Thinking about long phrases, listening to the harmonies can be used on learning any pieces. Thank you so much for teaching us how to practice❤️

Good points. I was wondering about how to work out the subdivisions. Just fit all those “quavers” into the two beats equally.

With Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto while the time signature is written in:2/2, the tendency is to play it in 4/4 most times. This tempo has become a matter of interpretation for the performer to either play it at the literal 2/2 rhythm or 4/4. I believe Rachmaninoff would have been just as effective; staging the beginning rhythm firmly in 4/4.

Hello, a long time ago, I remember seeing by chance a small extract from a very old black and white cinema film and in the script at one point the main characters of this film (an Asian, Japanese or Chinese couple?) go to the opera to listen to the Rach2 concerto. During the crescendo and the take of the marching theme in the 1st mvt (if I remember correctly) we see the woman crying with emotion at this moment. I never found out what film it is, do you know it ? Sorry if I write badly in English, I'm French.

Hi! I understand the English, but I don't know that film unfortunately.

The right hand notes need to taper off the left hand notes.
