The song is actually about him singing about a girl that he liked. But he didn’t have the guts to tell her so he would watch her from a distance. Therefore calling himself a creep.

@gerard dearie Maybe not but very much like the Beatles and their musicianship and arrangements are better think of them like the modern day Beatles if the Beatles had another member and the record companies were not on there case to pump out records so fast and they had much more toys to play with in the studio I know Thom Yourke loves the Beatles and so does the rest of the band. Noel Gallagher once said that if Thom Yourke shit in a light bulb the critics would say it was brilliant I would live to hear what the critics say about the insane rise of the Beatles people would be losing their minds.
@@ethanlora6054 I would like most people compare them to Pink Floyd but really there a lot of parallels to the Beatles as well throw Kraut rock The Talking Heads,Neil Young,REM,and the Pixies but make no mistake they are as good as any of those bands try the song Bloom only the live version from the basement inspired by Miles Davis another part of their makeup and try and tell me the Beatles could have done that.
@@ethanlora6054 One other thing Radiohead are probably the most critically acclaimed band in the world even the Rolling Stone top 500 albums they have 2 albums in the top 5 like the Beatles and they have another in the top 40 In Rainbows which I think is better than the 2 in the top 5 give them a chance before pompous statements you might really dig them. After their first album it is music for adults and most of the time requires multiple listens it is sometimes really dense music but if you put in some time it will be rewarding I am sure good luck I hope you check them out I would try the In Rainbows session from the basement first.

His story on this song was that when he was in college he was in love with a girl but too afraid to talk to her so he would notice and watch at her from a far meaning the creep, theres more to it. But all in all they actually regret making this song.

Paranoid Android is very different from Creep, but shares the big distorted guitar sound. It's a genius song for sure, and you might be interested in something off of In Rainbows, maybe Weird Fishes, Nude, or Reckoner. They have a very different vibe

Creep is their most popular song but it doesn't capture the sound of the band in the slightest, I suggest listening to either, Weird fishes, How to disappear completely, Paranoid android or 2+2=5 for a better idea on Radiohead :)
Most people who watch this for the 1st time seem to always miss the point about this band, good musicians, and THAT VOICE. You caught how amazing his voice is, so bravo. To me, he has the 2nd best voice in rock history, to Freddie Mercury of Queen. Thom Yorke, lead singer of Radio Head, has amazing range with his voice, just a great voice. If you look up the song Creep on RU-vid, you will find a lot of versions by a lot of people, because the vocals are such a challenge for singers, . Especially the part where he yells “She Runs”, not many people can do that part. Takes a powerful voice. Many TV Talent show contestants try to sing it. Not all succeed.
I was waiting to see your reaction when this song exploded the first time, you didn't disappoint at all LOL. A contestant on AGT did a cover of this song that put him on the map. His name is Brian Justin Crumb as I recall. I always liked this song, their other stuff not so much. This song is a little sad because the things he was saying, like creep and weirdo were the things he was calling himself because he is under the impression that he doesn't fit in with the cool people. I would not consider Radiohead rock the band does not they have a couple of albums that have barely any guitar on it if you are not familiar with them check them out.

He is not saying he is a creep or a weirdo, he is trying to tell us that he thinks the girl he is singing about thinks he is a creep and a weirdo and for that reason he would rather 'ruuuuuuuun' than approach her because he feels like he is beneath her. This is all based on a wrong assumption because he has never met her, never spoke to her so how can he know that she thinks he is a creep and a weirdo.
That's even more depressing, being so insecure and shy that you mentally torture yourself over someone who barely knows about your existence like they were some kind of god-like beings
