Master Nam from NV Auto (nvauto.ca) intervenes on Connie's behalf, our Beams 3SGE Blacktop swapped 1977 Toyota Celica GT coupe, so that we can cleanly get the Street Smartwire PDM and IQ3S digital dash wired up and integrated nicely with all the powered accessories on the chassis as well as the Panic Wire engine harness.

Just a little tip with 3-phase: to switch direction all you need to do is swap any 2 of the normal phase conductors (not a neutral or ground, so A, B or C phase conductors).

The RA64 column is technically 3rd Gen Celica. I am actual looking for those plastic clam shell trim covers that you took off that column since I used the RA64 column in my 77 RA24. Sell and ship to me if in BC you don't use?Also the RA64 throttle pedal can basically bolt into the original pedal arm mount location. This could save you some fabrication. I could send you some photos if interested. Thanks for the inspiring celica build!

You guys should do photogrammetry in that plastic piece and make a 3D model (i think they do that with autodesk) so you can 3D print a new one later if this one breaks

Been looking at getting the smartwire system for my Rx7 fd but being a road car I’m scared that the car itself may have too many functions for the smartwire to handle completely, that and I have no idea how I would wire and terminate each system. My main aim is to delete at least some of the numerous fuse boxes the car has, I haven’t been able to find a start to finish guide on the installation and the smart wire site doesn’t really go into that much detail. Little things like starter relays and twin speed fan relays confuse me . Is there a full guide anywhere

Don't know if it got fixed yet or not, but to reverse the direction of a three phase motor, just swap two phases.

Could you provide a link to the Iat sensor your using and the grommet or size of grommet? I have a very similar set up on my corolla and need to place an air sensor in my sq ITB plate. Thank You!

It's a generic IH7 iat sensor from the local parts store, cost a whoppin' $18. The grommet size I'm unsure of since I just dug around in our collection to find something appropriate but will try to take a measurement for you.

Sounds good. I've been watching speed Academy since the FRS build and have learned a tremendous amount. I even got my corolla tuned town here in Arizona by Tony at UMS. It would be cool to see if you are going with an Alpha N or speed density based map on the ITb's, since there isn't much information on making a reliable tune that accounts for elevation changes. Would also be cool to see what insight Sasha has on the subject with his time attack car experience. Great job with the show!

That little plastic piece is called a clock spring.

No it's not, the clock spring is a part behind the steering wheel that has coiled wires and enables electrical signals from the horn (or in modern cars any steering wheel controls) to travel to the fuse box or relays to turn things on /off while the wheel is turning. [edit for clarity]

I can build you a car from the ground up, know what I can't do? Machine an engine. I don't have the tools to do so. Know what else I can't do? Wiring. I'm color blind so unless someone labels each wire with a tag that says "blue", "yellow", "red" etc then I can't differentiate all of the wires. I'm willing to bet you're a teen or in your early 20s, you'll get rid of that mentality the older you get.
