Eh. The worst unexpected story I heard was from a friend of mine. Let's call her Michelle. She has a tight knit group of friends and one of them, who apparently acted a bit like a parent to the rest of the group, died at 35, of a heart attack. Except that it turns out that what actually happened was that half of his heart died first but they had no idea at the time. So, no I don't think anything in our bodies likes us all that much.

Oh, hey, the collapsed lung thing's happened to me before! It's called spontaneous pneumothorax, cause all of a sudden there's air in your chest cavity that's not supposed to be there. Usually, it gets there through a hole in your lungs. Basically, some people have these little bubbles (scientifically called 'blebs') embedded in their lung walls, and if one of those pops you now have a hole from the inside of your lung to the outside of your lung, and it deflates like a sad balloon... the course of treatment is basically to first poke a hole through your side into your chest cavity, stick a straw in, and suck all the excess air out. This continues until the lung hole heals over, but if it reopens they might have to burn the top of your lung to the top of your chest wall, so that if it reopens again your lung won't crumple and lose volume. You're then told to avoid high pressure environments and getting hit in the chest. The pneumothorax itself is not really life-threatening if treated, in most cases, just unpleasant, and the lung surgery is minimally invasive with relatively few adverse side effects. Even at the worst points in treatment, when my lung capacity was about 75%, my blood oxygen never fell below 97%; lungs are very good at making do with whatever lung capacity they have available. The people most at risk of an occurrence are late-adolescent, lanky boys who are physically active, but as I was only one of those things at the time of my pneumothorax, it is certainly possible for it to happen in other circumstances too. It apparently can be intensely painful for some; for me, though, it was mostly just the unpleasant visceral sensation of having a bubble moving around inside my chest like I was a giant human level-finder.

When crud is stuck to the bottom of a dish, pour in some cola and let it sit for half an hour. Cleaning it after that will be much easier. You can also use cola to clean sinks or toilets if it's stained but don't let it sit too long. I sometimes save the unfinished colas my family leaves in the kitchen just for cleaning purposes (obv use proper soap/chemicals afterwards though). It's pretty disturbing to me how corrosive cola is yet we keep drinking it.. at least I get some use practical use out of it.
