ive found the stock tires from my trx4m defender work really well on the scx24. they actually outperformed a set of injora tires i had on them. granted it does feel like cheating because theyre "18 scale" but they still look good
I just fixed issue on steering throw angle issue. The outer shaft cup is being restricted by the inner shaft. Cut off 1mm of the cup and re-grind the bowl. The unaltered knuckle gets 40 degrees of travel. The shorter cut knuckle gets 77 degrees of travel. Figured I could help since I solved it.
Great mods and video. This rig just seems like one of those things that at first look like a good deal but after you mod and fix things you would wish you just spent the extra 50$ on a scx or fcx 24
For sure, it’s not a replacement for either of those vehicles by any means but if you like to collect multiple brands of these 1/24 scale crawlers than this is a decent one to add to the collection 👍🏻
Kinda a pointless comment, who ever keeps a scx24 stock anyways? And it’s a banger truck for people who know the hobby and know how to quick fix things
Every single rc vehicle & company has problems, that is a fact. But it is the hobbyist that makes those problems disappear with knowledge and experience how to fix those problems. Some people make there own parts, while others wish they could purchase them. A good experienced hobbyist can do all of the above in all honesty.
@@SteadfastRC I immediately replaced almost every component on my SCX24 and spent easily +250 on top of the original 150. so almost $400 right out the box because again, who keeps their scx24 stock? When I got this racent, I immediately spent about 150 to get it going and it's honestly been great. My scx24 is more of a shelf queen now. so no, not all people who know the hobby know it's a bad buy - your blanket statement is wrong.
Ok add it up. $40 into wheels and tires. Another $20ish for drive shaft. Probably came from 2 diffrent trucks. Theres $120. Almost a deadbolts cost. If your a scale guy its still a $80 body.
It's easier for alot of people to buy the cheap one and upgrade it as u get money coming in. Alot of people like myself can't afford a $150 rc at ounce,so we buy the cheap one and upgrade it at your own budget,I'm not calling u out or trolling. I'm just telling u that's why I buy the cheap because I can't afford the more expensive ones and I can't save money to save my life lol
