Guys iam a radiologist from Bangalore i did my PG in JIPMER iam earning only 1 lakh ten thousand In a month. I recruited in 3 hospitals work is hectic I have to sit in front of laptop screens for hours . My sujestion for juniors is don't opt radio now it's saturation. In my home locality only we have 4 radiologist.
We should not take a branch based on pay Radiology everyone is taking saying that good pay If someone say that it's my dream branch he or she is lying because we don't see radiologist working outside from childhood it's bullshit And 4 to 5 lakh pay is not there at all now Now it's just 2 lakh I have enquired every city and more say the pay is gonna decrease with upcoming advances and more no of radiologist there wont be any growth U will be unrecognised and suing rate is gonna increase in india in near future better to go for budding branches like emergency medicine and pulmonology
My friend who is doing srship already got a job offer for 18lpa.There are dedicated trauma teams who are in much demand than orthopedics or neurosurgeons in every corporate hospitals.
Emergency medicine got a great scope as there are trauma teams in corporate hospitals and you will work in shifts unlike regular 8 to 10 job of a internal medicine people.
Ai is a powerful tool..it may change everything regarding radiology in a decade.. It'll become like gen med post residency and earning like a 1lakh or 2 pm Unless u do intervention radiology super speciality there will be no scope
Artificial intelligence will empower 1 radiologist to do the job of 10 radiologists combined. So yeah, it will make you smart, at the same time it will take your job.
Guys don't opt radiology private hospitals have taking A.I now . Iam a radiologist from Hyderabad previously private hospitals call me for every single case now they are calling me just only to verify. They are now paying me low .
Tu Kya aise fake comment Karke competition kam kar raha hai?? In a previous comment you stated that you are from Karnataka and now within 1 week you are saying that you are from Hyderabad.. chutiya … atleast jhut toh think se Bol liya kar..
One thing missed here-- Fetalmedicine done by obg so taking out fetal out of md rad, more colleges with low resident exposure to fetal Intervention people with subspeciality doing like neuroloist n neurosurgeon into it peripheral vascular disease -CTVS ppl into it even gen surgeon doing varicose vein embolisation Cardiologist n ctvs surgeon doing most of cardiac n neck intervention Body n billiary intervention left which is still with us Radiologist not threaten by AI rather other clinical subspecialities in India tire-2/3 😊radilogy yet to be destined n rich speciality - not for tire-1 for sure
Agreed. Lot of encroachment from other specialities, but it’s there in other as well. Gynae surgeries being done by surgeons. Aesthetics being done by plastic surgery, ent, Derma. Cardiologist taking over CTVS procedures. I think it depends which hospital is one practicing. You can set you your IR practice accordingly. And for Tier 1 cities- all specialities are saturated not just radiology. Even if you do MCh uro and 2 yr fellowships in robotic surgery, there are still big shots sitting above you in metros.
Guys I am a radiologist from Delhi the private hospitals are recruiting A.I and they are calling me only for signing. And only for the sake of sign they are paying me very low money.guys please don't opt radiology it's completely saturated and A.I as already replaced us .
Isse boda jhut hya nehi sala😂, abhi usmle pe sabse top brunch radio chal Raha hya, waha AI nehi aya iha aa geya 😂abe Tera DP bol Raha hya ki tu jhut bol Raha hya 😂. Are AI india me abhi Tak utna aye hi nehi re yarrrrrrrrrrrr, abhi western countries me ane de
Lol😂 the AI part is absolutely wrong yr If AI comes, all the reportings and identification of the sizes tumors, hemorrhage etc all will be done by it and u guys gonna check the report and if mistakes are there u gonna correct them...this makes them radiologists kinda lazy i think! So AI gonna take up radiology that's pakka . it's gonna be an addition to radiologists and makes their life easier... ultimately the salary gonna be less🤷🏻♂️ that's literally obvious...so choose wisely guys don't go over money and all..just get into wht u like and do wonders in that branch... don't take up any branch by peer or family or society's pressure...take it if u really love it P.s. i love traumatology..so gonna choose emergency medicine or trauma surgery! Ik both are upcoming but I'm very much interested in it! Cuz personally I won't be able to sit at one place and look at computer all day.. I've to run, do stuff, need adrenaline rush..so radio, patho, micro, gen med(opd), not my cup of tea! That's how i got to know my liking to a particular branch
Not to demotivate you but salary will reduce for each and every branch in the future. The golden period of medicine is long gone. So, it is better to start earning money at an early age rather than, waiting till mid 40's to get settled. As of now the effort/time to money ratio and work to life balance is the best in radio. So, it is only natural that toppers are choosing radio.
@@APstrz nope..you know right? The trend of how radiologists are getting paid right now? It dropped to 2laks and have to work only in one hospital according to rules and any branch you take doctors are getting paid a decent amount of salary..and everything depends on you and how u save money and invest in some business or hospital.. And currently some big hospitals, sending their CT MRI scans and complicated XRAYS, overseas, getting AI REPORTING Done and those reports are signed and Lil errors are corrected by radiologists and sending them to patients..if you ask for a hike you're getting replaced by new post residency freshers! This is the current scenario in some big ass hospitals rn..and think what's gonna happen down the lane let's say 10yrs from now..
@@APstrz in this competitive world to earn money either one should run some business or to invest in stocks Can't entirely depend upon salary..so that's wht im trying to say..take the branch that you love..money will come anyways but it all depends on how you save and invest in the future
Sir i have air 629 this year .... Getting MD radiology from good clgs.... I am done with usmle step exams ...can that score be useful in getting fellowship in USA( since the score is valid for 7 years) after i complete my radiology residency in India?
Sir what about competing with interventional Neurologist, interventional cardiologist and vascular surgeon? I am fascinated by vascular intervention procedures too, but not sure which is the best path? Md medicine then intervention branches or md radio then intervention radio
Onco interventions like RFA MWA TACE TARE Portal vein embolization,PTBD etc not infiltrated by anyone and the number of people doing neurointerventions and peripheral vascular interventions are less as their learning curve is steep you will get the confidence of doing neurointervention only after 3 years of DM neurointervention …for a neurologist to do 3 years fellowship after DM is quite painful…Onco intervention is relatively easy to learn and you will be confident in it after 2 years of fellowship and as many hospitals are opening up in tier 2 and 3 cities you can do cases as freelancing
As a practising IR my suggestion is you should know that IR is quite different from what you experience in diagnostic radiology. It is an upcoming field ..but u need to have basic medicine sense for OPD and Ward care.n the struggle in initial few years is same as fellow DM cardio Intervetionist
@@Tpsys-Asir what about interventions by other respective branches like neuro doing neuro interventions, nephro, vascular surgeon. Hepatobiliary procedures done by hepatologist also or only by interventional radiologist
Hiii sir 🎉 Thank you for sharing this information What is your opinion on radiation exposure to Intervention Radiologist ? Please share your thoughts on this..... It will be great if you make a video on this issue... Thank you Sir Have a wonderful and healthy life ✨️
Currently I have completed my pcm and searching for future carrier I saw radiology please tell me, what it is and how to get into that from which degree , College, all that and, is it worth it in 2024 .
sir kindly give your opinion about the newly started nbe diploma radiology. my rank is 8.5 k hence less chance of getting dnb radio. so thinking of taking diploma radio and then giving pdcet to get secondary dnb. is it worth doing sir ?
Sir I was someone who liked medicine thoroughly well throughout my mbbs, but internship changed it such that I feel scared now to take up medicine…. I feel like being on the toes and taking fast decisions isn’t something I like. I feel too anxious about it. My internship was very good in the sense that we got to do a lot of independent work and that only added to my anxiety. And then came my radio postings and I really liked the environment there and the work that was done. I observed a lot of vascular intervention procedures and just totally fell in love with the branch. Now in NEET of I have a rank good enough to get radiology dnb in Mumbai. Should I go for radiology? Only thing i feel against radiology at this point is that I’ll miss patient interactions. I’ll really appreciate it if you reply sir… do you miss patient interactions? I come from a family of doctors and I’ve always seen patients asking them about their problems in public, family functions etc and that actually drove me to mbbs.
Hi, I was in the same position except I had inclination towards surgery. Do I miss patient Interaction- umm I’d say I miss patient management a little. To see patient as a whole till discharge. Although I am happy that I can contribute to management of a lot of patient rather than one speciality as Radiology is at the Center of hospital care. Also Vascular interventions are the most fascinating thing that I saw during my internship. I was posted in casualty and saw a stroke patient in window period. He was rushed to Intervention Suite and Mechanical thrombectomy was done. Patient’s weakness recovered on table.
@@theknowlwdgebarbro at current rate it will take more then 30 years to even have enough doctors for entire population, but the problem is almost all doctors are there in cities and villages get left out , also earning scope for each doctor will be very less
@@RishabhJain2970 toh doctor disease recognise krenge toh krega sr doctor padhai kiss chij ki krte hai phir...hm jb doc se meri,ct scan , blood report dikhate hai toh doc sahab kaise bolte hai aapko phalna bimari hua hai aur uska medicine dete hai...

Sir is it possible that in coming years other branches will be authorised to do imaging of their own specialisation like ms obgy people do fetal medicine and then they do obs usg. So is this a thing to worry? I am opting md radio in this neet pg counseling but such thoughts cross my mind and that makes me doubt whether to go for it.
Is it important to be interested or good in anatomy to choose radiology as branch...? And can we study Anatomy from here and become better... Please Reply Sir.... Thank You!!
Even if there are more doctors you will always find employment there are nearly 700 Government centers and many have vacancies in radiology. That is the reason Government of India initiated telemedicine in premium institutes across the country so you will always find a government job either medical college community diagnostic center district diagnostic center.
Sir i am a neet aspirant i want to become radiologist , but i cannot get right knowledge for this course some sources says that we should do mbbs and some are saying you can do this by doing bachleors in radiology So i am confused , so can you please tell me what should i do?
Sir during residency or Srship is interventions limited to simpler procedures like pig tail insertion, usg or ct guided biopsies, taps? Do residents get to do vascular interventions or it has to be learnt in fellowship??
Donot take radiology U will regret. No pateint interaction. No pateint management Nobody knows you. Radiology is like technician. And definitely AI will replace it
@@abcd-nd5lhnhi yaar, sab apna intervention khud krte hai.. logo ki baat mat suno.. go in the market and see for yourself.. it's very difficult for IR to convince a dm superspecialist to send patient to him for intervention
i underwent bilateral varicocele surgery 5 and half months ago but my veins is still enlarged and i heard that if we get ultrasound with enlarged yet ligated veins, radiologist will still say you have varicocele... Is it true? I heard this and I am afraid if radiologist will give me bad reports or declare recurrence...
Are you getting pain on walking? Standing after prolonged sitting? Go to experienced person to get correct diagnosis after examination maybe the surgeon hasn't ligated the testicular vein properly.
By the way it's true we are human even we make mistakes and it is difficult to exclude when ligated surgically as it looks like a varicocele .I have a method to diagnose it without sonography.just hold the swollon area with thumb and finger and bend down if it reduces then definitely it is a varicocele and the surgery was not done correctly.
@@RishabhJain2970don't lie rishab u can't secure with pg. If ur settled means it doesn't mean for all. My friend did MS surgery he is idle in home . Other of my friend did radiology he is working hell just for 80 k per month
@@doctornaveen1855I think you are speaking about South... In South Mbbs is totally saturated states like Karnataka and TN produce 22K doctors every year and specialisation soo going to saturate and pay become even worse
@@RishabhJain2970it's true there is a huge demand in tier 3 4 cities villages districts.bhms bums ayush people are making a bank.personally my village rmp who has a clinic when I was a kid had opened two hospitals which are 50km to a tier 3 city and asked me for recruiting dm cardiologist for low salary.I declined saying why would dm cardiologist work in tier 4 places.
But sir this is dependent branch.untill.unless pt refer to you. Nowdays corporate hospitals have their own teleradiology na. Setting own setup is big problem in radiology.
Its is truth that upcoming 7 to 8 years radiology will be lowest preferred branch and it is definitely replaced by Artificial intelligence Think 200 times before taking this technician branch
