He is one of the knowledgeable rabbis who know Islam and accept its truth. Because they expect the prophet based on their scripture. Isaiah 42, 56, Daniel's prophecy, etc all point to the prophet Muhammad very clearly. They know this and don't hide it unlike others.
As a turk, most folks under the Ottomans and even many turks rebelled against the ottoman government. But now every single one of them is living in remorse.
