I really want to thank you. I've been searching the net for the last 2 days, and couldn't get my R-XSR to work with OMNIBUS F4 V3. There are some changes of Omnibus V2 to V3, and the UART was changed from 1 to 6. Thought the problem was with the FC, and tried everything on the FC and BF, until seeing your video and realise I don't have the blue light on RX, only the green light! Finally holding the bind button for 5 sec, and the blue light came on. Suddenly it's working!! Thank you so much, you made my day.
I seem to have the same problem, but I do not see a blue light with my RXSR. I only got a red and a green light on it. Even I press the F/S button for > 4 sec, the red light flash twice and seems changed to S-bus but still I got only 2 sensors found, no PID display with lua script. Is mine a new version of RXSR?
your awesome man, only video i could find that made it nice and simple, everyone else was telling me to do some soft serial stuff which seemed like a giant pain. thanks again
danlatu I swapped my xsr with an r-xsr as well but it doesn’t seem to be binded .I have green and blue light on after binding but it’s not arming.I sidnt notice anything different in the betaflight settings from the xsr to the r-xsr
thank you so much about this!!! I ll write if it helps someone. I dont know why but in revoltOSD running flightone you have to connect smartport to RX3. Moving to Betaflight it doesnt work... I used the UNinverted signal to TX6, enabled smartport in UART6 and suddently numerus sensors appeared in my horus and LUA works!!! Thanks again!
Thank you! Was going nuts trying to get Betaflight running on my RevoltOSD and bolt32 stack. Had to remove sport from rx3 and solder uninverted sport to tx4, the invert bridge on the RevoltOSD doesn’t work at all. Then bridged the rx6 and tx6 pads and now have esc sensor amperage and FrSky telemetry!
Ok I was hoping for some help I got what I think is omnibus f4pro v5 but I hook sbus to proper spot and select uart1 and it still does not show up on receiver tab do I need to invert the s bus wire too or just smart port wire honestly it's a bit confusing as the board I got had no instructions
I exactly know your pain :D had the same issue. The uninverted pad is so annoying to soldier though. I've ripped it out as well couple of times already and I had to solder it back again....
Do they still not give you an uninverted wire on updated receivers? It's been about a year since I did a fresh build with Taranis Receivers. Seems crazy they they don't cater to quad folks and offer the wire on the harness/plug.
@@roscofpv2357 Doesn't look like. Unless I got old stock!! :) Maybe it's worth doing some research. If you find better solution, let me know. Or just maybe better receiver in the same format. I love it's as it's tiny!
So In the diagram it showed that you only need the grd 5v and sbus out wires coming from connector and the uninvert wire from the Ptab. But i noticed you have the grd, 5v, sbus out, and the s port wire coming out connector on your quad. Is there a reason for that?
I'm really out of ideas, and am down to this as my last possibility on why i can't get my omnibus F4 v3 board to arm. I have the r-xsr. My soldering skills are very novice so getting the wires onto the UART6 port (in the case of this specific board) was nervewracking but i pulled it off along with the sbus pad bridge that specifies sbus mode. The thing is, i don't know for sure if i need to solder that green sbus wire from the uart to the uninversion (P) pad on the receiver, or if i am supposed to do that with the s.port wire, or even why this is even a thing. you aren't using the same board as me, and i am a hyper-noob, so i know what you are saying in the video applies to your FC, but is this also the case for my Omnibus? Based on your video, i wanna say the yellow wire, but i don't want to solder more than necessary to fix this.
hello Rosco I have a problem .. I connected everything as in your description but the telemetry works but I do not work receiver tab in betaflight .. do you have any idea?
hey man, Could you let me know of your values `tlm_halfduplex` and `tlm_inverted`? Mine are tlm_inverted=ON and tlm_halfduplex=OFF and I still cannot see telemetry on my Taranis. Same board, same receiver... Thank you!
Any chance you could help me out? I just found this video and it has been by far the most useful one yet, thank you! I have a mamba f405 stack and a rsxr receiver with a rush tank vtx. I wired everything up and binded my transmitter no problem. I have power to everything, the blue sbus light is showing and I downloaded the updates for the receiver, but I cant get any input in the ports tab from my sticks and I have tried every uart as the serial rx. If you have the time I can send pics video etc. This is my first build and I'm just really at a loss on how to fix it. Thanks for the video!
Smart Audio on the Unify is A OK to use on any UART. It will work wherever you put it! I always save UART1 for the built in inverter, and then uarts 3 & 6 for smart audio, smart port telemetry, GPS units, etc.
I'm sorry but I'm not familiar w/ that FC. You should be able to though, you just need to know if the TX3 is inverted and use the appropriate SPort signal, inverted vs uninverted.
very good bro! interesting video thank you very much !! I also wanted to ask you about your telemetry scripts, I only get 2 windows for the pids, and I've seen that you have up to the rx and the rates. information that I have seen in betaflight 3.2.1 and that I have seen in your taranis !! What files are used?
Brother, how did you get those datas from betaflight? I mean; pids, vtx, etc... Did you need to put some Lua Scripts inside the card? If so, could you share the files, links or information about it? Thanks a lot!
Yes, with F4 boards they usually only have 1 dedicated port for an inverted signal so you have to use an uninverted signal on the rest of the UARTs. It's a pain!
i see 5 wires running from your rxsr, live, ground, sbus , the telemetry and smart port? is this correct? do i need telemetry and smart port on separate uarts?
If you look at the schematic at 1:32 there are only 4 wires coming from the RXSR. LIVE, GND, SBUS and S.PORT. S.PORT is your telemetry. Hope this helps
If you have it wired up correctly, using the UNINVERTED S.Port and not the one on the plug, then something else isn't setup right. Are you not getting the sensors in your "Telemetry" page? I'd make sure you're betaflight configuration is 100% right. I'd follow the video one more time and pause it on each step of the betaflight configuration and make sure yours matches.
Well that sucks big time.. ive got the first version of r-xsr.. with no b and p pad.. so it will be soldering directly to one of the pins on the inverter.. And damn that is a small pin.
Thanks man : ) I have a fantastic weller soldering station with a smd tip.. but still its so small leg to solder on. I have only been using f3 boards up till now.. but I'm planning to get a few betaflight f4 board. on Fpv models site they mention you can connect the telemetry to a uart as softserial.. or have i missunderstod. what is the difference between to hack a un-inverted -sport or connect the ordinary inverted signal as softserial? Does softserial slow down the f4 and make 8k8k impossible?
