Another great video. I just changed my first tire with the Rabaconda. It's way easier and faster. I was just using spoons before. I bought the Rabaconda after watching a previous video on this channel along with some others. I have 3 bikes and ride about 25K miles a year. So this makes total sense for me and others like me.
Good demonstration. Don't agree with putting tire lube on the mating surface of the bead. Not only unnecessary, can contribute to tire spin, at least on a race bike. In my experience only a very small amount of lube is needed, if any, on the back side of the bead and none on the rim. The back side is what might need help to get over the rim and a delrin or similar duckbill will slide just fine against the tire without lube. I ended up with a No-Mar because they were available quickly at the time, otherwise would have purchased this Rabaconda. The No-Mar works fine, but the portability of the Rabaconda is hard to beat, and the ratcheting feature is really attractive. I'm still fairly slow with the No-mar but getting faster. No fault of the No-Mar, just my (lack of) technique. Your setup seems like it would make for faster changes.
I've used both. I'd recommend trying both and it should be an easy decision. Nomar is heavy and bulky and doesn't travel nearly as well as the Rabaconda. For me that's worth it with the portability alone. Nomar you can break beads easier with downward force. Rabaconda breaks beads best once you learn the technique. Apart from that the Rabaconda makes tire changes easier and can be done literally anywhere which the nomar can't do. It was an easy decision for me, but try them yourself and see!
I have used a friends No-Mar tire machine several times and bought myself a Rabaconda Street Bike tire machine. I find the Rabaconda to be even easier to use than the No-Mar due to the ratchet mechanism for the duck head. Another thing I really like about the Rabaconda is the portability. It all goes in an easy to carry bag so I can go anywhere and change a tire. The only thing that I can suggest you buy besides the basic tire machine is the small tire locating rod, 2 drop center tools and the tub of Rabaconda tire changing grease. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase of this system.
