Thanks man, I'm digging straight to that fuse before I replace the pump. My daughter bought an 02 mini with the power steering not working. With a junk yard pump in the back seat. Glad I found your video. New sub right here... .

Thanks for sharing. My Cooper S lost its power steering after a short drive in the bitter cold winter. I struggle the car to a safe spot, open the hood and let the sun warm up the whole engine compartment. It work normal after 2 hours of sunbath. My guess is the fan you mentioned in the video get spilled by water along the drive, and it turned into ice immediately and jammed the whole thing. Is it possible? Just a wild guess.
I don’t know there is another hiding fuse on that hell place that BMW has been confusing us for A kind of ridiculous thing for our mini owners And lastly where can I order this hiding fuse ? Thank you for sharing your god knowledge, I’m so appreciate it so much
I can’t remember where I got it, it is a “100 watt bolt in fuse” if you look that up it should come up. Let me see if I can find you a link! Glad I could help!

Hey I eventually called them cause I did everything I could do to the car and still didn't fix the issue. They said they actually have an 04 mini s in the shop with a power steering recall. Maybe check in to that, you may get some $$ back. They're gonna fix mine for free. Idk if itll help you at all, but Just a suggestion incase it helps you since you wer very helpful.

@@evanroberts1278 I believe it did, but there has always been a little bit of a coolant leak so I can’t say 100% if the power steering issue affected it that much
I have a 2006 Mini cooper and the power steering is working on and off. Sometimes I turn it on and it’s working completely fine and sometimes it isn’t working at all. Any idea what the issue can be?
Could this also cause power steering whine? I've replaced the pump 4 times now and it still is whining horribly. And yes I bled it correctly. Also took it to a shop to bleed it.
That hasn’t happened in my case.. from my experience the whine is usually fluid related. This is the only car with an electric pump that I’ve worked with so I don’t know their tendencies:/
do you know of any solution or what could be causing it? It's exhausting replacing the pump, and I'm starting to think it may be caused by something else.
