Yeah, actually placing your hand on a Bible (or swearing "to God", etc) has not really been a thing in any US courtroom I'm aware of in a very long time. Somewhere along the line most people figured out that that whole pesky "separation of church and state" thing might kinda apply... There might still be a few here and there that do it (I don't think it was ever explicitly banned), but it has long been well established that if they do, they are legally required to allow someone to swear (or "affirm", if they do not wish to "swear") without involving a Bible or any other religious item/language, if they do not want to.

By the same token, if I manage to keep tissue (or an organ, etc) from a corpse alive, that isn't the same thing as the _person_ being still alive. Arguably, we are not "all dying". Most healthy people are, in fact, maintaining roughly the same amount of living cells that they previously had, and keeping the same level of functionality and metabolic processes, at all times, so they are not any "more dead" at one moment than they were the moment before. Most children are, in fact, gaining more living cells than the ones they are losing, so they are arguably doing the _opposite_ of dying (i.e. growing). We are all _getting closer to death,_ but that is not the same thing as "dying". (and arguably, we're all doing it at the same speed, too. It's just a shorter distance for some people than for others.)

Yeah a lot of the oats in the US are now the religious fight there's still the religious version but they always present the option of the non-religious version. Such as the oath of enrollment you don't have to say solemnly swear you can say a firm and you don't have to say so help me God at the end. Also, fun fact many of the Oaths for government positions in the us are carbon copies of the oath of the president.

I'd say that that comparison is like saying that Polish and Cherokee are the same and only because they used similar letters, ignoring the fact that these languages don't share a single word. There is almost no similarity between the emojis and hieroglyphs. In that case, 😢😮🎉😂 would end up being a four letter word. But it isn't.
