Join Dr. Joy and Bahia tonight for Wellness Wednesday!
Racism is a complex system of advantage based on race. It is built on dichotomies of black and white and right or wrong. Dismantling racism and transforming the state of America will depend upon using a more comprehensive integrated approach.

Greetings, OMG this was one of the most incredible shows of HEALING since my beginning to look at your platform. Thank you so very much for having Aunt Kathleen on really. My maiden name is Cross, just saying lol. This conversation is so prevalent on the island /country of Bermuda where I met you, Dr. Joy. The diagram is exactly what is a large portion been on this island country. The more like Aunt Kathleen is the other half of the chart in the past 30 years, so this next generation meaning my 30-26 years male seeds know this as the norm. This is an amazing conversation. There is a race association here that does NOT do the real work. I've gone twice and done what I thought was the real deep work, but, it was thrown back to being my issue of being "too black". Welcoming to this conversation with the three of you is on point. Thank you all for being what is necessary for "HEALING"

Listening to you ladies I can delineate what are expressions of love versus the banter of politics. Stating the heartfelt motivation to help, protect, heal, and change the murderous actions against people. This exchange shows a loving connection as opposed to not bringing feelings into the conversation and/or claiming that BLM is a war cry, is politically based imperialism. This is the reason it, in fact, equals being happily uninformed. Ignoring the lives that you help to destroy because of privilege is hateful. These acts are not from the head intellectual because the head is attached to the heart, the hate is political training.

Only had a slight disagreement with two spots; @1:35 the mixed-race man was indoctrinated from birth to revered white women...how could he not? His father married a white woman and he came from a womb of a white woman. Which is a whole other conversation about mixed children being considered black when they're birth from a white womb. This is why I cringe when I hear brothers say they can produce black children from a womb that is non-black. I'm well aware they would be treated as black by white America but it still doesn't prove they are black children. The sisters mentioned their faith encourages IR's marriages well OK FINE!. However, why dismiss the reasons of how he was brought up. He was brought up to believe his mixed heritage was the wave of the future. So why downplay his reasoning of the very tenets their faith encourages.

@artman2119
@artman2119 2 года назад
I think Cross and her niece answered those points at the end. In the US, the professed “faith” itself operates in the cultural dynamo of anti-Blackness. Their message: Pay little attention to what people say, watch what they do. Confused Black males use the “faith” as cover to express latent Stockholm syndrome behavior, including principles of mejorar la Raza. Who willfully shoots themselves and in the foot? In this American context, the professed multiculturalism of “faith” is merely another back door to facilitate weakening the formation of “enemy” Black family units. This subtle scheme is cut from the same cloth behind mass incarceration. If the result-almost no black male/black female unions-flows from this menu, ask, “who benefits from this scenario?”

The research was done by white women. And it said that Black women man prefer white men over all other men. And black men refuse to be second choice to another group of men, and this part gets dismissed. This also goes into the respect leave black women has for black men and the term "settling" as if black men are not good enough.

It’s hard to have a conversation with those who are traumatized. Often the conversation is founded on cognitive distortions (over generalizations, personalizations, mind reading, etc) and when one attempts to name the cognitive distortion, the traumatized feel like you are ‘denying their lived experience’. I have a good book for you to read, PTSS. Although I think that book even underestimates how historic trauma manifests in the traumatized. Thoughts?

I love listening and learning from Dr. Joy and her daughter; however, I must take acception to one point that was made by Dr. Joy's daughter; and that is the declaration that racism can be solved. While I understand her point that it is within human capability to overcome racism; I also know that it is not within white will to do so; and it hasn't been for over 400 years now (1619-2019). This should inform us on their intentions. When speaking on human capability regarding temptation, the bible says: Matthew 26: 40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. This is especially true when dealing with racism. Although some whites express a willingness to understand racism, almost none of them actually make efforts or structural changes in their institutions to effect change in society or dismantle racism. For example, the very white person that insisted on a "play date" with Bhatia's daughter will most likely also not correct family members who demonize American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS), for fear of exclusion; and she will likely not speak publicly regarding police shootings or inequalities on the job for this same reason. The spirit is willing, but the flesh knows that if it supports the ADOS community by going against the racist pillars of society (family, church, work, school, etc.); then the quality of life and privileges they have become accustomed to (and that is paid for by keeping ADOS as a bottom caste); will not be there for their posterity; and even though it's the right thing to do, it's just not feasible. As history tells us, there have been abolishsionist and liberals and bold-speaking white individuals; but somehow, there's never been consistent effort on the part of "good whites" to effect transformative change, whereby whites don't revert back to where they started with regard to racism. So then what's the answer? For me, the answer is found in the bible. Father YAH promises to destroy Esau, whom HE hates; and to restore Jacob, whom HE loves. Otherwise, there would be no hope. Jeremiah 31: 7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. 8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. 9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. 10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. 11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Be blessed. Shalom!

What do we do in America we couldn't watch another country do in other words if you go on vacation and you see American racism coming from a foreign country you would be truly shocked the mirror will be turned directly towards you you would actually be able to see yourself the Way you are in the eyes of another person that won't make sense until it happens
