@@jameswatts2310 I haven't yet watched the video through, but as much as I love OK Computer and it's definitely my favourite Radiohead album, I do think Kid A was quite a bit more influential and for all the struggles I have getting into it it's just a super interestingly done album with a lot of heart and a lot of meaning behind it which really developed the alt rock sound, more than even OK Computer.
Each time someone ranks Radiohead's albums, it's actually them placing OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows on top in a slightly different order and putting the rest in a random number generator
Pablo honey, King of Limbs, and Amnesiac are all the bottom 3. Hail to the Thief, The bends, and A Moon Shaped Pool are the 3 middle. Kid A, Ok Computer, and In Rainbows are top 3. Basically all lists ranking the albums are like this
@@Chabascus damn I wonder if the albums quality influences on peoples preference????? like a good album will be more likely to be ranked higher consistently??????????????????????????????? I wondeeeeeerrrrr?????????
@@BillyCobbOfficial I've heard near enough every song they've ever released and "there there" is far and away my favourite. That outro just floors me every time
Not a surprise considering, the guy thinks all The Beatles albums pre 'HELP [early Beatles] are soppy pop songs that sound just like the rest of the early 60's stuff;/ couldn't take him seriously after that, don't know why I'm here tbh
@ It would, it would be a long one though, 40 albums, then there's the bootleg world' I have 91 albums in total' thats inc the Live shows' (his live gigs were better then other artist's studio albums) plus I doubt he's heard the 40 album core catalogue;)
1- Kid A (10/10) 2- Ok Computer (10/10) 3- In Rainbows (10/10) 4- Amnesiac (9.7/10) 5- A Moon Shaped Pool (9.5/10) 6- The Bends (9.2/10) 7- Hail to the Thief (9/10) 8- The King of Limbs (8.5/10) 9- Pablo Honey (7/10) Radiohead is my favorite band btw.
Not sure why you stopped talking about Muse 4 minutes in and started going on about how The Shaggs' Philosophy of The World is the best album ever made, but good video nonetheless!
True Love Waits existed for quite a while, long before Thom went through the breakup. The lyrics don’t seem to sound like they’re about him, but from the point of view of an unnamed girl.
hmmm interesting interpretation but I don't think it's from a girl's perspective because of the line "I'll wash your swollen feet" which is what happens when women are pregnant. So unless it's about a gay relationship, idk
Man The Bends is up there at the top of Radiohead's albums, why do I keep seeing it place so low? They still play Fake Plastic Trees, and Street Spirit as closer.
@@richardgamrat1944 It's a popular myth that has been around for quite some time - Middle 8's video on Kid A said the same thing about the lyrics. Nigel himself debunked this (not sure if it was on his Twitter or Instagram account).
airbag isn't one of the favorites, but that outro part is just one of my favorite moments of chaos in any music, along with turn it on by flaming lips and yet again by grizzly bear. also do king gizzard next also do arcade fire next
My list: 9. Pablo Honey 8. The King Of Limbs 7. Amnesiac 6. Hail To The Thief 5. The Bends 4. OK Computer 3. In Rainbows 2. A Moon Shaped Pool 1. Kid A
Alright, before anyone calls me out, I think that Pablo honey is the second best Radiohead album. As a giant grunge and alt rock fan I feel that Pablo honey has some of the greatest songs in the discography of Radiohead. I love anyone can play guitar and, (don’t attack me) creep. I know I sound like I’m being a hipster dumbass by just saying that the album that everyone hates in this discography is one of my second favorite. It’s just my opinion though and I can understand why people hate it.
My personal worst to best: 9: King of Limbs 8: Pablo Honey 7: Amnesiac 6: A moon shape pool 5: Hail to the thief 4: Kid A 3: The bends 2: Ok Computer 1: In rainbows
This is how you do Radiohead ranking 9.Pablo honey ( everyone agree's) 8-2.Others ( you know you'll fuck up) 1.Ok computer ( to get loved by everyone again) or kid a ( if you wanna be a punching bag)
Purely personal preference based off how much I enjoy each album: 9. Pablo honey 8. King of limbs 7. The bends 6. Amnesiac 5. Hail to the thief 4. A moon shaped pool 3. Kid A 2. Ok computer 1. In Rainbows Honestly with the exception of the bottom two I pretty much enjoy every album.
I know a lot of people don't like The Bends, but saying that Blackstar degrades the album really hurt. Also very shocked you didn't mention Just on there.
Bless your soul for putting Kid A at the top spot, always been my fav. HOWEVER, I am disgusted at how high you put HTTT on this list. Amnesiac/TKOL/AMSP > HTTT… that is all.
I wasn't into Kid A at first. It wasn't until I put it on while I did sketches for art class that it clicked. It then became one of my favorites. So much so, I took it into art class one night and played it for my classmates, who were all elderly women. They actually dug it and couldn't believe I was into such music. Considering that grundge and metal were my usual musics at the time. Perfect record for doing art.
I don't care what anybody says, In Rainbows will forever be my favorite album of theirs. It's one of the most unique things I have ever listened to, absolutely stunning.
I'm a Radiohead nerd, but I agree on most of the things you say, but I might be wrong has some exceptional bass lines and it's awesome... I recommend you giving it another chance
This is my ranking: 9. Pablo Honey 8. The King of Limbs 7. Amnesiac 6. The Bends 5. A Moon Shaped Pool 4. Hail To The Thief 3. Ok Computer 2. In Rainbows 1. Kid A It's honestly almost the same as yours, I just flipped a couple of albums
i agree with everything except for putting hail to the thief above moon shaped pool. The flow of hail to the thief is a spectacular and dark journey that starts with one of their best songs and ends with one of their greatest, but nearly all of the rest of it is forgettable. it grew on me a lot but the entirety of moon shaped pool has consistent and memorable songs from sound to sound, and a great progression through to the end of the album.
@@becketclark9942 I'm significantly more lenient with Pablo Honey, both because it's a growing pains album, and it was trying to accomplish something completely different. The King of Limbs was very experimental, and it backfired for the most part, but they were doing something different. Hail To The Thief is more of the same from OK Computer and Amnesiac, but worse, and from a time that they really should have known better, but doesn't get the write-off of being experimental.
Here's mine: 9) Pablo Honey Decent grunge album not bad but not that good. You is my favourite song from it 8)King of Limbs Solid album but feels unfinished. The Basement version of it is really great and better than the album version. Lotus Flower is my favourite song from it 7) The Bends It's a really great album but a few songs (The Bends, Bones, Sulk and Black Star) I feel haven't aged that well Street Spirit is my favourite 6) Hail to the Thief If this album would've had a shorter track listing or a better track listing in general it would've been better. Half of the songs here are absolutely amazing and some of the best songs Radiohead ever made and the other half isn't that great Sail to the Moon, Where I end and you begin, Scatterbrain and A Wolf at the Door are my favourites 5) Amnesiac This album would've been perfect if they changed the track listing and removed packd like sardines in a tin box and actually finished Revolving doors, the drum loop is awesome and I think Radiohead could've made this song Industrial Metal. Life in a Glasshouse and Like Spinning Plates are my favourites 4) Kid A I think Kid A is a flawed masterpiece. It's a really great album and I love it but I don't feel like the second half is as great as the first and even though I love Optimistic I don't feel it fits that great on the album. National Anthem and How to Disappear Completely are my Favourites To me the top 3 are a tie between the best Radiohead album so it was hard to choose 3) A Moon Shaped Pool I love this album to death. I think this is the only perfect track listing on a Radiohead album. Love the strings and love the atmosphere. Even though this is considered the saddest Radiohead album I don't think it's that sad, I just think the songs are beautiful Favourites: Daydreaming, Decks Dark, Desert Island Disk, Ful Stop, Glass Eyes, Identikit, Present Tense and True Love Waits 2) In Rainbows This is another amazing album by them and the most upbeat and not sad album by them. Love the style and the sound that they went for here (even though it's not the most experimental) Favourites: Nude, Weird Fishes, All I need, Reckoner and Jigsaw Falling into Place Jigsaw Falling into Place being my all time favourite Radiohead song 1) Ok Computer The only reason I'm putting Ok Computer here is because it's the closest thing to a concept album Radiohead have done and I love concept albums. Also I think this album has the best lyrics Thom has ever written. But I don't think Electioneering should've been put after fitter happier. fitter happier - Climbing up the Walls would've been better but that's just a nitpick Favourites: Airbag, Paranoid Android, Subterranean Homesick Alien, Exit Music, Let Down, fitter happier, Climbing up the Walls and Lucky
@@gabrielbennett9053 I didn't say it's a concept album. I said "it's the closest thing to a concept album Radiohead have done" and what I meant was that it has a lyrical and sonical theme. All of the songs here are about a problem we humans are facing in the 21st century. For example: Subterranean HS Alien is about how the narrator imagines aliens see humans (strange creatures that live in their secrets) Electioneering is about politicians who cheat on elections And so on
My Personal Ranking 1. A Moon Shaped Pool 2. The King of Limbs 3. Amnesiac 4. In Rainbows 5. Kid A 6. OK Computer 7. Hail To The Thief 8. The Bends 9. Pablo Honey
My list 9.) Pablo Honey 8.) King of Limbs 7.)The Bends 6.) Hail to the theif 5.) A moon shaped Pool 4.) Amnesiac 3.) Ok Computer 2.) In Rainbows 1.) Kid A
HOW TF IS YOUR RANKING EXACTLY THE SAME AS MINE LIKE WTF I legit felt creeped out by how accurate most of what you said was to my thoughts. Legit disappointed I Might Be Wrong is one of your least favourites on Amnesiac. I love it and think it's one of their best songs period (it's a fan favourite for sure - the groovy bassline and sick desert rock guitar riff make a tasty combo). (also did you know that Exit Music and Life In A Glasshouse were originally one song?) Also THANK YOU for We Suck Young Blood love, the song gets almost little to no appreciation in the fandom. My favourite song on Hail To The Thief, believe it or not. No mention of Climbing Up The Walls? Phenomenal song, a thrill ride like no other! The driving bassline on Where I End And You Begin and the mesmerising guitar tone on Scatterbrain are fantastic too. And I'd argue You (great instrumentation and amazing vocal performance from Thom) and Stop Whispering (the guitar tone is gorgeous) on Pablo Honey are great songs, definite standouts on an otherwise alright record. I apologise if I'm being obnoxious. Radiohead is my second favourite band of all time - OK Computer, along with Origin Of Symmetry by Muse, completely changed my perspective on music in general.
@@blahblahblaher You mean ranking the tracks on the album? Honestly, it's pretty hard for me to rank them. Other than Citizen Erased and Space Dementia being №1 and №2 respectively and Bliss being the worst (not a bad song at all, just my least favourite), the rest are equally great IMO.
9) Pablo Honey 8) The Bends 7) Amnesiac 6) Hail To The Thief 5) The King of Limbs (YES, THE KING OF LIMBS) 4) OK Computer 3) In Rainbows 2) A Moon Shaped Pool 1) Kid A
