I'm Brian, and I own an R35 Nissan GT-R and a MK5 Toyota Supra!!
These are dream cars of mine and are both fantastic... But which car do I prefer!
Todays video I talk about owning both the 2014 Nissan GT-R and the 2020 Toyota Supra! I really do enjoy both of these cars so much!
A ton of people ask me which car I like better, the new A90 MK5 Supra or the outgoing R35 GT-R. I like them both equally but in different ways.
I really think the R35 GT-R and 2020 Supra are the perfect compliments to each other. The GT-R is a raw supercar with some good practicality and crazy mod potential. My GT-R is a full stage 3 build with an Armytrix exhaust and has about 600 WHP. The Supra is great around town and super comfortable, but still ha awesome performance and modification potential.
It's been a dream to have a Supra and GT-R in the garage and I think the cars are fantastic the way they are and make for a complete garage!

@@pain.497 That’s the 4 cylinder. The inline 6 starts around $54K or so. I was just rounding up. I bought both of mine for MSRP, should’ve said $55K lol

Both cars have their purpose. Your analogy was on point but I dont think people realize the difference between a dedicated sports car and a sports car built to be driven as an everyday car. The Supra does what it was built to do well just as the Gtr does the job it was made to do well. It's all about the tolerances of the consumer. Both great cars!

They are completely different types of car so can't really say one is better or worse! Both are great!

Oh yeah! GTR is twice the car all day and always has the wow factor. Supra is a great all around car tho. And is some fun!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed absolutely! That's a good point. If Supra had back seats, I would've gone for Supra, mostly cause of the price difference. Also, Supra proven to have lots potential over the decades. So, wouldn't be a bad choice over the GTR! But man for now GTR is just too damn sexy lol

Great and honest commentaries Brian, very informative. I own a R35 GTR , and a Cayman S . Agree entirely with your observations, and my two cars have so much distinct characters but equally fun to drive on weekends !

I have a 17 GTR FBO as well On 91, but daily my ML550, and put away the GTR in the winter (in Canada here). Your right I couldn’t drive the GTR everyday even in the summer, but mostly cause I can’t leave it parked in certain areas for too long etc, and having to pick people up/move stuff.

Thanks for the video! I wish the GTR was better handling though. From what you say the handling isn't as good and the GTR was going to be my next car. I currently have a 350z.

it is one of the best handling car ever made. its not made to be driven casually around corners. the gtr would shit on that supra on a turn track

I have a Range Rover SVR, a gt350R, and the mk5 Supra got to say I agree with daily feeling of the car it is amazing, the Shelby is a little more of a monster like your GTR and the Range Rover is more so luxury and not really comparable but of course also a great car .

Better is very subjective to what the person wants in a vehicle. For example I could say my Titan is better than both the GTR and Supra. What I am looking for in a vehicle is versatility, off road capability, and towing/payload capacity. Good video either though.

Yup, thats exactly my point in the vid. People always ask me why I bought the Supra since the GTR is sooo much 'better'. But like you said, I bought them for different reasons and they are better then each other for different uses

For all the people knocking the Supra because it is mostly a BMW, Toyota collaborated with them to maintain the inline-6 spirit and driving dynamics of the MkIV. I currently own a 2018 BMW M4 6MT modded to over 650 whp and it has been rock solid with no problems whatsoever (yes I upgraded my crank hub but only very recently). That being said, the R35 has always been my dream car for many years, I was just scared away by the ownership costs. It is Godzilla after all, but is a VERY special car. Right now I'm trying to decide between the R35 and the Supra to add to the garage beside the M4. This video is VERY helpful and informative because both cars have their strengths and weaknesses, but BOTH are at the top of my list

Looking at buying a GT-R tossing up between that or c63. What would you recommend?

GTR! C63 was an awesome car. And I filmed a sedan and coupe, both were a ton of fun! But they still have that artificial feeling too them. Super refined and comfortable, and loaded with tech. But if you want a supercar experience, GTR is the way to go! If you are looking for a good daily tho, the C63 would be nice. If I could have 4 vehicles, I'd have one in the garage

It's worth to add that you compare with the oldest gtr the one every one can afford. 2017 model which no one can afford has a lot better ride quality and softer suspension.

Honestly they both sound good. I'm not picky with audio sound. I have music on in the background, but I listen to the engine/turbo/exhaust more ;)

Great comparison, I absolutely agree the GTR feels special. My other car is a Buick Grand National. Both 3.8 turbos with two different purposes. Love your channel keep up the great work!

Well the GTR is 7 years old. Her suspension might be a bit more used- if you had a 2017 or 18 maybe the ride wouldn't be so hard? Idk.

I actually drove a 2019 Track edition. It's very stiff. The suspension and chassis in the GTR is designed for the track, so there is no flex in it. Thats why I love comfort mode in the Suspension. Makes daily driving in it very nice! The chassis being so stiff is what you feel with it.

I like both of your cars! Last Sunday I drove to my local Toyota dealership just to snoop around and saw that they had two red Supra's sitting on their parking lot. The first one had an MSRP of $56,000 and the second car had an MSRP of $57,000 with a sign printed on white paper that said do not touch and that there would be no test driving this car. They also raised the price to $67,000 and I'm guessing it was a Launch Edition but there wasn't much apparent difference between the two cars. The Supra is a wonderful sports car but there is no way on earth I would pay $67,000 for it!

This is not a supra. Not sure why toyota is trying so hard to market a rebadged BMW so badly. That BMW cannot compare in any way to a GTR.

I drove my first Tesla 2 weeks ago (Model 3 Performance) and the acceleration was insane! Handling pretty good too. I'm kind of torn between do I go Tesla, GTR or some Euro (M4) for my next car.

Which is better. A Nissan GTR or BMW with a Toyota body. Well my opinion is hand down the GTR.
