You were awesome, Allie. I was glued to my seat watching. When I saw you finish top 30, second for Team USA, only seconds behind Weini, I was ecstatic. Then for Team USA to finish fourth, behind the east African teams, that was amazing. To put things into perspective, you went from climbing up and down Mount Marathon as a teen, to being the TOP 30 XC runner IN THE WORLD. You must very very proud. I know your fans and supporters are. Way to go, Allie. 👍
Hey Wings Nut - do you mind me asking how were you able to see the race ?? I clicked on all the stuff and all I got was "coverage blocked in your area". I live in Texas, so I'm not sure what I did wrong. But I tried. I finished my training run early to make sure I would see both races. Instead I ended up watching Catalin Clark three pointers highlights LOL.
@@Wings_nut So Peacock is a monthly subscription correct ?? I already have NetFlix and I sometimes think I waste too much valuable time with NetFlix and I just can't justify spending money on Peacock for a handful of events - I wish they had it on regular TV - heck they show pit bull riding on regular TV, surely they can show World Cross on regular TV. But I just found out that the womens final four game Friday won't be on regular TV - see I'm on the Catlin Clark "bandwagon" !!
Weini Kelati is a beast. I can't believe she managed to hang with the Kenyans for so long. And then I'm even more impressed that even after that, she held on and finished 15th. Her last 200m looked like willpower alone.
@annemasika6059 I agree. But I think Kelati wanted to test herself against the medal position runners with an eye on the Olympics. On a cooler day, I think she could have run the same race plan and still finished top 10.
Amazing race Allie! I'm glad you had a great experience! 2nd American and top 30, damn. Truly inspirational. 🔥. And overcoming your eating disorder. I'm so inspired and moved. I struggle sith with addiction and have Olympic dreams of my own. You showed me anything is possible, one day at a time.
Clicked on notification so hard my finger went through my phone. I can't start to describe how proud I am of you. I consider your build up starting way back in high school when I started tracking your running. No, I'm not a stalker... middle son was running in high school then and like all parents they look at results from all across the country. Everything you've been through over the years has brought you to this race and this result. My heart is bursting with pride like a fathers heart would be. Awesome job Allie and stay strong and be true to yourself. Love from Virginia!!!❤❤❤
Super congrats on your performance, Allie! I was totally thinking it was like Mario Kart too! =D Was waiting for some green shells to bounce around the course LOL
Peacock streamed a Kenyan training run at Worlds (lol), so I am super excited you dropped this video, featuring a closer look at Team USA & a true star, Allie O! Much respect for your strategic race moves, as well as your video editing. Great job & lots of kudos! ❤🎉
I wish they would have done a better job showcasing everyone. Their coverage was kind of boring. The Kenyans were crazy good but I wanted to see what everyone else was doing too 🙃
There was a lot to watch! I watched the Peacock livestream at 7:45 am my time aka super sleepy, but I thought I recognized Allie securing her hair bun from behind just before the start of the race. Then I marveled at our Kenyan sisters for the duration of the race - wow- with Weini Kelati not far behind - also wow. Didn’t even see a hay bale until watching it a 2nd time after a nap. Fwiw the senior women’s race coverage stopped just as they announced Allie as the 2nd US finisher and then blammo, here comes the men’s race. It’s like they were waiting for Allie to come through before setting up for the next race.
@@annt7384 yes I spied Allie a couple times! 😁 and what the Kenyans did was incredible, not trying to take away from that. I just wish we heard more about what the US girls were doing during the race. I’m glad Allie gave us such a great recap
@@sarahdore7884Beatrice was impressive. And, it was cool to see the course. I was kind of hoping for better overall race coverage as well. I guess they are somewhat limited with cameras & equipment in certain sports/events. Allie came through for us though.
What an awesome race, Allie! Congratulations to you and all of Team USA, 4th place is a result you can all be proud of. Loved the team strategy aspect of the race, so awesome that you got to spend time with your parents all the way over in Serbia, and I'm excited to see what you get up to next! 😊
Great race Allie, I watched it live, it was really fun to watch. Really happy for you, I hope you decide to run the Steeplechase in the Olympic Trials and book your ticket to Paris. Best regards...
CONGRATS ALLIE! You strong like bull! 💪 Not where I heard that expression before... I'm thinking it was SNL, but I could be wrong. Anyway, awesome job, I'm so incredibly proud and happy for you! 👏 😁
Allie you are my idol I am a runner myself not near you but you re my inspiration you are who I hope to be when I grow up you were amazing so well done just know that we are all here backing you
Congratulations on such a great result!!! Getting to a starting line injury-free is always an accomplishment and to then go on and run with your team with such great spirit! I am so glad you enjoyed it. It did look busy - with all of the obstacles.
Thanks for the race video. Shows a lot more than the TV broadcast which was almost all of just the lead pack. Showing some nice detail in your deltoids there in your talk at the end.
Awesome job! It’s good to see you really enjoying a race and the fact that you were willing to accept whatever happened before the race shows how much you’ve grown in the sport in the last year. So proud of u and inspired by u!
I bet you are so happy you addressed your ED. You have to have calories for races like this. You go win Allie. Our whole family is cheering for you. You are followed, admired, and loved. Go big and win. 👏👏👏👏
Congrats Allie… you are a superstar and should be so proud . Look forward to hearing about your next life adventure. I will stay tuned. Lisa from Geelong Australia “down under”)
Congratulations, Allie! So happy and proud of you! What a joy to see you feeling good, running amazingly, and having fun doing something that you love!
You did fantastic! And represented the US with great distinction. You were well prepared, physically and mentally and executed your strategy to perfection. I have an inkling that you could be a major factor at the US Olympic Track and Field trials, if you choose to go that route.
30th in the world of cross country is an amazing result considering the field. I have loved following you through your journey, so far. Your inspirational.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching on Sat morning and as you appeared in the distance, it was cool to recognize the running style before anything was announced as you crossed then finish. Congrats on the finish !!!
Luv you Allie! Thanks again for your honesty/transparency. And sharing the journey with us. Really nice to see your examples of mental and physical health, combined with full on honesty. Way to go! I hope you can bask in the glow of this achievement for a while. Way to stay positive!
This made me so emotional Allie, thank our did so well and have come so far. To come in second for your team and making top 30 is the hugest achievement in top of everything you have been through to get here. I’m like a proud mumma even though I’m only 3 years older than you.
Well done!! What an incredible performance, you deserve to be so proud. I liked what you said about going into the race feeling and knowing that even though it would be hard you were capable
So happy for you. Your buildup was strong and your race met your expectations. That is all any runner, team USA or hobby jogger running a local race can ask for. Looking forward to your next adventure. Now you go home to the 5k king of Seattle.
Congrats Allie I am so happy for you :) Also, Congrats for team USA placing 4th place that is awesome!!! So stoked and happy for you can't wait to see what you do next :) much love
Very exciting. Been following your story and all the obstacles you've overcome - and now for you to make it "back to the world stage" (as some of the headlines put it) is really inspiring to see.
Congratulations, Allie, on another fantastic race! I'm so happy it went so well for you and Team USA! What an amazing and fun experience! You deserve that great payoff after your hard work. 🎉🏃♀️🏋♀️🏆🇺🇸
I don’t know why but I cry almost every video. Allie, you are such an inspiration to me even thought I’m an 800 runner. Your determination, dedication, and willpower is just absolutely incredible. You are incredible. Thanks for sharing your journey with us and congratulations on a fantastic race
Outstanding Allie!! It was great to hear them acknowledge you on the broadcast. I am glad you had a great time!! Looking forward to follow you on your continuing journey whatever it may be👍
Yay yay yay!! I watched your interview after the race and now I'm so curious about whether you will be steeple chasing again soon. Whatever you do, you are awesome and it's so fun to watch your journey. I really appreciate the effort you put into your videos and the hustle in front of and behind the camera. You deserve the best Allie!!!
Ahh I am so happy for you!! Thrilled to see you thriving and on such a big stage. So proud of you for keeping at it!! Cannot wait to see what comes next 🤩🤩🤩🤩
We love you Allie!! You and your team executed the race just liked you planned and got the 4th team place in the world!! Congratulations to you all! Your parents support is amazing btw!! 💗
Well done Allie. Great performance. You fully deserved the outcome of this performance (USA number 2 at worlds. WOW!) after all the hard training you have put in. Confidence and belief required along with the hard miles. Keep it up.
I somehow ended up on running RU-vid when I absolutely cannot run to save my life. Probably contributed to the 18 years of second-hand smoking my lungs went through, but it gets painful pretty fast for me. That said, I’m so engaged with your videos, and seeing what goes into a race is so interesting! My family is from Bosnia, super close to Serbia, so I hope you enjoyed your time there outside of just racing. :”)
So proud to have you represent the USA! What an experience this had to be.. so so neat. And congrats on your race.. top 30 and 2nd USA runner!!! Just a great effort by you and all our runners. 4th as a team is really cool. I hope you had plenty of time to take in the sights of Serbia with your parents. WTG Allie O!
You recognized the over-reaching situation and handled it in the nick of time like a pro... which mentally is not easy, even if you are a pro. You surely worked hard for and EARNED this result, Congrats Allie! Anxious to see what's next.
I watched you race live. So inspiring to see you in your LMNT. They really should sponsor you. It is a great product but you are over the top. So genuine, living your best life. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
Allie! First off congrats! Well done. Secondly I have to comment on your attitude, your positively and maturity. You have obviously been through a lot and it seems like you've grown, adjusted and now are thriving Team USA you made us proud.
I think this is the most fun I've ever had at a race, and I contribute that to the way my mentality has changed through both recovery and having David as a coach :)
Congratulations to the entire team! This is the happiest I have seen Allie post race. I was wondering how much a team dynamic there would be on the race course considering how little you get to run with each other. And I was happy to see you got to help each other on the course.
@allie_ostrander even the US Team after party looked like an absolute blast. I watched a lot of the live race coverage and saw most of the Team US post race interviews that got posted to RU-vid. My heart was full of joy seeing so many of you all thrilled with achieving your goals. This is even more true when those goals aren't a medal in an age when non-athletes and non-competiters will call a Silver medalist the first loser.
