Well, Rachel Garrett coming back is more than a pleasant surprise. If they show the Enterprise-C, I wonder if they will retcon the ship and show the original Probert design on camera.
@generalilbis
@generalilbis 2 месяца назад
As much as I'd like to see Andy Probert's original design be substituted in for the design used in "Yesterday's Enterprise"...you still have that design in both said episode and later uses for the class in TNG and DS9. Which means another Enterprise is going to be potentially stuck with being arguably downgraded to explain preexisting canon like the SNW Constitution-class Enterprise becoming the TOS version.

If you haven’t read the _Variety_ linked in the description I strongly suggest you do so ASAP. It’s one of the best articles in the mainstream press about Trek that I have read in the past few years. It gives a great overview of how things are currently going and what they hope to accomplish in the future. Another great thing about it is it’s accessible to both fans and non fans although there are parts that will make more sense to fans. 😉

Why no mention about star trek prodigy season 2 premiering in France TV and that TV streaming service? It has been in the news for a few days. Unfortunately it is dubbed and subtitled only in France. But for all Franch speaking people out there with access to those season 2 episode, do enjoy and watch it as often as possible. Watch it live while on broadcast TV. Numbers are important. The higher viewership it has, the more likely we have a season 3.

TCentral was above board and didn't name names (and I haven't looked, I watch for content, not politics) so I have zero idea if TCulture was one of the channels that participated in the lashing they received... for covering Trek news. Talking about attracting new fans into the franchise, I think the biggest problem is the amount of time zones/centuries current Trek is set in. You've got SNW (mid 23rd), Section 31 (early 24th presumably), Lower Decks & Prodigy (late 24th), PIC (early 25th) and then DSC (32nd). It's a lot for a new fan to take in. It was much easier in the 1990s when TNG, DS9 and VOY (and the movies) all took place at the same time.

The "Lost Era" novels and some PC games list Garrett as having been born in 2300. Undiscovered Country was 7 years prior to Garrett's birth. Enterprise C and "Tomorrow's Enterprise" happened in 2344. Kacey Rohl is 32, but could easily pass as young as 21 in my opinion. So, I'm guessing Section 31 takes place between 2321 and 2332. Somewhere between 2293 when Rachael Garrett dies in 2344 is when we lose the white turtlenecks from the uniforms. We do see a message for Wesley from his father in the non-turtleneck version (with updated comm badge) that was recorded in 2349 (5 years after Yesterday's Enterprise). I'm curious where in the Monster Maroon lifespan we end up. It definitely shouldn't be the new comm badge era and my gut is telling me it'll be post-white turtleneck.
@Yandarval
@Yandarval 2 месяца назад
The turtlenecks should been kept. The maroon looks horrid without them. Ditching the belt, which was done. Thats the only change to make it "different".
@williammobley9634

Everyone is forgetting that Monster Maroon type version from TNG Episode "Tapestry", in which Picard wore a Monster Maroon TWOK with crew neck as supposed to the turtle neck and kept the belt. If they keep with Cannon, which is a big if, then we should see this uniform in the new series if it's set in the 2320's.

something I would like to see would be a live action show that takes place just post Picard but following a ship from a discontinued ship class. The ship would be one of the last of it's class in service and we would see the crew handling all the tech from different eras keeping everything running while they try to show that the class still has life in it as the fight to keep it from being decommissioned. Maybe use an Ambassador class like the USS Excalibur or a Nebula Class.

The fact Michelle Yeoh has been pushing for the Section 31 show, then movie for years at this point, won an Oscar and still made sure she was heavily involved (and wants to do a sequel if it does well) in the production and visibility of the movie says a lot to many of us in the Trek community. An actress of her stature to be so invested and involved in this, and willing to obviously not get paid top dollar amounts to do it (though I'm sure she still got paid handsomely lol) says a lot about her as well if you ask me. Plus, I mean, now that we know it takes place in "The Lost Era" come on, that's pretty cool. Really looking forward to SNW S3 as well, hoping they continue with the momentum they've built up from the first couple of seasons now. And I do hope we get more "Trek" like episodes aka that really awesome time travel episode from S2 with La'an and Kirk etc. Or weird, colorful episodes like the fantasy one from S1 (though not my favorite). Plus, can't wait to see how they continue the cliffhanger :D Starfleet Academy taking place in the new Discovery timeline is great, still want to see more of that era explored and since Discovery is going to be busy finding 24th century Romulan artifacts and ships I don't think that crew is going to be exploring more of the 32nd century lol So Tilly if she's involved in the show, or if it's an all-new cast for young adults, yeah, I'm game. Just show me more cool future tech guys!

Very cool! My thought on the lost era is: an appearance by Denise Crosby would be appropriate--and legendary! Happy to see the 32nd Century being explored since it's more appropriate for our understanding of science and the art of CGI these days. The 24th Century was so nineties! 🤘

As long as they do something that vaguely makes sense... Heh. That's already a step or two above The Original Series. :)

John Harriman was captain of the Enterrise B until 2311 and undertook missions for Starfleet Intelligence. (Alan Ruck is now 67.) The Enterrpise B was in service till 2329. After John Harriman, Demora Sulu and then Thomas Johnson were captains. (Beta canon)

i wonder if Section 31 will show an updated model of an Excelsior / Enterprise-B ship? seems they'd definitely be in use since they made it to TNG regularly. that'd definitely be some nice fan service. or even some more Ambassador class looking ships. it'd be nice to see some other ships in that Enterprise-C era design language.

I highly doubt it would be the Battle of Maxia, as that was 2355, and well after Garrett's death. I'd love to see the Tomed Incident, possibly depicting the destruction of the Enterprise-B.

The Tomed Incident was in 2311, so allthough I would like to see that too, that seems too early for adding Garrett. Even if we consider the Beta-canon date of 2311 for her joining Starfleet Academy as given.

The battle of Maxia was said to have happened in 2355. 9 years before TNGs 1st season.

My guess, it will be the period building up to Treaty of Algernon, and the benefit of Georgiou’s character is she is the outsider who can do the internal investigation to uncover the truth which will be something totally different, having Romulan/Federation sub-group who are sabotaging the peace, that’s been done twice, and Georgiou has knowledge from the future that can enable her character to really leverage her psychological manipulation along with her physical prowess

I hope they use the Probert design for the Enterprise-C. Heck, I can even provide them with a 3D model if needed. If i would know who I need to contact I would make the suggestion myself.

I'd love to see the Enterprise-B back in action! Maybe this means Alan Ruck could be back as Captain John Harriman too?

I am most looking forward to the next season of Lower Decks. Also, I would love to see Strange New Worlds do an alternate timeline 'real ST television production' done as a dream sequence, and a long Trek about the Klingon homeworld. Q'apla, y'all.

"For the first time in over a century, the academy will be re-opened" That was in their FIRST announcement for the Academy series. The recent "confirmation" of it being 32nd Century, isn't new information. It's not Breaking News. It was ALREADY confirmed when they announced the show.

It just hit me that if the Neranda Battle took place some twenty years before TNG, then Sela was around twenty five during that series. I have problems with that.

I LOVE the new stuff coming out. Although different than the first series that sucked me into Trek, TNG, or my fav series, VOY, I still appreciate that Trek is constantly evolving and trying new things. The huge break between ENT and the Kelvin movies saddened me because I was worried that ST died and would end up like so many other franchises that have never been revived. Thankfully, those behind ST dev is still throwing out ideas and experimenting, and have been receiving enough positive feedback that the money is coming in to continue the ST franchise. What I do not like are the complainers. The ones who hate everything after TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY or ENT. Yes, I have met all 5 types and they make me face palm as I cannot relate to their POV. They personalize ST so much that any change from what they consider "real Trek" (which is completely subjective to them) they take offensively. And if it was up to them, ST would have died long ago as a franchise since they do not believe in change. And sometimes, they are so misinformed that they do not even realize that their favorite ST show is different from the ones that came before because major changes were made. Like those who love DS9 but think that ST shouldn't have moved away from Mr. Rodenberrys vision. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ News flash buddy, Mr. Rodenberry would have disagreed with the end of TNG and all of DS9 because I'm his original vision the Federation was a Utopia with no conflict between the Federation members or their crews. Meaning if the shower runners stuck to the original premise Section 31, the Maqui, the Dominion War, and basically everything that came during and after the last 3 seasons of TNG would not exist. If you ST geek like many others please pay more attention to the actual ST development history. Pay attention to all of the retcons that exist since the TOS and even during the TOS era. And please understand and accept that not everyone will treat or see ST as you do. It's okay to not like the new ideas, but also don't try to kill the new Trek productions. I'm in my 40s now and I for one would love to retire and die while watching new Trek episodes. And I want my hypothetical grandkids to also be watching new Trek with me. I want ST to remain, evolve, and stay culturally relevant 100 years after my death. ST forever! ❤️ 🔥
