Its very common that in east asia have little or no encounters with people from africa which might cause ignorant situations but also I don't like this victim mentality. In short if you want to feel like home stay at home, develop your country so your decendants don't need to travel for a better chance at life. No hate whatsoever but this is my opinion. I have visited other countries and I went through similar situations but thank God I was there to visit and not live.
The very idea that you should just accept poor treatment because you are Black and go to another country shows a problem in your character. Think of youself going to another country and random people go up to you and spit on you, throw stuff on you, attack you, and worse. All just because you are Black. Would you be cool with that because you are not in your country?

I just want to put it out here. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with your skin colour. YOU have VERY beautiful skin colour! 👍👍 ALL skin colours ARE BEAUTIFUL. We need to get it out of our heads that only some skin tones are beautiful. I have worked with a beautiful Kenyan model for a high-end jewellery shoot. Her skin colour was dark, like yours. She looked STUNNING in the photos!! She was always such a beautiful human being. So happy and positive. It was such a joy working with her. Chinese people, like ALL people, all over the world, are very curious about people that look different from them. Just go with the flow and don't let race, nationality or skin colour issues trouble you. Enjoy your experience in China. WE only have experiences in life; memories will fade....but living in the present and enjoying each moment id what we have, every minute of every second. Make it your BEST experience at every moment. @@xingislong But you don't know what is in other people's minds. It is you own conviction that you should be respected. When you don't get it you blame your skin and not your own under-accomplishment! People in China work hard to get what they want. If you do not have a skill marketable in China but is looking for benefit there you will not be respectable to the Chinese no matter what colour is your skin. You will be seen as just a passenger to be fed and carried by others economically.

This generalization is what they also do here, believing that all Africans are of poor and unrespectable descent. And I don't think anyone, of any race should have to demand for respect so as to be respected.
@@xingislong But Chinese are being racial prejudiced as much as the Africans all over the world. I know Chinese seldom complain like the Africans and that is a fact. The point is if you are an accomplished person and a master of your own destiny you wouldn't care if you are being racially prejudiced at all. Just imagine if a non-white person being a millionaire, has assets and properties, lives a comfortably life, holds a steady high-pay job and well respected in society because of what he/she does would he/she be bothered by the colour of the skin? I don't believe all Africans are the same. Many of them work just as hard as the Chinese to earn a position in society and the majority of them do not complain their lives or treatment in China! Chinese differ from the Americans because they have culture and tradition. Their ancestors mandate Chinese people to be courteous to non-Chinese and treat them as "guest". This is Confucius teaching that every Chinese learns in school including president Xi himself. I am not saying that you will never experience any racial problem in China but it is a society that you should have the least problem on racial issues. China has 56 ethnicities living in a harmony better than any other country if you haven't picked this one up yet!

bro, sorry for your experience facing those Internet trolls. In real life, most people are just curious instead of being racists, but have to admit that there are assholes on the internet. I'm not gonna argue racism exists in every country, just hope all kinds of racism don't exist everywhere. I think You are a bit over sensitive when you even complain angrily about crickets... I just think lower tier cities like xiamen may not be suitable for you. Try 1st tier cities like shang hai and Chong qing.
The place I live in has more than a thousand black people and my school's population is 90% international students so it's not simple to dismiss it as ignorance. The lady was pointing at me then burst out laughing with her friend

There are hundreds of thousands of foreign students and expats studying or working in China, 99% of them do not shoot any video or post it online. Besides, being able to film almost everywhere on almost everything at almost any time is in fact a freedom and a privilege. When I tried to do that in the US (where is supposed to have the most freedom), I got stopped at multiple occasions at many places (even in public space). So, don’t take it for granted!

I think the lady who said you don't smell like African, could be that she meant African people smell different because they eat certain spices that will diffuse from their pores when they sweat. It's not that Africans don't shower. Don't take too much offense to it.😊
All around the world there is prejudice against people based on darkness of their skin. I think the underlying reason is class-based. Darker means "farmer" or "low class" while lighter means "urban" or high class. Of course this is ridiculous, but I found it to be almost universally true. In China, even among local people we have this prejudice, and as a Chinese who has traveled abroad a lot, I faced prejudice for my darker than European skin. I think the internet is helping to educate the world on this.

Don't forget the extreme ISLAAMOPHOBIA, especially from the regime. I was going to live there too but after seeing it FIRSTHAND, I moved to the Philippines instead.
Where I live, the people here have no problem with the Muslims. My school has more than fifty Muslims and I haven't yet heard them complaining. there are Halal restaurants both in and out of school. There are some places where they said they can't go to but I still don't have more information on that.
