story 2: There's probably some defect, some lonely, sad void in her personality that made her into such a dangerous narcissist. Those kids are probably going to end up behind everyone else (and spoiled at worst)
Mom has no life and thus makes her kids her life. Their accomplishments are hers while any shortcomings (real or imagined) are seen as intentional and personal slights against her
Yeah, a former friend of mine always seemed to have some grudge against my daughter. It was subtle, passive-aggressive stuff… her daughter didn’t hit certain milestones as early, not made up, she just didn’t. It’s hard to learn to crawl when you have two hyper tween brothers running around the living room, and it’s hard to get a word in edgewise. So this sweet little timid baby of hers, who definitely outstripped mine for growth (her dad’s quite tall), remained shy and quiet her whole life (so far). The mom was an angry feminist, one who felt so oppressed by men (her husband is also something of a narcissist) that she would give me the side-eye just for saying I had to let my husband know I’d be late, or discuss large purchases with him before buying. She got into rants about wearing dresses for formal occasions or taking your husband’s name when you got married and told me point blank I wasn’t entitled to my opinion because she considered anything but the position she offered to be irresponsible. Yeah. Yet somehow her kid is still quiet, still under her thumb, still not the ultra-feminist her mother seemed to intend to make her become. And all through their younger days, when my kid was too blunt, too bold, too rude, if she did anything ahead of her friend, you could see Karen quietly disapproving. Yeah, Karen’s her real name. I’m assuming I bragged about milestones, don’t get me wrong. She was my oldest and she’s clever with words (though not as precocious as I though she was at the time, lol). But we could do nothing right. Karen pushed to have them in the same 1st grade class because her daughter had been so timid in kindergarten and they were friends. In second grade, she insisted they not be in the same class because my daughter kept doing her talking for her. She’d complain about my kid after sleepovers. But then, she had ranted that women were raised to always be nice and polite and never mean, and then get mad at me for not being nicer, so there’s that…
Story 1: I work in the kitchen of a hospital so I can confirm. The first thing I was warned about going in the basement, "If you hear sounds, don't follow them." It confuses the hell out of me because the basement is half finished and mostly dirt and sand.
To be fair, decent lawyers usually *don’t* defend themselves in court. Therapists don’t treat themselves, Doctor’s don’t treat themselves, Highly skilled professionals usually know enough to know it’s better to have an objective eye on the case.
I know! SIL asked why OP embarrassed her, when She convinced her friend that OP was concerned about her twins being behind! SIL's kids are going to have The World's Biggest ME complex & entitlement issues!!!
Wait.... When did OP say that they were a guy? I didn't see, read, or hear that, so.... R/Slash is just saying that OP is a guy when OP could be a woman. I'd be shocked if OP was male and the skanky nurse didn't try to hit on them to try and get the to not tell or something.
I would just start insisting that SIL turn her children over for study, as they’re probably the next phase in human evolution. Every time she lied: “that’s unprecedented! We’ve gotta get these kids to a lab at once! Think of the progress man kind can achieve if we developed that fast!” And I would *insist* that “if your children really are as blessed as you say, it is your duty to the human race to surrender your children to science.” I’d make sure to blow it out of proportion too. “They could be the cure to developmental delays!” And“they could be the cure for cancer!”eventually even “they’re the perfect organisms!” If you react that way every time, people who get the joke will get a kick out of it while you’ll also shut down her lies. You’re not calling out her lies, but rather taking them to a natural conclusion that she won’t want to do because *she’s lying*
When I was 18, I had a boyfriend who I had been dating since junior year. He broke up with me, over the phone in the ER after I had surgery on my jaw just days before. Well, before my surgery we had rented out redbox movies under his card. I kept them for an extra two weeks as my petty revenge.
in 2016, I was hospitalized with a severe leg infection that nearly killed me. I had to have my right leg amputated to save my life. Literally TWO MINUTES after I was rolled back into my hospital room from the amputation surgery, my fiance dropped the keys to my house on the bed and said "I didn't sign up for this, to take care of the worthless cripple the rest of my life." And left. I was 49 at the time. No petty revenge, just to let you know it's during the rough times in your life when you will find out the true nature of someone.
@@clarky23 on the flipside i knew a couple where the woman was a quadraplegic. she broke her neck in an accident and even though this man was the biggest dick you can imagine and fought with her crazy ass all the time he still took care of her for 25 years. he could have easily left at any time and maybe even met someone more compatible but chose to take care of a quad.
@@clarky23 I'm so very sorry that happened to you. Still good to find out who people are before it hurts worse. Some people just don't realize that losing a body part doesn't make you less. Hope you found someone wonderful are taking loving care of each other.😊
Uh no. It was disgusting the way this person talked. Completely ruined any chance of me taking their side. Call me a snowflake all you want, but I tend to be against completely dehumanizing someone SOLELY because they’re promiscuous.
Third story: What screams more than "Sue me! Sue me as hard as you can!“. This qualifies as prorevenge for literally stoping her unemployment by exposing her toxicity.
I'm usually against sl*t shaming, but I feel like it was justified in the first story.. holy shit, walking into the same person going at it on a regular basis sounds annoying as all hell..
I do believe people can do what they want with their own bodies as long as they're not hurting anyone, but what she was doing was having an impact on others so fair enough to shame her.
You can't jam a darkroom cylinder door closed. They're designed to keep light out and repeatedly jamming one shut could damage it until it no longer functions like that.
Story 6 (Spa Gift): Man, I don't even know why this stuff happens. Like, OP bought the package for just him and his ex, but then the ex broke up, so it can't be done. As for the two comments, what did they expect?
my Grandma taught me the phrase "play stupid games, win stupid prizes." She was from the Silent Generation. Not many of them left, including my Grandma (September 1929 - December 2020).
11:20 If that ever happened at my wedding, the "jealous ex" character would rather quickly find out that the only guys she could possibly flirt with are the best man and the priest.
the massage gift story - I had bought an ex hockey tickets, for his bff, brother, him, & myself… like $600. he broke up with me a few months later. my dad had passed away & he said “my depression was really affecting him, making him unhappy.” so yeah he didn’t get the tickets. I sold them to the guy I was dating before him. boy was he pissed when he found out. it was hilarious.
“Hospital staff passionately hugging with each other is more common than you’d think.” Nah man, I’ve seen Grey’s Anatomy. There’s nothing that can shock me.
Story 6?: For anyone unfamiliar with Canada, the Northwest Territories has about 1/8th of the land area with a population of about 41k. The demographics are more than half native: approximately 37% First Nations (southern tribes), 11% Inuit (arctic tribes), and 7% Métis (a native + French mixed people with a unique culture). Sure it's a joke, but having a review from NWT would be like getting one from Antarctica.
@@someghosthunterme too. I hope to God that wasn't another fellow Canadian who didn't realize that the territories speak English. Plus the territories are not that removed from the rest of the country. I am no further removed from the territories as I am from Alberta as someone who lives in Nova Scotia. It's got to be an American or even a European. Cuz they're pretty clueless about Canada. Trust me if someone who used to work in the tourism industry well in college Europeans are just as clueless about Canada as Americans are maybe even more so.
"This guy once, out of all the wrong reasons, happened to tell the truth about a customer about how we were screwing them over by using unethical business practices. Naturally, we ruined his life. How dare he do the right thing even for a second?" Presented as a brag. And a dis on the other guy's character. The world we fuckin' live in.
2:13 one of my favorite things of all times is dabney dad jokes where he starts rereading and ends up laughing a second later at his own joke 😂😂 it’s so pure. 10/10 would listen again
Story 1 as a person that operates a dark room yes you can jam something in the spinning door to keep it shut but it's likely to break the door if someone tries to open it
Second to last story reminds me of my ex. I broke up with her Kate on Christmas eve after she got physical with me during an argument. I came back early on Christmas morning when I knew they were gone and most of my stuff, including the gifts I'd purchased for her. I was only making $1k a month as an intern and was now living out of my car, so you can bet I returned the presents. Some weeks later, when I returned for the last of my stuff, I ended up giving her a ride to work and being nice to her, because I was still crazy about her. She had the nerve to ask me for her Christmas gifts :/ Months later, I realized she was still on my Spotify duo.
In my school dark room sometimes the revolving door for the dark room at my school would get stuck for a moment so you just had to awkwardly wait for someone on the outside to help you
Rslash, I don't think it's just a woman thing. Or I'm not wise to the ways of my people. I'm a female legal adult in a committed relationship, and I also assumed the ex dressed like a stripper to take attention away from the bride.
LOL the story about the lawyer and the 1 star review threw me for a loop. I live in the NWT!! I forgot people knew about us!! And- yes, we do speak English. Along with French, gwichin, Dene, and a bunch of other languages!! It's so nice to he reminded we exist lol
I started speaking extremely, EXTREMELY young, I spoke better than most 3yo kids when I was 2. One colleague of my mum who was this kind of competitive mother always tried to tell stories and one up every parent and most stories were obvious lies. And then she met me, a small for my age 2yo, who started chatting with her in full sentences. I didn't realise it at the time but she was very flustered and hated my mum from this moment on. My mum was sooo confused by that behaviour.
The stories are unbelievable. However #2, there is something wrong with that woman! Instead of bragging she needs to help her own 7 years old . He apparently needs to be evaluated as no one understands him. Have a wonderful Saturday. Thanks so much for your work. I love this channel.
As someone who was speaking in full sentences at 1ur old, it irritates me to no end when parents brag about it and be smug towards other parents. My parents NEVER was like that. They'd only speak about it if someone asked because they know not everyone has the time to teach their kids nor the patience. Why must people put their kids up against each other, we should be celebrating wins not putting others down for their own
Okay so I’m a retired model (lots of health issues and disabilities have rendered me bedridden now with serious mobility issues, very fond memories tho!) and one photographer I worked with was a pure creep. I will put up with a lot as I realised being an independent model, where I managed my own socials, my own portfolio, and bookings, that I’d meet photographers who lacked social skills and were awkward, some more awkward than others, but I was alright with it. This guy however was the only photographer I ever cut the photoshoot short on, I had NEVER done that before, I was sending texts to my BIL because my sister and BIL lived not too far away, my BIL is 6’7 and was ready to come to me. I informed the photographer and he was upset, but decided it was easier to pay me my entire day rate and drop me off at Edinburgh bus station (I’m from northern Scotland, regularly travelled to Edinburgh and Glasgow for shoots). This guy had been trying to inappropriately touch me all day despite me making it very clear this was NOT okay. On the way to the station he tried touching my thighs AGAIN, so I grabbed his wrist and applied pressure to his pressure point, he did not like this, but I was using pain compliance to get him to stop. He took his hand back and decided “I need to use the bathroom”, I was wary and was like “okay well, you can use the local supermarket… right?” No, he tried driving me to his home. That he lived at with his wife. Who was at home. I started leaving the car and his wife asked what was wrong and I explained “he doesn’t know how to keep his hands to himself, if you check his wrist you’ll see bruising, that’s from me restraining his wrist from touching me inappropriately as he drove.” His wife was ANGRY and demanded he take me to the bus station, asking why TF he drove me to their home. He didn’t have an answer, he was just angrily glaring at me. I have PTSD so I just dared him to try it, that me (at the time) being extremely small in size and height would not save him. Did it stop him? NO, cus he tried AGAIN, this time I broke a couple of fingers by ripping them up violently as he grabbed me, I then sat with keys in my hand staring at him and told him “Cmon, try again, I dare you”, because I was so ANGRY that he couldn’t take “no” as a goddamn answer. I got home safely and left an honest review on his photographer portfolio profile (on a model portfolio hosting website), I also messaged close friends who were models to warn them of his behaviour, messaged the site owners wife who was a model, and forwarded his unhinged angry emails to the website admins who were helping me. This idiot, in writing, told me to “change your review or I will leave a retaliatory review saying you’re unhinged and violent” “I was unaware that a lone female protecting herself against a would-be attacker who doesn’t understand “no” is violent and unhinged, but I’m not changing my feedback. Thank you for putting this in writing, you have a blessed day.” He kept emailing, the emails getting more and more threatening. Through the portfolio hosting website. Where the site admins can see his messages to prove I’m not lying. He tried emailing the admins that I was dangerous, unhinged and violent, that I “obviously hates men”. He got banned. So what’s the moral of the story? Never demand someone remove their 1* rating, especially not in writing, because it won’t end well for you. I have loads of amazing stories from modelling, travelled all over my country, met so many cool people, gained experience I’m grateful for, but my GOD some people are just genuinely DENSE.
I'm sorry this happened to you but I have to ask why on earth did you get back into his car, more to the point why on earth did you get in his car in the first place when he was already trying to get handsy with you and was making you feel uncomfortable?? You already said your brother in law lived locally to where you were, so why didn't you call him to take you to the station ?? I hate to say it, but you very stupidly put yourself into what could have been a very, very dangerous situation he could have taken you anywhere and raped you, or he could have even murdered you, if his wife wasn't there he could have held you captive and done whatever he wanted to you infact I'm guessing that was his plan but because his wife was there he couldn't go ahead with his plan, after all why else would he take you there ?? You were very lucky 😳
I am so glad that film x-rays have been replaced with digital. Screw all those chemicals, light sensitive film, blurry images, and the dark room taking up a whole freaking room!
Story 1:RED FLAG RED FLIPPING FLAG!!!!!! Hospitals often have a dress code that is often strict not to mention the hospital could have children inside this is not an era where women didn't have rights
Story 2. Even after she was given the book that proved she was lying, she still insisted that OP's kids needed help. Makes it sound like she makes up lies, then believes those lies.
The mistake on the gift certificate story is weird and changes things. OP didn’t call the spa to say she didn’t deserve to be called a thief. He told her that SHE didn’t deserve the gift certificate
In my school days (like 10 years ago) one of my mates set up a Dropbox with all the exams from the past 10 years. Shortly after the exam all files vanished and nobody wanted to admit but my mate told me he knew who was it since he could see the logs
Story 2 - an old friend of my dad had a saying about people like the competition mum - “That (Karen) - if you broke both your legs she’d have broken all three once”
17:05 ummm ... Rslash did you accidentally leave a line from another story in there? Like we're listening to a petty revenge about someone canceling their big box membership card with their ex and them laughing their ass off ... to "it still gives me anxiety, two black eyes and a broken nose can never be forgotten", like wtf did the GF find OP on the store and kick the crap out of him? That was honestly a scary mood whiplash.
No, that OP said that they had left an abusive relationship. So I think they were talking about past beatings that they got from their ex. They should have called the cops afterwards, for the beatings and theft.
The story about the membership card. I am assuming it's for Costco or sam's club or one of those stores. If the membership is the executive lever I would have just let the ex use it cause their purchases would have earned me cash back. Lol.
I took a photography class and we worked in dark rooms a lot and it was so hard to see in there. I was a master at loading my film onto the reels though.
HOW DO PEOPLE HAVE TIME TO PASSIONATELY HUG AS A HEALTH CARE WORKER?!? Especially a nurse? Like, I’m running around doing 10 jobs at once while in shift
The one who had a "big membership store card," if it was Costco, he should have made sure he had the executive membership and then when his ex and whoever used it, after a certain amount he'd get money back, possibly enough to more than pay for the membership. Would have been a way of making money off of her spending via his account instead of getting a membership of her own.
