This presentation is an adaptation of previous video presentations I've uploaded here, so do not watch this if you've already watched those.
This presentation was made upon specific request to make a (real life) presentation on "the basics of brain tumor imaging" with less than half an hour speaking time. I'm not good at short presenations, so I found this real difficult to be honest, it's a lot easier to talk for half on hour on a very rare brain disease than on a general topic like "the basics of brain tumor imaging".
Please let met know if you think it served it's purpose. The goal is to provide a good introduction to brain tumor imaging for people who are new to the field. Comments and feedback are defintely welcome.
0:00 - Introduction
0:22 - First things first: rule out significant mass-effect!
03:30 - How old is the patient?
08:27 - Where is the tumor located?
11:36 - Cerebral metastases
12:30 - Glioblastoma
14:56 - Age and location based differential diagnosis of other brain tumors
19:16 - What does the tumor look like?
24:31 - Key Messages

Can a brain tumour (glioblastoma or astrocytoma) shrink and disappear, or will there always be scar tissue remaining, how can you know if it is scar tissue from the tumour ?

A difficult question that deserves a nuanced answer, because a complicated topic and just saying yes or no is not an option (and not a correct answer). Maybe I'll make a video once on imaging of glial tumors during and after therapy, hope you have patience :).
