I do a lot of rifle refurbishments and restorations, showed off a few on my channel. I don't mind RTI specifically because I can get one of these rotted out rifles and make it look great. Personally, I love them, the worst the better for me haha
@BigBoyRabbit420
@BigBoyRabbit420 10 месяцев назад
We really like them too. We have gotten a good dozen from them so far. This is the only complaint because they sent us the wrong rifle twice then they finally sent a sticker bush lol. I have been having a lot of fun essentially buying mystery boxes from them because when you open it you never know what your gunna get.

@@BigBoyRabbit420 For what it is worth, i think that, since it has along rifle sight, it was jus5 a long rifle cut down by the Ethiopians, and not an actual carbine

I saw that Charlene posted the rifle / carbine from RTI was originally a infantry rifle . That is correct , originally they are M95’s , when converted to the 8x56R we gave them the name M95/30. They had infantry rifles , Karabiner & Stutzen models. They difference between the last two were placement of sling mounts . When converted , most of them received both sling mount points . Hungary , Austria & Bulgaria converted them to the 8x56R caliber . Hungary’s has a H , meaning pointed bullet .Austria & Bulgaria use the S , I believe Bulgaria used the serif S and Austria used the san serif S . The bubba rifle my not be , if I remember the Czech’s converted theirs for police guns and they had the super tall front sight post , something to look into
@BigBoyRabbit420
@BigBoyRabbit420 10 месяцев назад
Oh wow thank you! I certainly will. Regarding the front sight I was told by an old collector before they would surrender the M95s to the Germans they would intentionally bend the front sight. I’m not sure if that has any merit or if it was just a story to explain beat up guns. Luckily mine has a straight front sight. I will do my diligence in researching the Czech police variants.

@@BigBoyRabbit420 during WWI , the Austo- Hungarian Empire was aligned with Germany , so they were not given up to Germany . They did have to give a lot of them out as war reparation to various countries , their empire divided up and became separate countries . The treaty was actually worse for them then for Germany . Right now I have the infantry rifle , a shortened infantry rifle , the karabiner / stutzen by Austria , Hungary & Bulgaria . I would still like to get the contract Karabiner made for Bulgaria , I believe in 1903

@@milsurprifleguy7091 I believe the old man was referring to the Polish having some during WW2 and the bending of front sights. Like I said it was one of those old collector nonsense things. Like the plug in the Gras was for sealing a drop of holy water. I just decided we are getting two more cheap M95s and whichever one has the more shot out barrel is getting a VZ24 barrel and some gunsmith magic.

Biggest complaint with the Tiger is the continual overgrading of their product. I’ve given in to temptation 3 times and have done , well ok. Nothing unusable or trash but not what I would call a good bargain. One I sent back with a plugged barrel ( otherwise would have been ok but couldn’t see the more due to the obstruction) And yes they seem to at least correct their errors - so you are spot on. Don’t expect much, set that bar as low as it will go and treat it like a day in Vegas at the nickel slots. You’ll learn to appreciate those 3 lemons more

Yuuuup we expect the worst so when we get nice useable or even actual B grades we are super excited. I feel bad for the people who look at the pictures then order thinking that’s what they are going to get. We really like RTI an appreciate them going to the trouble to bring all these amazing pieces to the states I just wish people would do their research and understand what it is that RTI has. We also got a TS with a plugged barrel. It wound up just being extremely hard clay. Took a day of soaking in penetrating oil an hammering it to get it out. The barrel LOOKED fine but as soon as I through a brush in it I knew the bore was gone. Still did two episodes with it just to prove it was shot out lol.

To be honest, the stock doesn't look bad for me. Maybe because I have lower standards for certain things or don't judge too much. I only bought one C Grade and it is an Enfield Mk3. Ishapore 1943. It is missing the usual upper handguard, magazine and the cross bolt the Indian rifles always have in their stock. There is a crack but not where the recoil would be. I plan to restore it. The one thing I am not lucky with RTI is their Mannlicher rifles and the long gras rifle (the same one with the bore obstruction. It looks nice despite the crack and the rifling is there but that bore obstruction be giving me problems still. I gonna do the PB Blast method you recommend me). If I were you, I would been happy with that Mannlicher carbine you have. I also got my Type 14 Nambu. It is made in June 1944 and Nagoya Arsenal First Series.
@BigBoyRabbit420
@BigBoyRabbit420 10 месяцев назад
I was just disappointed after a lot of trouble getting one they finally send me one I have to completely strip an refinish the stock. But that’s how it goes with RTI. I must have been Enfield blind. I haven’t been paying attention to their Enfield listings because we have several in the collection. Had I known they had Ishapores I would’ve bought three lol. And that is awesome on the Nambu!!!! Do you have some rounds for it? We hope to add one to the collection one day.
@tomc6255
@tomc6255 10 месяцев назад
I gonna have to buy Nambu ammo from Casto's curios. But yeah, they do have Ishapore rifles. Their B Grades give you an option to pay for an Indian rifle but their C Grades are random. I somehow ended up with Ishapore enfield from the C Grades. I do say wait around Black Friday since RTI have the Enfield prices for $300 for both the Mk3 and Mk1 B Grades. At least how I got my B Grade 1917 last year and seeing their ads from 2021. As for shipping prices, they can get expensive but you can avoid it by buying another Mannlicher 1895 and do a coupon code. The free shipping stacks for the rest whatever you have in the cart. I plan to buy a 1895 and include Italian 1891/28 carcano carbine and cavalry carbine with repro sling and maybe their C Grade Ethiopian mausers. The rest is 10 brass carcano en bloc clips, enfield magazine (for the Ishapore of course), Vz52 sling and hopefully a Vz52 magazine that they had sold prior to the website updating. I don't believe they are out of stock for the magazines when they still have Vz52 rifles available and I want to complete my Vz52@@BigBoyRabbit420

@@tomc6255 thanks for the shipping tip, definitely going to exploit that. We are also going to wait to an see what they put on Black Friday sale. Hopefully they will mark down the beaters and not just mark down their top dollar guns. Have you gotten ammo from Castos before? I swear I remember having the visual image of buying ammo from them but can’t find a confirmation email or screen shot so maybe I didn’t actually finish the order.

the bubba'd one is an actual carbine, while the other is a cutdown long rifle, probably done by Ethiopia. The only way I got a decent carbine, was to get a long rifle, half shot out, and cut it myself. I've since got an m95 rifle that actually had about half life rifling all the way through, and a carcano TS parts gun

As soon as I saw that rifle length rear sight I was almost positive it was a cut down rifle buuuuut I’m not an “expert” on these yet. Glad you finally got a decent rifle. You got a no good TS too huh? I think they were a little too popular. I wonder if I should call RTI an ask for one with a broken stock. That may be the only hope in getting a good barrel.

@@BigBoyRabbit420 the 1st model TS I got from them, has shiny bore, and most of its barrel life left. It had a bad wrist crack, easily visible. Early year barrel, and needs the .267 bullets, but good lil' shooter. I more or less got 2nd one for parts, and it is, lol. I already had a nice euro import one, and really just wanted parts. I went for the Ethiopian TS, as most parts are the same anyways, but had chance of decent stock for the cracked one. Stock was decent, and bore swallowed the brass, with enough room to wag like a dog

@@charlene2400 I love the TS so much. I’m going to have to allocate the funds to get an Italian import. I was told I can get ONE mg for the shop soooooo that’s kinda what I’ve been doing. Loads of research into which one I want as well as doing side missions. Right now it’s a tie between a water cooled Vickers in .303 or a MG42. Also looking at a MG53 but I could just rebarrel the MG42. I personally am voting for the water cooled Vickers. An hour of sustained fire before a barrel swap is no joke. For a large part of my military career I was a gunner I’m an expert with the 240,M2, an MK19. I’ve been dying to get an MG sense I got out the Army.
